Thanks to www.mycoven.com for the heads up
The CW has added a new description of season 7 on their website, most of it is a recap of season 6 but here's some new-ish stuff:
[...]Now, despite Sam and Dean's efforts to stop him, Castiel has succeeded in his plan. His power is God-like, and Sam and Dean have no idea how to stop him. But even Castiel doesn't truly understand the magnitude of what's inside him -- or how dangerous he really is.
Season seven finds Dean and Sam reeling from the loss of their friend. Sam's violent memories of Hell threaten to overtake him, threatening not just his life, but his brother's as well. Meanwhile, Dean struggles under the weight of a secret that threatens to tear them apart. And even as the brothers traverse the backroads of America, hunting things that go bump in the night, something is coming for them. They are about to face an enemy more canny and adaptable than any they've ever fought. As the landscape around them becomes increasingly treacherous, the tools they've come to rely upon will be stripped away. Our heroes, like so many outlaws before them, will find themselves utterly outmatched and outgunned, with no one to rely on but each other.[...]

ReplyDeleteCool, if you get time could you email them over to me so I can post later. I'm just on my phone at the moment.
ReplyDeleteokay i will do so right away
ReplyDeleteI was incredibly excited for Season 6 at less than 3 weeks out from the premiere, but man I am totally beside myself for S7. I can't wait to see how it al pans out :)
ReplyDeleteis it okay if i send you links to the post on The Site via email which i have sent now
ReplyDeleteI really hope they don't kill of Bobby. And if they can start using the Colt again, that would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteReally looking forward tot he start of season 7, sounds great.
ReplyDeleteI don't think ive ever been this excited for a new season of anything!! If only it was starting this week!!
ReplyDeletethanks for this :D
ReplyDeleteI can't decide which part of the synopsis freaks me out the most...
ReplyDeleteThey haven't been this secretive since they introduced Cas and the angels.Makes you wonder what the hell they came up with!
So much for the brothers on the same page? It seems like a big step back to be keeping secrets again. Or is it new in answer to fan complaints regarding no spoilers for Dean. I'd rather have none than this.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about the other parts, but the news for Dean, not at all.
Couldn't agree more. This sounds interesting but it freaks me out at the same time. Specially part: "Dean struggles under the weight of a secret that threatens to tear them apart". Not again!
ReplyDeleteEverything I read makes me more excited for September 23rd to get here. It is looking better every day. I can hardly wait. What secret is Dean keeping that can hurt them?
ReplyDeleteSounds really exciting!
ReplyDeleteNow hopefully this "Dean keeps a secret" is well thought and plotted and doesn't paint Dean as the bad brother.
I mean you never know, after this suburbia-chick-flick-crap Dean got last season, this better is a well written storyline.
So cannot wait!
ReplyDeleteMe too. I just hope they don't screw this up.
ReplyDeleteMy bets are on the secret being Cas related - that Cas survived or that Dean helped him in some way. That's the one issue that I could see the brothers splitting on at this time. Sam will probably want to kill Cas early next season but I don't think Dean is ready to say goodbye yet, and Dean would feel like he was betraying Sam by helping Cas.
ReplyDeleteOne interesting detail that was edited out of this blurb is that the summary says that their mother was killed 26 years ago. They subtracted two years from their timeline (should be 28). It's probably an error, but it got me thinking back to the discussion a few months back to whether the kid in 7.3 could be Sam's son, and we decided he couldn't because the age wasn't right. Well, if this summary is right, the age works again. I don't want the kid to be Sam's - Sam has enough going on right now - but I'm wondering now.
Overall, it sounds like a great season ahead and I'm cautiously optimistic. "Cautiously" because how well it's implemented makes a big difference. All Dogs last year sounded hilarious from its summary.
I suspect the first few paras of the 'About' section - which summarise events from s1 to s6 - were written a while back and another para about the up coming season gets added on each year. In other words I think the '26 years ago' reference is an oversight rather than anything significant to the plot.
ReplyDeleteI am really excited about the season and these spoilers. I share peoples' concerns about the implication that Dean will be keeping a secret from Sam and that it might 'tear them apart'. I am totally done with any more strife / division between Dean and Sam, and on the face of it this sounds very season 2 and repetitive. However it all depends on the details. And as everyone involved with the show has confirmed that the boys will be a unit this season I am not stressing about it.
I am really looking forward to s7. The 23rd can't come soon enough for me.
can't wait to see this new season!!
ReplyDeleteARGH this is just SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!! I NEED THE SHOW!!!! need it! seriously, this hellatus wasnt that bad for me but now ITS PHYSIVLY PAINFUL!
ReplyDeletesorry :P im good... NOT
well if it "threatens to tear them apart" that means they arnt right now so thats good... last time was when? end of season 3
ReplyDeleteI disagree with this after what was said at ComicCon and has been said repeatedly. Sam doesn't want to kill Cas. Sam's the one more willing to cut him some slack. Dean is the one who sees Cas completely gone to him. I also do not think that they mean something will come in between the brothers in an emotional/mental way. I took it to mean that they could literally be separated from one another. Dean taken from Sam. I think it's going to have something to do with Death, not Cas. And I definitely do not see Sam being so petty as to feel betrayed by Dean if Dean DID want to help Cas. Sam isn't so lame that he would let something like that come between him and his brother. Sam loves Dean way too much for that.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for season 7 to get here.i'm more intrigued than worried about Dean struggling with a secret that could tear Dean&Sam apart.I think the description might be making it sound bigger than it is.Dean kept a secret for Sam in season 6 when he didn't tell Sam about letting him get turned by the vampire after Sam got his soul back. That turned out just fine Sam understood he even said as much to Dean.so not to worried about that.
ReplyDeleteI
Yeah, there's a difference for me as well.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I was hoping we could avoid secrets for at least 1 season. -.-
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree. Why would he have a secret NOW? I don't understand why they have to give the brothers secrets lol
ReplyDeletemore like every season since season 2.
ReplyDelete"Dad told me something... Something about you..." "What is it Dean?"
"You didn't tell me you were working with a demon!? They want us dead, we want them dead! Period."
"I got off that rack and started torturin'..." --Start of the apocalypse.
"You're sucking down more poison, and more evil!"
"Sam, something's different with you..."
It's not exactly a new device they're throwing in here.
These were exactly my thoughts about Dean's secret. It'll be something about Cas.I think that he'll disappear after episode 2,presumably dead, and then he'll come back.My guess is the mid season finale. It makes sense because the writers always try to tie all the storylines together.
ReplyDeleteMy only problem is that at Comic-Con they said to different things about Sam's relationship with Cas.I've read somewhere that Sam will have some issues with Cas(understandably),but Jared also said in an interview that Sam will believe that Cas is still worth saving. Both would make sense and I wonder what it's gonna be.
Wow was going to make a long post but it was all said in the posts below.
ReplyDeleteJust to clarify a few things. ... I didn't say Sam would see it as a betrayal. I said Dean would feel like he was betraying Sam. And if Dean does something like letting Cas walk away, that doesn't necessarily mean he's forgiven him. It just means he's not ready to kill him. Also, I don't really think the kid is Sam's. I can't imagine why anyone would think this was good timing to introduce another Winchester kid into the mix. I was just noting the timeline discrepancy and how it changes things if it's not an error.
ReplyDeleteThe Death idea is interesting. I wonder though why Dean would lie about it. Their lies to each other are usually about personal things, not about the monster they are fighting. As for Sam wanting to kill Cas, if it was season 2 Sam I'd agree with you, but it sounds like Sam is going to be pretty messed up when we see him again, and he may not be functioning on the "forgive your neighbor" level yet. The forgiveness discussion that was talked about at ComCon might be further along in the season. Let's not forget, the finale showed Sam absorbing the personalities of soulless Sam and Hell Sam into amnesia Sam, so I'd expect some changes in his personality (some of the toughness of soulless Sam and some of the despair of Hell Sam).
Yeah, I'm with you...
ReplyDeleteMy mistake. I apologize for misunderstanding.
ReplyDeleteI think Dean would lie about it because if it were possible that Dean may be taken away from Sam, Dean wouldn't want to put this on Sam on top of everything else he's currently dealing with. He's trying to decipher realities, and he's suffering from endless Hell trauma on top of the soullessness from this past year as well. I think Dean would keep something like that from Sam to protect him. Maybe Dean fears that Sam will crack under the pressure. He's truly going to be struggling. Sera said that there will be a break in Sam's psyche that may not be fixable. I don't think we're gonna really see a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde thing here. I think Hell is going to far surpass the soullessness. If soullessness comes into play, it'll be Sam's guilt more than I see him going soulless again.
nay I meants we havnt gotten them "together" happy lovy brotherly since s3.
ReplyDeleteI know the lying's been there for ever haah
I actually kinda disagree with that. I think after Point of No Return we did have them back. Then again in S6 after Sam got his soul back we had them back.
ReplyDeleteDunno, it was to short lived. but true end of season 6 we got it back but start of season 7 and end of 6 is the same "time"... if I'm not making sense sorry :P
ReplyDeleteI think I might be understanding what you're saying. Are you saying that it's going to be the same in S7? That their bond will be broken? Because I truly do not think that's what this spoiler implied. I think it implied that it could take Dean away from Sam, vice versa. Tear them apart physically, not emotionally.
ReplyDeletewell not exactly but i did think it was meant emotionally. And please be right ahhah! I do LOVE angst its to much ahaha
ReplyDeleteWhy does either brother have to be painted as a "bad brother"? Emotions and conflict are a natural part of close relationships. It's human nature, and it doesn't mean that one is bad and the other is good.
ReplyDeleteI honestly could not agree with this more!!! THANK YOU for saying it!
ReplyDeleteOMG 18 MORE DAYS!!!! I am so excited and I just want it back already
ReplyDeleteI just expressed my hope/opinion that Dean didn't end up "being painted as the bad brother" for keeping a secret from Sam.
ReplyDeleteGee, you express your opinion and get lectured on relationships? No offense chris684, but I feel that wasn't necessary.
comicfangirl, I don't think that chris was trying to lecture you, but if anything give you a better outlook on their relationship. They tried painting Sam as a bad brother once, it didn't work. I don't think they're going to do the same to Dean.
ReplyDeleteSorry. I didn't mean to sound like I was lecturing you. My reaction was more a response to the fandom in general and all of the finger pointing that goes on whenever any of the characters show flaws or do anything that's too human. I like the relationship drama element of the show and I don't understand all of the character hatred out there.
ReplyDeleteI also do hope they're going to do the same to Dean, but when it comes to Dean I don't really have faith in Ms. Gamble and her team after what they did to Dean in Season 6 with the pointless, almost-neverending- L&B-plot.
ReplyDeleteSo expect the worst again, and hope to be proven wrong.
From season 1 on I always felt, that the brothers were treated as equally important, and I felt that with season 6 that ended. I do hope season 7 will rectify this.
The funny thing is I don't think it's the show that paints any of the characters as good or bad. There always seems to be a little bit of a balance between right and wrong on both sides of the conflict, whether that's between Sam and Dean in seasons 4 and 5 or between Dean/Sam and Cas in season 6. It's a lot of the fans who seem to need to put labels on the characters.
ReplyDelete*__* 85% of the waiting over....I CAN'T WAIT
ReplyDeleteI apologize for reacting in that manner to you post chris. I guess I'm a bit thin-skinned with 18 days of hellatus left. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI'm really don't want to see Dean or Sam feeling guilty for the zillion-st time for keeping a secret, making a deal or anything like that.
I feel there is so much thrown at them from new opponents and enemies, so even if SPN is a drama show, I rather have the brothers stick together as family and face those trails and tribulations as a team.
If their world crashes around them, that should be the drama not the brothers being teared apart once again, only to find each other just before the final battle arises. I feel we had that so often, not again in season 7, please.
LOL I suppose in a few months we see that all our worries we have now were in vain, because we took the little knowledge of the plot too seriously or not seriously enough, and everything takes a turn we did not see coming.
I'd like this season to have more even pacing and more even storytelling, both of which were very (sometimes frustratingly) uneven.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this :)
ReplyDeleteI really hope it's not the Cas thing; it'd be a pretty ugly brush to paint Dean by to have him help Cas and lie to Sam about it, especially since the subterfuge would mean Sam hadn't forgiven Cas yet and is still reeling from the effects of what Cas did (and intentionally let keep harming him, according to spoilers from Misha). That definitely doesn't sound like the Dean Winchester I know and love, especially when he's having to watch Sam suffer day in and out. :/
ReplyDeleteThanks for this. Can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to Dean's secret! I'm like 75% sure it has something to do with Death. Like, maybe he gives Dean a life-threatening illness or something, thanks to Dean making him angry, and Dean, being all stoic about it, doesn't tell Sam. Alright, I'm totally fangirling and basically describing the plot to a bad fanfiction but...think about it! It could work! Would certainly explain the whole 'changing landscape, canny, adaptable enemy' type of thing! I don't think their own bodies betraying them would be an enemy they've fought before and diseases are the most slippery, adaptable sons of bitches on the planet! Well, here's hoping! I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Dean being all weak and helpless and sick, especially after the mostly Sam-centric Season 6! :D
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting theory - that the big bad could hit them as an illness. I think you might be onto something, that maybe we should be thinking beyond the usual suspects - demons, monsters, ghosts, and so on.
ReplyDeleteYou have got to be kidding me. Mostly Sam-centric Season 6? No... hardly. Also, the boys have been hit with illness. Pestilence already attacked them. This is Supernatural, not Grey's Anatomy or General Hospital. If they did do a Dean is weak or sick, this wouldn't be a whole season thing... maybe one episode. Not a whole season.
ReplyDeleteI guess I was thinking that Cas might not be totally in charge now. The monster souls inside him might be calling the shots now, but Cas might break from that at some point, and it would be the real Cas whom I could see Dean helping.
ReplyDeleteAnother overly dramatic negatively painted description by the CW and talking points we've heard before why am I not surprised. They left out some pretty big thing revealed at Comic Con like the law will be after the boys in Season 7 and lots of other good things about the brothers and the brotherly relationship which is really what this show is all about. Quoting Jensen word for word from a Comic Con interview on Sam and Dean "I feel the relationship is squared away. Sam is obviously battling some demons internally so I think Dean is kind of keeping a watchful eye out for his brother not in a are you going to turn on me but in a I'm don't want to let you fall. So you know it's that brother supporting a brother thing and I think that's a big part of this show and I'm glad we're back to that this year."
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to brothers relationship being back to what it used to be and IMO should never have left and them on the road againjust the two of them fighting evil side by side (not each other) and doing things for themselves and getting out of jams with their smarts and skills like they used to.
thanks not sure how I feel about the description though
ReplyDeleteAlright. Bite me. Geez, chill out. I was discussing a possible theory. I even SAID it sounded like a bad fanfiction, idiot. And how the hell can you say it wasn't Sam-centric? Do you mean it was Castiel-centric? Because I sure as hell saw hardly anything of Dean last season, except when he was dicking around with Lisa and Ben who, by the way, were the most poorly-used characters I have ever seen (though I did like them). First, there was the big reveal...Sam's back from Hell! *GASP* Then, "something's wrong with him", then NO SOUL, finally, soul goes back in and "don't scratch the wall". With the sprinklings of bad memories like in 'Unforgiven' and the wall actually collapsing, this has to be the most Sam-centric season I have ever seen! I'm going to assume from your username that you're a Sam girl, which is fine, I love both brothers to pieces, but you really ought to sharpen up, stop being a bitter twisted bitch towards others just for suggesting silly ideas about spoilers and start appreciating just how much screen-time your precious Sammy got last season. Understand?
ReplyDeleteLOL it's probably super-farfetched and should probably keep to the confines of the fanfic world but, I dunno, I feel like it could work. Even if it that isn't how it pans out, I'm still certain it will be Death-related, simply from the whole 'leaving Dean to face a very angry Death' thing I read elsewhere. But, I totally agree with expecting the unexpected and looking beyond the usual suspects. =)
ReplyDeletelol Did you just call me an idiot? Are you yelling at me? Oh wow, and you're calling me a bitter, twisted bitch? What are you, 12? Reported.
ReplyDeleteOh, bless. She removes a comment (Sorry, am I 'presuming' too much? Are you not a 'she'?). Wow. What are you gonna do next, hmm? I'm looking forward to the encore. If you have a problem with my responses, don't comment in the first place! Like you said, I posted MY opinion on how I thought the preview could manifest in Season 7 and you came straight back with criticisms I could already SEE in my own comment. Forgive ME for expressing my views and defending MY original comment. I cannot do anything but repeat the fact that you shouldn't have replied in the first place if you didn't like my conclusions. I can admit perfectly that I'm bitter and twisted. It's a part of my personality that seems to show up, oddly enough, when I'm confronted or in the company of morons such as yourself. Similarly, my assumptions about you don't look nearly as 'foolish' as the fact that you responded talking about defending your own opinion when you were quite quick to shoot down my first comment. It says quite clearly at the top of the comments, if you don't like a comment, don't reply. Don't try and turn that back on me, either. I have every right in the world to defend myself against you when you should have just kept your mouth shut in the first place. So, way to go. You've succeeded in looking like an idiot. Again.
ReplyDeleteOkay... for one, *I* didn't remove your comment, the mods did. And for two, STOP insulting me. There's a difference between defending your opinion and INSULTING me by calling me a twisted bitch and an idiot. And I posted my opinion. I think your theory sucks and is about the most ridiculously lame thing I ever heard. There, you happy? Now leave me alone. I am reporting you again for harassment.
ReplyDeleteLeave you alone!? Clearly, you are missing the point. Fair enough, I apologise for being rude and calling you degrading names. I know my theory sucks - it's like looking at the summary for a bad fanfic, which I already said. It was a fun thought and potential take on what little information we've been given. Excuse me if it doesn't live up to your own model of how you think S7 should go. I just cannot understand people who insist on getting on their high horse when they are the ones who should have known better in the first place. You should have left ME alone. Should have left me happily to posting my lame-ass theory and gotten on with your existence. Instead, you shoot down my comment and then act surprised when I come to its defence. What, you've never been confronted before? Never had someone actually beat down and question YOUR suggestions about how the season could pan out? No? Well, now you have. Don't reply to this. I've apologised for all that was wrong with my comments (which was insulting you and your level of intellect. Sorry, again) and now you have the chance to do what you should have done in the first place and stay your tongue. Don't ruin it again, or I'll just keep replying and 'harassing'.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious as well
ReplyDeleteI really hope it's not the Cas thing; it'd be a pretty ugly brush to paint Dean by to have him help Cas and lie to Sam about it, especially since the subterfuge would mean Sam hadn't forgiven Cas yet and is still reeling from the effects of what Cas did (and intentionally let keep harming him, according to spoilers from Misha). That definitely doesn't sound like the Dean Winchester I know and love, especially when he's having to watch Sam suffer day in and out. :/
ReplyDelete
