The first airing delivered 3.2 million viewers and a 2.0 rating, tying the rating of the series debut of Nip/Tuck and was 33 percent higher than the first season premiere for Sons of Anarchy (1.5 million). Still, that’s down from the first episode of Justified, which bowed to 4.2 million, and The Shield, which had 4.8 million.
Across two airings last night, AHS delivered a total of 5 million viewers and a 3.2 million adults 18-49.

i thought it was very good, but looks like they goner stretch out the story somehow, i thought the performance of that handicaped girl was just amazing... looking forward to episode 2, glad it did well (so far)
ReplyDeleteI liked it,i sometimes found them trying to hard, but i hope they find their groove, its only their first outing.
ReplyDeleteJessica Lang rocks.
My hubby has been in the hospital and I am really sick. Just wanted to let you know why I haven't been here.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I finally watched America Horror Story. Everything that I read is exactly what I wanted to say. I now understand all the OMFG, Huh, Mom your not going to believe this show, I was getting texted from my daughter. I nearly choked on a peach when I saw what Dylan was doing after he saw the maid. They are really saving money on clothes w/Dylan. Not that I mind.
It will be interesting to see how many is watching next week. I thought it was awful. Everything happend too fast, the characters was not interesting enough (a shame, because there was some real good actors), poor dialog. Its a real shame, felt like it could have been a good story with good actors......but it just didn´t work.
ReplyDeleteOh I agree.
ReplyDeleteOnly the more sheltered viewers could be shocked by fairly mundane imagery. The one scene I found somewhat more disturbing was the fight turned forced sex turned passionate sex. Not one comment on it as disturbing and the fact that it was looked back on fondly by Connie Britton's character bothered me a little.
The pregnancy was too fast... well, everything was too fast Especially, the daughter falling for the patient of her dad's so fast and so much that she trusted him to set up the bitchy classmate. I would never trust some random psych patient to help me with ANYTHING after one or two hellos. XD
Ach well, I'm hoping they tone the 'shock' value down a bit now the pilot is over. Might have shocked people 30 years ago but a lot of it was a lil lame imo.
ReplyDeleteThe story need room to breath; I mean how quickly did she find out she was pregnant with the gimp kid for example O_o
Exactly. Had it been a 2-hour (or 90-minute even) premiere and had that amount of "shock" scenes with twice the character and story development it would have been much better.
ReplyDeleteYeah, some more characterisation would have been nice. It's a big cast and some didn't really have a chance to be anything more than a cliché, the school bully or burnt guy for example. If they'd have turned the kookiness down a bit there would have been a chance for them to be fleshed out more imo.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
ReplyDeleteTo me it felt like Murphy took his spin on his favorite horror movie film scenes and put them all in his "new and original" , "envelope pushing" series.
I feel like it's trying a bit too hard in places, everyone is kooky and acts like a cliché, lol.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was ok and I will continue to watch but I felt kinda like I was watching something while on drugs except without the drugs lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching now, can't make my mind up. It's pretty cheesy and stilted, but there's something about it, will give a few more eps I think.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I love the show.
