I think it's fair to say I blue myself when I read this :
THERE IS A GOD ! HOLY SHIT !
Hey, FOX is planning a 2-hour comedy block next Spring, from mid-February to April, while friggin' Glee is on hiatus. It will include the second season of Breaking In, probably the new Rob Thomas comedy Little in Common (starring Rob Corddry and Heather Graham), perhaps new episodes of New Girl or Raising Hope (but FOX will want to keep new episodes to air alongside the last third of the third season of Glee though). There's room for a 9-10 episode fourth season of Arrested Development, actually this new Tuesday 2-hour comedy block would be the perfect opportunity !
I'm going to try and keep cool, the deal is not done yet, but we're closer than we've ever been to have this AD movie happen, and if there's a 10-episode season to introduce it, I say it's just absolutely fantastic !
EDIT : Things are getting more and more official as time goes by. Apparently, they plan on shooting it all this summer, the 9-10 episodes + the movie, so it won't be on FOX this Spring — it would've fit on Tuesdays but all the Arrested Development stars must have a busy schedule. Maybe the show will premiere in Autumn 2012 and the movie will get released in January 2013, that would work. I'm very hopeful.

HOLY FLIPPING CRAP.
ReplyDeleteIt's official, FOX is doing their best to be the best network ever! MORE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT AND A MOVIE!!!!!!?????
I DON'T BELIEVE IT!
And to top it all off, new Rob Thomas show!
Maybe they'll buy the rights to Veronica Mars and do a 10 episode lead-up to the VM movie?
No? Oh yeah, sorry I just got a little carried away?
WOW. This made my day, and I haven't even got to see the new episode of Dexter yet. :D
Dexter will double-make your day (Saw the leaked version, I couldn't wait ^^)
ReplyDeleteIn an unrelated note, I'm so happy they're bringing back Breaking In after all. Christian Slater and Michael Rosenbaum in the same show? That's gold, people!
*chicken dance*
ReplyDeleteMitch Hurwitz knows how many times there have been rumors that there would be an Arrested Development movie, it's been 4 years those rumors flotted around interviews of him or the cast. So I assume he wouldn't dare talk about a movie and a 4th season to preceed it if it wasn't close to a deal with FOX. I want to believe !
By the way, I'm extrapolating on the new Rob Thomas comedy, but FOX arrested the development of their other mid-season comedy pilot (Family Album) a few weeks ago, while they kept adding new cast members to Little in Common. With Breaking In season 2 confirmed (yay) and this 2-hour comedy block getting in shape, I say FOX will order episodes of this Rob Thomas show. It's gonna fun.
I couldn't believe it when I got a tweet. I went to a source and scoured it to see if it was old news and then it didn't happen or if it was fake. Imagine my glee when the source seemed legitimate. This is awesome news!
ReplyDeletethis sounds great, Love this show
ReplyDeleteOMG I AM SHAKING AND CRYING RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was so excited about this that I got the retweet to you guys wrong the first time xD.
ReplyDeleteAnd nice quote :P
After this quote I should be nice and relaxed for a 9:00 dinner reservation :P
Can you add the Arrested Development tag? Just realised it has one already.
ReplyDeleteWell, that was a freebie!
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, if this does happen there will be some serious happy people in urgent care centers all over the world need shots for aching stomach muscles and jaw muscles from laughing so hard!
VERY exciting news, but I have read Mitch and most of the cast saying it will happen for years now.
Ok skepticism aside I'm ready for some pop-pop... and the mere fact I call it pop-pop means I am ready for it!
This is amazing news... best news all week! :)
ReplyDeleteI just peed my pants.
ReplyDeleteThis better not be a trick!
ReplyDeleteA trick is something a whore does for money.... or cocaine [insert candy for TV edit]!
ReplyDeleteIf this continues to develop and is not more smoke blowing..... it will have made my season!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be doing another marathon on Netflix now. I've made a huge mistake. A wonderful, procrastinating mistake.
ReplyDeleteIt may be time for me to do another run through too!
ReplyDeleteAt the very least I will listen to Europe's "The Final Countdown" and fling playing cards across my living room with a knife between my teeth....
HUZZAH!
ReplyDeleteApparently they are talking to Showtime and Netflix, haven't read anything about talks with FOX so far.
ReplyDeleteYay, me jumping to conclusions again! :D
ReplyDeleteI'll believe it when I see it, but if it's true than I'm in. They have NOT made a huge mistake. :)
