  1. It was great! The kids continue to be morons, while Andrea and Dale still have that creepy, weird sexual tension.

    AND WTAF AT THAT ENDING.

  2. Awesome premiere but there were TO MANY COMMERCIALS

  3. Nice to hear Rick still talking to Morgan (or empty air).

It seemed a little odd that they would go driving along a highway with blind spots all over and a few of them not be on guard with guns in hands. At least after the Winnebago broke down they got frosty.

I loved that they looted the dead bodies and scavenged whatever they could! Any sane person would... unless they are on Terra Nova.  Well most were smart about their pit stop.... Shane was his usual dumbass self wasting water that could last them a couple days.

I find it ironic that every walker I saw had on comfortable walking shoes despite being dead and so many female cops on TV wear high heels on suspect grabs. Even the make-believe zombies are more realistic than most TV cops! XD

Note to self: buy more screwdrivers with at least a 5-inch shank. Just in case.....

Anyone else have a Lord of the Rings flashback when Sophia hid from the walkers?

Note to elf #2: In the future avoid eating "fleshy" or red sauced meals during TWD.

Wow that is some deluded optimism! Seriously....
They might be ringing the bells because they found Sophia? Really Carol?
    *Face palm*

Good to know there are still church-going Republicans after the Zombie Apocalypse! Well, I guess they were religious zombies technically... although without a visual aide I'm not sure I could tell the difference....

The last scene was awesome and I did not see that coming.  Was it in the comic books? It brought me right back in to the dying to know what happens next mode.

One thing I found annoying was the sound effects as they beat zombies (especially in the church). It sounded really "canned" and fake.. more over each blow sounded the exact same.  *Thump* *Squish* I think they need a new Foley artist that can make each head caving blow sound a bit different from the previous....

Overall I liked this episode a lot. It had a nice rhythm, good story and some nice"new" walkers! It picked up from the vibe of last year and showed us what lies ahead in Season Two. An apt title indeed.

  4. It always feels like 90-minute episodes have more commercials than a 60-minute episode proportionally. Part of the reason I am usually not a big fan of 90-minute episodes.

  5. The characters still aren't as good as their counterparts from the comics. Rick and her son are a little better, but Andrea is fucking annoying...The scene in the church was really good i want more of that and less of the whining.I hope the Greene family are well developed.

  6. The last scene was in the comic books. Somehow at least. Carl was shot, but it was different in the comics. I knew it would be happening on the show too, because we saw pics and promo footage where Rick was running holding Carl. So the second they agreed Carl could go with them looking for Sophia I knew it would happen in this episode.

  7. Ahh ok.

I'm impressed with myself... somehow I managed to not get spoiled with the premiere despite still checking out half or more of the promo material and photos etc.

More like blind luck, but I'm glad that was not spoiled for me. It was what moved the episode from "ok" to "great" for me.

  8. It was okay for me.

I'm really surprised there are no (confirmed) casualties yet. I was sure T-Dog would die on the highway when the herd was passing by. Things don't look good at all for Sophia, I kind of expect her to return as a zombie later this season (which would be totally different from what happened in the comics by the way).

The scene with Shane and Glenn finding water and being utterly excited about it was pretty nice. Just shows how in such a post apocalyptic world small things that are absolutely plain for us like that can cause such joy.

Andrea was quite annoying. The whole suicide story was not a part of the comics. And seeing her look quite annoyed all the time and hearing her bitch about the fact that she wanted out and that she wants a gun was annoying for me. Especially since she is one of my favourite characters in the comics. I hope things change for her soon.

When I heard the bells I thought for a short moment that they might already introduce Gabriel, but that would have been very soon and an incredible surprise. I guess we have to be lucky that we get Hershel and his family this season. Even though they said they will stick closer to the stories from the comics the premiere didn't feature a lot that was in there and from what I've heard and seen so far I think there will be a lot of de-tours again.

  9. I just checked the gallery, but apparently there was no photo of it. It was just in a promo where you saw Rick from the back, carrying someone (you couldn't really see it's Carl) while running towards a house. If you know the comics, it's not hard to guess what happened.

  10. DarqueMode, I'm LOLing after the Republican remark. And yes, I learned to not be eating anything during this show (especially after "Guts").

  11. ^^; 30 minutes commercials for 90 minutes is the exact same proportion than 20 minutes commercials for 1 hour

  12. Great... sorry, awesome episode! I didn't enjoy the first season and found it VERY boring, so I didn't expect much from season two.
But the episode just awoke me! Thrilling, suprising, sometimes disgusting, great replacement for Breaking Bad. :)

  13. A typical 60 minute show has 18 minutes (30% of the hour) of commercials.  This 90 minute premiere had approximately 27 minutes (30% of the 90 minute program) of commercials.

Take from that what you will.  Either way, commercials suck.

  14. This was pretty decent, even though I have a few problems with the zombies (running, they don't get winded).

  15. I'm not happy with how Andrea is being portrayed either.  I've been waiting for "badass" Andrea to show up but the writers keep giving us "whiny mess" Andrea.  My patience is wearing thin.

  16. I didn't catch on to any shoddy sound effects but there was one thing that bothered me.  It was the scene with Andrea right before the search party went into the woods.  She started the the scene with the declarative statement "I'm not going anywhere without my gun" and, after making such a huge scene and fighting with Dale about it, she walks off silently without her gun.

  17. I really liked the return....despite FFing through a couple of scenes...the herd of zombies moving past them on the highway was just too stressful (which is a really good thing.)   Loved the character stuff (always oen of my fav things about the show)
