Hey All,
We are back once again. It's only been a few days since our last podcast but this marks the start of our weekly podcast, starting with a super-sized edition covering lots of new and returning shows.

We are also coming back bigger and better. Last week we tested a video podcast and because it became so popular and got some good feedback we are now going to do video and audio podcasts. Both of which can also be watched/listened to via mobile devices. As always, if there is a specific show/topic you would like us to cover or have some questions or feedback please email us at podcast@spoilertv.com.

In this weeks podcast we talk about new shows such as Terra Nova & Suburgatory. Some returning shows including Dexter, Happy Endings & House. We discuss the summer finales of Suits, Torchwood and True Blood and some of the returning shows including Fringe, Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and Castle. We also cover two new shows Person of Interest and Unforgettable. We cover a whole load more of shows to, so please check it all out.

The audio podcast is live on itunes and available to listen via the audio player or download link below. Also don't forget to subscribe! Or you can watch our new video podcast and let us know what you think.

Please enjoy and follow us all on Twitter or email us at podcast@spoilertv.com

  4. @Supernatural : Unless the 18-49 ratings dip down to 0.5 or something, SPN really isn't in that much danger of cancellation... Look at the CW...there's only 1 or 2 shows (The Vampire Diaries, and The Secret Circle, and last year, Supernatural) that could get a 1.0 or higher in the ratings... However, the part about the show "fighting" to remain, I would argue more that now Sera Gamble is finally settled in her role as showrunner: She's more in tune with what the show needs to be/feel like (instead of the noir that marred last year's storyline...it could've been much much better, but it ended up sloppily thrown together in places)
But yeah, the premiere was spectacular. I loved how freaky it was! They're finally bringing the twisted humor and the darker stranger stuff to the forefront again! How could you NOT talk about Death's verbal smackdown with Castiel? Or how hysterical it was to find Crowley in an RV park in Tennessee? or even the "trenchcoat on a tortilla?" I'm glad you enjoyed it, but it'd be nice to know which parts stood out to you the most.

    Into the world of Fringe:
I really enjoyed the episode. I will say that like CJ I was surprised that Supernatural had the bigger opening than Fringe, but Fringe needed that episode to just show what the new world without Peter was. The case was a good throwback to the pilot, Lincoln Lee was utilized well in my opinion, and the Peter flashes that were happening throughout the episode probably excited me more than they should have!

The thing that freaked me out about this new world is Olivia and Astrid. Astrid has no patience for Walter (or at least not nearly as much as she did before) and Olivia is downright hostile! I kind've like the change in one way because while we've seen Olivia get fed up here and there and become upset and lose her temper, we usually just see her shut down or get upset emotionally and become quiet. Not this time! She's not to be screwed with because apparently life has been worse on her for no having Peter in her life, which makes her (along with the obvious regression of Walter) very tragic. The whole episode felt deadpan in a good way though: had it not been for how often they brought up "something's Missing" one-liners or whatever, it would've been the perfect non-explanatory look into the world of Fringe sans Peter. The whole episode was drenched in cynicism, you could tell that each of the characters (although I'd argue, mostly Olivia) didn't seem like they had a real purpose for what they were doing. Obviously something was missing. lol

Person of Interest:  Jim Caviezel - Just remember that everyone said the same thing about Olivia Dunham...
Also, the pilot was entertaining. They need to make it less predictable, give the characters some dynamic material (like you said about the one-tone seriousness)  maybe keep up the explosions and stuff, and maybe turn up the pace, and it could be a great series!

  5. Sorry about video quality. Because I don't have a laptop at min (henr I ain't on cam) it takes forever to upload and get out in time

Next week I'm hoping to have a laptop and give you guys the proper version :)

Hope you all enjoyed our bumper issue. Was one of the funniest ones we've done yet

  6. No worries... this is impressively done sans laptop!

  7. It's like a mini version of Hollywood Squares or The Brady Bunch! I'll take ODI in the upper left for the block!

I will be very interested in hearing all your opinions about Terra Nova next week! XD

I have to agree with Heather.... I think Happy Endings is quirky in a good way... New Girl is quirky in a bad way.

Well if you pod-casters ever need to get CJ to be quiet I think you have stumbled upon his kryptonite... mention Desperate Housewives! XD It seems to work as a mute button for him....

    Re: Torchwood
Ha! XD Yeah it was a mess this year. Remove Oswald completely, take away half of Rex's "Ow my chest" moments and it would have been a better, more streamlined 5 episode season! I think the finale of the season was ridiculous.

True Blood finale was a bit a yawn fest to me despite the twists. The penultimate episode was the finale and it should have ended there. Most of the scenes in the actual finale episode should have been episode 1 of Season 5. At least they killed Tommy, Jesus and Tara, but I'm betting only two of them stick and stay dead. I think Alan Ball is doing to True Blood what Ryan Murphy did to Glee last season. It is becoming more about shock than story and each season is getting progressively worse in that respect. Overall this was better than Season 2 for me but worse than last year and no where near Season 1.

    Re: Fringe
I agree ODI, I loved the changes in the universe. I actually saw OurLee replacing Olivia more than Peter. He was the new member to the team like she was in the pilot. He seems to be the one making key connections while Olivia is piecing things together more like Peter did in the pilot.

I thought Decaying-Guy was Peter too... the smile in particular felt VERY Joshua Jackson to me.

I hope they do not rush Peter back. I know some miss him, but to me this change in the universe is far more interesting. I think the 'Where is Peter?' campaign was a horrible mistake! It makes people concentrate on Peter when they should be concentrating on the new universe and their changes. These changes are important and many are just waiting for them to be over so their beloved Peter returns.

If you were in the live chat Adam I said the same thing about the Shapeshifters v2.0 and Peter. I thought it may be his attempt to get back to this reality much like you just said. Walternate doesn't make sense to me, but Peter is a genius in his own right, knows the basics of  Shapeshifter anatomy and their genetic make up, and has a reason to be sending minions through. Walternate has no reason to do so right now as far as we know.

I do hope the MOTW business ends quick though. I know that they relate the MOTW to the over arc usually, and this one did in some ways, but I think FRINGE is strongest when it does myth-arc episodes usually. I fear if they are kinda of calling back to the first season to show how things are similar but different that there could be more MOTW like in Season One.

    Good stuff as usual...

  8. Maybe I did not notice the attitude changes as much... or I was not as put off by it many people because cynicism is in my wheel well? XD I kinda live there, vacation there and start wars with the neighboring countries of Delusia and Optomisia...

  9. really loving how the video podcast is coming together . I enjoyed the Torch wood discussion and I am glad I am not the only one that thought the ending seemed forced and btw I was not impressed that Rex now has whatever Cap'n Jack has. Am I correct in remembering that Rose Tyler is the one that made Cap'n Jack come back to life due to being full of power from the time vortex and that because it was so powerful it gave him these amazing regenerative powers and it was believed he might be immortal , but as we know from Doctor Who that Jack does eventually die after millions of years after becoming the Face of Boe. So how is it that Rex is now regenerating? We know that being transfused with Jacks blood would have nothing to do with it. I thought that was really stupid and don't know why they did that. I personally was glad Esther died because I hated her. She turned on Cap'n  Jack about the floor thing , also because she turned on her sister and naively called the authorities to " help". She works for the government she knew what they would do and tried to act all shocked & innocent about it. I just could not stand her so good riddance to her whiny -  hiney! I also was disappointed that not more people tuned in to watch Supernatural. I loved the season premiere and was very impressed with the special effects. Misha Collins was phenomenal as he went from being all arrogant and smitey and just not getting why people were not understanding his way of running things to so remorseful for what he had done to being absolutely wonderfully gleefully crazy as a well ,  a ummm... creature  who having been on an extended time out would really like to come and play ... with mankind until it stops moving or breathing for that matter.  I liked how they used Dean repairing the Impala to give you a sense of the amount of time that was passing while the events of the episode were happening. It was fun to see Crowley again and I thought Mark Sheppard really played it for lolz. As for Mark Pellagrino he was delightful as Lucy but I am not really sure why he was wearing the Nick suit? Maybe that is how we are to know he really is just a Hell - lucination and not the real Lucifer. I am trying to go back and get up to speed on Fringe so I am not watching the new until I am caught up but it looks interesting. Also I think I will have to check out Suburgatory  because you guys peaked my interest. So looking forward until your next pod cast and hopefully  we will get to see ALL  of you guys next time.

  10. I did totally forget  to mention I loved Death so much. Loved how the only reason he seemed to consider not abandoning Earth all together was because Castiel is " such an annoying little angel" and maybe also because we have the best fried pickle chips

  11. LOL I thought of both Brady Bunch and Hollywood Squares as well!! :)

Interesting point about Lincoln more like Olivia than Peter.  I guess you are right but maybe I felt it was more about the void Peter left.

I agree with you about the Where is Peter Bishop? campaign, but they had to do that unfortunately because there are too many fans that would stop watching or be pissed if they did not hear or see that campaign.

At the same time, I also feel if you have the balls to make him disappear then go with the flow, but hey it all comes down to the money and I understand why they did it.  Same way I understand this episode was to establish Peter is still "some where".

  12. It just felt so different in tone. Maybe rewatch and see what I mean? :D

  13. OH you aren't wrong in seeing it... I saw it too.

I guess I was looking forward to seeing each character's changes from everything pre-WTFiP (where the f#$% is Peter) and found it to be one of the more interesting parts of the episode.

Having the characters almost regress and seeing this side of them - how they'd be having never met Peter - will make for a very dramatic character arc over the course of the season. Especially when Peter does inevitably return!

I'm going to seriously enjoy this Peter-less Fringe while it lasts!

  14. Thanks for listening and we are glad you liked it! Unfortunately I do not watch Torchwood or Supernatural so I can't really comment.

From what we have seen and heard though about ratings, that the show should be ok. :)

  15. Yeah, if you watched Torchwood, we wouldn't have had to explain the Blessing's appearance to you. :P
