I loved it! Although I hated the slight lack of Danny and the weird fact that he was driving, not Steve. And the situation with Kono is weird. I was so sure she was undercover until the end there.
I'm not sure I like this new formula. Steve + his life and connections. Kono and her mystery. Danny and Chin are almost after thoughts, and they're spending way too much time on new ppl instead of the cohesive team that made this show a favorite. I like Terry O'Quinn's character, but he's a little too involved with a police unit. And I'm not impressed with the new chick. Sorry, but she adds nothing and has no chemistry with Steve or Danny. It's only a few eps in, so maybe it'll even out, but for now, I kind of miss the team.
Still think she is undercover. I think she needs to use Chin in order to do her job. Glad there was less Lori tonight, though not happy that they tried to give her cargument with Danny. I am glad Danny was driving his own car. Need more Steve, Danny and Chin interaction. Thought Joe and Max were great though. I liked the mystery as well.
Yeah I am missing the team too. It just doesn't feel right without them together. I think things will start to get better as they learn balance again. Though you are right Lori doesn't have any chemistry with either Steve or Danny. I keep hoping that something will click, but it doesn't.
The lack of Danny during the first half was a bit upsetting to me personally, but I loved the episode as a whole. I'm loving the fact that we are finally--FINALLY--getting more SEAL!Steve backstory. Was about damn time. Plus, Kono's storyline this season looks awesome as well. I can't wait for next week!
The sky-diving scene was incredible. It was good to see TOQ as always. I'm glad we are getting to know a little bit Steve's seal years. I'm worried about Kono though. I want to believe she is undercover to get that head IA guy out.
Loved the action and stuntwork, the photography & music. Episode rocked. Great chemistry and cohesiveness with Steve, Chin and Joe in the jungle. Danny was an afterthought tonight. Lori brings nothing to the team and has no chemistry with anyone. She distracts from the team and any scene she is in. No emotions, no vocal inflections - very wooden, one dimensional acting. I hope she is gone soon. Good beginning to the Kono story line though I want her back on the team ASAP. No bromance or ohana feel to the ep tonight. Great action, but no team feel. Love the Joe White and Max characters, they enhance the team with chemistry and quirkiness. The fifth member just isn't working. Bring back the core 4 and the ohana and bromance. I'm missing it big time.
I not liking this season so far. The thing with Kono has really been bothering me. This episode did anyone even ask about her? Mcgarrett has not mentioned her once since the pilot I would think he would a least ask since Mcgarrett was the one who actually took the money!!! I get that she is probubly undercover but still they were a close team last season this season nobody but her cousin has talked about her. I get that the writer have some grand plan but what ever it is these are the details that keep people like me intrested not watching the introduce the another annoying Blond.
It was a great stand alone episode. I'm still not sure about Lori, she has her moments of being alright, ie: at the end but trying to have a cargument with Danny didn't help her cause. But I will reserve judgement for a little while longer. I liked the scene near the end in the command centre with everyone watching the SEALS. Must agree with the other reviewers. Too little Danny - Great stunt work - Not sure about Kono's story yet but I do believe she is undercover in some capacity but the question is why and who for? I refuse to believe she has gone bad. Loved Terry O'Quinn, not a Lost fan but loved him on Alias. Come on Episode 4!
You all pretty much said everything, completely agree too. But can't believe no Lost Fans mentioned the waterfall location in the beginning of the episode.... But it was nice seeing Terry and Daniel hiking through the jungle again ;D
I'm pretty sure Kono isn't a bad guy, well girl. So I have nothing to worry about her..although I find the story line…. weird. I wonder how long it will go on for, I miss the old team. Though I'm excited to NCIS Los Angeles mixed in this.
I still don't like Lori, which so far runs this season for me. She has no chemistry with the others and is just disturbing the bromance. I'd be so happy if we could just get the team from Season one back, maybe with Max. He fits in nicely.
I loved this episode. I don't understand why more viewers can't watch this seriously Castle has just become a bore.
Action all the way again which I was happy about. Totally loved the Sky diving scene I'll be surprised that Jeff and the Stunt crew will be nominated for an Emmy again next year for this one you never see anything like this on TV Shows only in movies.
Purely I loved the ending also with the Seals getting the Mexican Drug cartel was brilliantly shot. If anybody wants to see something similar to how they got Bin Laden see Five-0 2.03 I would say.
I like Lori I know she doesn't feel comfortable a lot of the fans hate her after what they saw with the interviews at the SOTB Premiere but if they can make new characters good like they did with Bones and some other shows this will happen.
Nobody mentioned this I love the shot of Chin's reaction after Danno shot the Seal 9 killer like 'You shot him?' and Danno was like 'Well he was about to shoot me' LOL he hasn't shot a guy since 1.00 as far as I know but I found it funny.
Still loving Joe White he is a great fixture to the team I would love to see him a recurring I think he has more secrets behind his belt with Steve's father and the deal with Operation Strawberry Fields wil be interesting to know even though I doubt we will find any more information. But I'm on Danno's side I want to know more about Steve's Seal past as well.
Judging for the promo next week looks to be a goo one 2 Oscar winners in one episode what more could you ask for and Catherine is back wahoo!
Yeah I agree too. I knew that it was going to be featured in the episode when I saw it on director Jeffrey Hunts Twitter page. And also the jungle reminded me a lot like Lost again with Daniel & Terry
Mmm Hmmm true I've been thinking that for a while since last week's episode. With Kono hacking into Chin's HPD network may involve something with the money purely I don't think the whole assest forgeit locker with Chin hasn't been finalised that's what's got me thinking. Because Delano is a dirty cop and he gambles so maybe he wants the money as well for some reason and he is trying to get Kono to steal but with Frye maybe like a lot of people have speculated has asked Kono to go undercover to find out the truth of what Delano wants with the HPD
Hmmmm yeah I was worried there because he wasn't watching the road at all when he was talking to Lori LOL I know it's all fake but they should be watching the road to make it realistic
I've gotta be honest... I DON'T see Terry O'Quinn sticking around past the season... how far can they take his storyline before the novelty of having another Lost actor on set wears off?
Too many of my favorite shows this season are pulling their ensemble casts apart and separating the stories. It's not really working here for me....mostly because Kono's story has, to the point, been so predictable that I don't care. The cases was interesting and I'm liking Terry O'Quinn's character. Still okay with the new blonde but she seems really young.
You all pretty much said everything, completely agree too. But can't believe no Lost Fans mentioned the waterfall location in the beginning of the episode.... But it was nice seeing Terry and Daniel hiking through the jungle again ;D
Glad to know it's not just me. :) I'm interested in all the storylines (except the new chick) but they are all separate. Even Steve commenting about Danny's family situation seemed forced. I don't know, I understand shows tweaking formulas, but not so soon. Let the team gel for a few seasons before you start messing with them. They need to establish the bond over time, not just jump in and make us assume it's established.
I love partner shows, but I don't think they work if the partners just instantly would lay down their lives for each other. That kind of thing doesn't just happen overnight. It needs to build. Over years. In season 6 they can start messing with the chemistry. :)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI loved every second of this adrenaline filled and entertaining episode of Hawaii Five-0. Writing and acting are superb!
ReplyDeleteI believe that Kono is working deep undercover to help Internal Affairs to catch Frank Delano and help clear her name! Keep watching!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the exact same thing because I can't see her turning into a bad guy, at least I hope not anyway!
ReplyDeleteYou all pretty much said everything, completely agree too.

one of the best episodes!!!!

I don't think the end changes anything. I still think she's undercover.
ReplyDeleteTerry O'Quinn saved this episode from being too dull and formulaic. I'm really glad he's extending his stay. As for Kono...
ReplyDeleteI'm going to call it right now - Kono being stripped of her badge was a ruse and she's actually undercover.
