  1. I thought it was a solid second episode. They're really putting a lot of effort into selling the attractiveness of their cast, though.

  3. I thought this episode was marginally better than the first.  My biggest problem is that I find no character even remotely likable except the grandma.  I'd prefer that Faye had flown off the dock and that no crystal could revive her.  We see more of Cassie's back than face as she is constantly running away.  I hope she has stock in Converse.  Sidekick witch is a pushover and slutty witch proved he wasn't worth her sleeping with him.  Love interest witch needs to change the expression from constantly mooning over Cassie and looking guilty over Diana.  Every single adult, minus grandma, sucks big time.  I find I don;t care one iota about any of these characters and would be far more interested if they had a huge witch brawl and took each other out.

  4. A much better episode.... for whatever that's worth.
This one had good pacing and a flow to it that felt more in line with what I expected from the series.

I really don't find any of the younger witches interesting with the possible exception of Cassie. Although as of the first two episodes she is playing the doe caught in the headlights a bit too much.

Faye I just hate. No, I do not mean I like hating her... just hate. Boring cardboard cutout of the clueless troubled maker with no redeeming value. Speaking of no redeeming value, tag-a-long witch is possibly even more boring than Faye. The the supposed dark and brooding warlock dude is more tool than cool.

Adam and Diana I am more neutral about.... which is a big step up from the previous witches so I guess that's good right? I mean they both are boring but at least they attempt to bring some variety into their portrayals. The problem is Thomas Dekker and Shelley Henning are not good actors so their attempts  fail half the time..

The adults have potential though....even if they are not showing it right now. I have seen both Natasha Henstridge and Gale Harold in roles where they showed they are capable actors. It's almost as if the director and creative team are looking for obvious performances and make them redo any take that had subtlety in it. Occasionally something a bit less obvious slips past the director as far as Mama Chamberlain goes, but Papa Meade is really coming off as 1-note as he can right now.

All those critical points aside, I found I enjoyed this episode for the most part. The plot interests me more than the characters right now. I need some of the actors to step up for me to keep watching. I mean it's rarely a good sign when your episode guest stars are better actors and giving better performances than than your regulars.....

I will give this one more episode, two max to see if the performances pick up at all. I hope they do.

  5. I agree, but I would substitute "too much effort" in place of "a lot of effort".....

  6. Decent 2nd ep, but l feel like I'm still waiting for something to happen, either character or storywise. I agree with some that right now the cast is attractive, but largely unmemorable. The only one that sticks out is the Faye character, and I'm not certain if it's because she's playing it too heavy/over the top or if the others are just too "meh" so far. I hope that KW kicks the development into a higher gear here soon....

  7. I think it's good. The ratings sucked but it seems like there are a lot of new shows this year so the recurring shows are suffering! I think Secret Life will make it!

  8. I like the principal a little more for her stance on killing random teenagers.

  9. Amen to that, Dahne.

  10. I liked it more than the Pilot. But still the witches are not really interessting, at least the young ones. I like the plot about the Principal and Dianias father wanting their powers back more than the plotlines about the young witches.

"the secret lame " lol am joking though partly not. Cause Cassie aint that a good actor or the rest Thomas is the worst it's just bland for me hope it picks up

  12. I'd trade that effort in for a better effort toward making the supporting characters interesting.  Adam, Diana, Melissa, and Nick all seem very dull and relatively nondescript.

  13. if it weren't for the actual story with the witchcraft and the adult witches, this would be pretty boring. i find all of the witches in the young circle really boring, with the exception of faye who is just over the top
apart from cassie and adam (i think is his name) the other 3 seem really pointless. hoping the characters pick up soon.
