  1. I wasnt all that impressed with the second half of the series. Every episode was painfully predictable after the first few minutes. Moffatt is an excellent writer and I expected better from these episodes. Closing Time and The God Complex were great, that's about it.

I liked the cliff hanger at the end of the series, but that's about it.

The first half were a good bunch of episodes. Particuarly the opening episodes. Really good stuff.

So all in all, this season was kinda "average" to me. Roll on the Christmas Special, looking forward to seeing BIll Bailey appear!

  2. I liked it. I wasn't a fan of the pirate episode, nor the two amy episode. But I loved the rest. I guessed the question an hour before the finale but disregarded it as I thought it was too cheesy (yet obvious), so I'm guessing there was a reason to the way it was pronouced Doc Tor Who.

  3. A bit convoluted, and it really opened itself up to the detractors of Moffat's writing, but I loved it. Probably the best real character development we've seen for The Doctor ever, even though the reasoning for it wasn't apparent until The Wedding of River Song.

Loved the last three episodes. Loved The Impossible Astronaut/Day of the Moon. Liked The Flesh two parter, A Good Man Goes To War and Let's Kill Hitler. Was apathetic about Night Terrors and hated Curse of the Black Spot.

    Overall, I dug it.

  4. Probably in the minority but I loved this season.  I really hate it when people say its too complicated, I love working out clues and theories and trying to figure out what will happen, which is why I adore shows like Lost, Fringe and DW.

Favourite episodes - The Doctors Wife, A Good Man Goes to War, The Girl Who Waited and The Wedding of River Song.

Weakest episodes - The Curse of the Black Spot and Night Terrors but even they were stronger than some of the previous series weak episodes.

Favourite characters - Well obviously the core four, what can I say Matt Smith continues to impress as The Doctor, dare I say it 11 may have taken over 9 as my favourite Doctor.  Amy Pond gets a lot of hate from some parts of fandom but I love her, she has had to deal with so much this season and still keeps fighting.  Rory Williams the man they can't keep dead and thank god for that, loyal, funny and finally liked by the Doctor.  Then there is River Song, who I've loved since S4 and I am so happy to have found out her story now, always ready for some more adventures with Melody-Mels-River

Further thoughts - S7 should be very interesting with the Doctor attempting to keep a low profile but the Ponds knowing he is alive. Can't wait to see what happens.

  5. This season confused me more than anything in the world, and I loved it.What I like about Moffat is that he explores the concept of time travelling,he plays with it in a way Russel didn't.The first two episodes have a lot of this.A Good Man Goes To War,Lets Kill Hitler,The God Complex,Closing Time and The Wedding of River Song were the best for me.

  6. I voted good... loved the second half of the season, thought Moffat proved he's a million times better than Russell T.Davies...

Didn't like the flesh two parter, rubbish story, far too complicated up until the final minutes... In general the first half was much weaker than the second half, barring the opening episode and the one where the Tardis take human form which were both good.

Since it returned it found the right levels between fun (closing time) action (hitler, the wedding and the god complex) and some great doctor character development in the last few episodes...

Should be interesting to see where they go from here...

  7. I loved this season except for The Flesh and the Dark Spot Pirate one.  The Pirate one was one week late for International Talk Like a Pirate Day. ; )

  8. A solid season, and while I agree that the first half was weaker overall (with Impossible Astronaut, Day of the Moon, and the Doctor's Wife as wonderful exceptions), it finished strong, and the finale was, for me, pure gold.    Sentimental season 5 is still my favorite, but this year was still a gorgeous bit of work.

And for the record?  Matt Smith /is/ now my favorite Doctor.

  9. Enjoy it over all.  Lots of really fun eps.  At the moment I can only put up one episode where the ending felt a little muddy.  I actually had to check the Doctor Who Confidential to get a grip on the intention of a scene and clarify what i was lookign at.  (the hotel ep)  But over all I really enjoyed it  Hate the idea that Amy and Rory won't be traveling with the doctor anymore.  Loved the way out of the Doctor being killed in the first ep of the season

  10. Am I the only one who didn't like the season finale? The season started good with the Doctor dying, the expectations was built up there. I just felt like he got away to easy in the end. It made the episode quite boring. And another thing I don't like right now is River Song. She is a character who just should show up a bit now and then, not as much in the center as she is now. And in the "Silence in the Library" episode the expectations about who she was was built up, and i loved not really knowing who she was. I was disappointed to learn that she is Amy and Rory's daughter, it was just too much. And then marrying the doctor made that even worse. The Doctor is not the marrying kind.

Otherwise I LOVE this show! I just thought and hoped that this season would be better than it was.

  11. Season six was alright but I didn't like the tone of the season and there were too many episodes this season that were misses, like "The Curse of the Black Spot," "Night Terrors," and "The Girl Who Waited."

Season 6 was filled with too much angst, resentment, and self-loathing.  If it wasn't for a semi-regular infusion of jokes and merriment, this season would have been downright depressing.  The season finale didn't really do much to make up for it either, since it wasn't very believable or satisfying.

I hope next season is lighter and more adventurous, as opposed to grim and overly introspective.

  12. Quote from the 10th Doctor: "I'm rubbish at weddings.  Especially my own."

The First Doctor also had a granddaughter, Susan.  Odds are, the Doctor's been married before.   (In 1100 years, a lot can happen!)

  13. Not as good as season 5.  None of the episodes seemed to match each other.

  14. This was one of my favorite season so far. So many moments that were just spectacular, but in truth, I'm always impressed by this show.

  15. I'd love to see everything from a different perspective and see what a storylines like from a different doctor perspective. I'd have loved to see how tennant would have reacted to storylines such as the god complex and other storylines.

  16. I'm just not in love with Matt. I've kept watching but he's just not The Doctor of my heart.
