Oct 16, 2011

As announced yesterday here's a final poll to pass the time until the premiere tomorrow night. Tomorrow I'll post a summary with the results of all polls combined, so make sure to also check out old polls you haven't voted on yet.
And that is today's question:

Season 1, Episode 1 – Aired: 10/31/2010
Days Gone Bye
Sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes wakes up in the hospital after having been shot while on duty and discovers that while he was in the hospital, something has happened which causes the bodies of the dead to reanimate and attack the living. The town he lived in is mostly abandoned, with many dead roaming the streets at night. Believing that his wife, Lori, and son, Carl, have most likely fled to safety in nearby Atlanta, he grabs a stock of weapons from the locker of his police station, and sets out to find them.

Season 1, Episode 2 – Aired: 11/7/2010
Guts
Due to his gun toting arrival in Atlanta, Rick causes a group of survivors to be trapped by walkers. The group dynamic devolves from accusations to violence, as Rick must confront an enemy that is far more dangerous than the walkers themselves.

Season 1, Episode 3 – Aired: 11/14/2010
Tell It to the Frogs
Rick makes a decision to go back to Atlanta to retrieve the bag of guns and save a man's life. Lori and Shane must deal with the surprising return of someone they thought was dead, which was also a surprise to Shane who has been having an affair with Lori.

Season 1, Episode 4 – Aired: 11/21/2010
Vatos
Rick's mission to Atlanta is in danger when things go awry. Back at camp, Jim becomes unhinged.

Season 1, Episode 5 – Aired: 11/28/2010
Wildfire
The group is led by their newest member to the Center for Disease Control while one of the members is forced to make a choice that has harsh consequences.

Season 1, Episode 6 – Aired: 12/5/2010
TS-19
An odd scientist lets the refugees into the Center for Disease Control. While they stay at the facility, everything seems peaceful, despite the events going on throughout the outside world. However, peace cannot last forever.

  1. The premiere was one of the best premieres/zombie-focused of any tv show or movie I've seen so I gotta go with that.

  2. Loved the Pilot.  The rest of it didn't do it for me, I think i"m like the only person who didn't like Walking Dead.  Glad its getting a second season tho :)

  3. The pilot was by far the best episode, for me there's no question about it. Also liked Tell It to the Frogs and Wildfire & Guts had their moments too. TS-19 and especially Vatos were quite disappointing. Seriously, how can anyone vote for Vatos??

  5. I loved the series premiere. And I really need to get the DVDs, because I can't remember all that much.

  6. I liked when they spread guts all over themselves and walked out among the walkers, and then it rained, so the smell was washing off and the walkers knew they were living people. High tension and high grossness.

  7. Really no choice but the pilot 'Days Gone Bye' for me.

It was brilliant from start to end and may have been the only episode of the series I can say that about if memory serves correctly. Other episodes had high points too.. granted, but none were as consistently strong on all levels throughout the episode. The acting was on point, the cinematography was brilliant, the writing was good (albeit limited  in many scenes), the directing was incredible and everything came together in one cohesive masterpiece.

Honestly from an artistic stand point no other episode even comes close to competing with the pilot.

  9. The pilot was the best of the bunch.  It was an amazing combination of mood, atmosphere, and visual spectacle.
