Maybe an idea for a Fringe case of the week; investigating those mysterious Nielsen boxes, that are used to count ratings, but that no one seems to own :D
I think it's rather funny how she pronounces the hard "R" in Peter, but lets the Aussie-ness slip out when saying things like There, and Here, (Theah, and Heah)
I like her attitude towards ratings. To be completely honest,I don't think they should expect ratings to go up because it's Fringe and not Grey;s anatomy or Gossip Girl!If you are accidentally pop into Fringe on a Friday night, just switching randomly through channels,I don't think you will actually sit and watch the epsimply because you can't understand a simple thing if you don't follow up with the show.Fringe is no easy-going romance show and it's not for everyone.Let's be realistic here, the ratings are not going to go up that much... I know everything happens because of money and money comes first no matter what but I think networks should take that in mind. And they should also check forums and sites to see how dedicated some of the fans are to the show.Maybe then they would stop the whole cancellation threat.
Shows like Fringe should end when their writers have finished telling the stories and not because of ratings...
But her accent is not that strong like it was three years ago. When I first watched Pilot I knew she wasn`t american. And I`m not even native English speaker and I knew her accent was fake. Now she`s way better. But it`s got its downsides - she loses her natural accent. She works in the enviroment full of Canadians or Americans and she speaks with American accent constantly on the set so it`s understandable. But yeah...it`s cute :-D
This is the best thing I`ve ever heared about Nielsen boxes :-D. But when you consider that only about 5000 (or 50 000?) households have them in the 300 milion country. Well I can see why none of you knows someone with the box.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Hah yeah I would love to meet someone with a box as well, I think they are mythical creatures!
ReplyDeleteNice interview, its always refreshing to hear how the actor reacts to the character they are playing!! :)
ReplyDeletei like her accent

Surely an evil machination of Walternate to get Fringe division over here shut down :)
ReplyDelete"You were right, they don't remember those with Nielsen boxes..."
ReplyDelete"How could they? They never existed...and even if they had, they wouldn't have served their purpose."
CUT TO BLACK.
FIN.
