AMC Orders Comedy Presentation From Rob Roy Thomas

4 Oct 2011

AMC is venturing into half-hour comedy with a presentation order to Rob Roy Thomas’ How To Cheat On Your Wife. The single-camera comedy, which Thomas is writing, directing and executive producing, centers on four nice guys in flyover country dealing with middle age. Thomas originally shot a short presentation for the project on his own about six months ago. In it, the four friends meet the day after they are reunited at the funeral of their first dead friend. After seeing that footage, AMC put the comedy project in development and, as part of the development process, Thomas will film a new presentation. Thomas, creator of Fox’s Free Ride and co-creator of NBC’s Significant Others, is now tweaking the idea and will executive produce the presentation with Marc Provissiero and Naomi Odenkirk.

  1. I expected AMC to start thinking about comedy shows, but this doesn't sound very interesting at all. I expected something at least a bit more original or fresh. Also Rob Roy Thomas' previous projects don't make me very confident about this. Don't really expect this to go anywhere.

  3. I don't know, the title alone makes me not wanting to watch this.Sounds like they threw in Men Of A Certain Age with different names, and maybe different surroundings.

  5. Don't think you could compare it to Men of a Certain Age. That show was a drama with some funny moments, but definitely no comedy.

  6. So true, I didn't say Men of a certain age was a comedy.
