I'd like to share the news that the casting of the Original Mom begins. The casting sides for the character were published on Showfax:
She'll appear inepisode #308 for the first time. Here's the description of the character:
Esther, early to mid 40's, The MOTHER of the Original Family, as seen in flashbacks set over a thousand years ago. Beautiful, strong, fierce. Old world. A lioness protecting her cubs. Guest star, strong recurring role. English or Australian accent preferred.

oooo I was hoping we would see original families!
ReplyDeleteJust a quick question.. Is there anything new in the casting sides? Sometimes the writers re-use their old material, and I'm just wondering if I should bother with buying the file. Thanks in advance :)

ReplyDeleteThis seems picky, but I think you need to be careful with the accents of the actors...Klaus' accent is SO different than Elijah because Joseph and Daniel are from different parts of the world. Add a Swedish actress and the accents might be really off.

ReplyDeleteI assume, they want all of the Originals to speak with British accent. In 2x09 ("Katerina") the Originals were living in England, and we don't know how long it lasted. All in all, they all should speak with the same accent. Klaus speaks British English, Elijah did at first, but I've got the impression that he dropped this, but I'm not sure. English is my foreign language after all.

ReplyDeleteI hope that the personalities of some of the other Originals are a little less predictable.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure she's an obvious choice (English / Aussie preferred) but she's certainly not a choice I would ever object to. Sonya Walger would be good too.
ReplyDeleteYet I would hope that some of the originals split to some very different countries. The story would make sense if the original mother spent like her 200 years before becoming daggered by Klaus and put in a coffin.
ReplyDeleteImagine this story: Klaus is eager to break the curse, but some of the originals sees the danger in this and tries to stop him. Then, Klaus and Elijah (By that time still loyal to Klaus) trie to kill them and therefore an original burns all the white ash oak tree, knowing there's still other ways to kill Klaus (the witch way). Then the originals flee to different part of the world to hide from Klaus. Sweden, China, Russia, Canada, u name it.

ReplyDeleteShe was in another show with vampires : Moonlight. And a movie with vampire (actually, she was one!!) : Queen of the Damned. If Claudia is not cast for this part, I'd say Alex Kingston (she's english, and sometimes guest starring on Doctor Who as River Song)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth may be a great actress, but she doesn't have the english/aussie accent. Why not Elizabeth Mitchell as Sherif Forbes sister ?
