  1. Loved it. The dialogue needed a bit of work, but it was great to see Ben Linus again.

  2. Given how much CBS has been bragging about how well this show did with their test audiences, I was a bit underwhelemed. It was kind of polished and an interesting concept, but I'm not sure how much actual substance there is there, and the lead guy (Jim Caveziel?) was positively WOODEN.

  3. My two cents, feels like Enemy of the State meets Minority Report.  Top casting across the board.  It'll be a great reveal each week to see if the person of interest is good or bad.  Overall, prettty good.  But the Thursday@9 timeslot is gonna be tough.

  4. My uncle gets told he has a steel wool beard , but wow! Reese's beard looked like steel wool bad!

I almost died when I heard Michael say "I have a list..." and it stopped and then he said.... " They are LOST causes..."

That had to take a few takes! XD

Why does Michael Emerson always get roles where people him are asking where the numbers come from? Just sayin'.....

The pilot was a nice adrenaline fueled action thriller. I can see all kinds of potential for plots and stories coming out of "the program". I really like the idea that they may not always be rescuing good people - sometimes they may be the perpetrators not the victims.

I love the REese character already. Serios badass! The way he handled Detective Fusco was just CLASSIC! XD

Suspension of disbelief was quite easy since the show was just so damned enjoyable!

The pacing was a little odd to me, but that's very common with pilots. I liked the action, I like the preimse a lot, and I think it has a lot of potential to be one of the few hits of the year.

  5. I wonder how many times Finch said "LOST"?  2 or 3 for sure....

  6. People have been calling James Caviezel wooden for years, but I think it fits the character this time.

He's a broken man that is as much machine as the machine Finch gets the numbers from. After losing the woman he loved he just does not feel anymore. So, for me, the delivery of the lines was as it should be , stoic.

I won't defend him too much though honestly. It was pretty 1-note and may get old to me if it does not evolve a bit.

  7. IKR!? I was snickering at that all episode.

  8. Since shows usually greatly improve over their pilot, I'm totally on board because this was a solid one. Caviezel's character is a bit stoic and "wooden" but I kinda liked that about his character...

Either way I hope it stays good and there's more to the story than we'd expect!

  9. I never like 1 second title carrds.. EVER!

I expect and hope there will be a full credit reel in episode two. Some series do not have a show open for pilots, but then once the series is picked up they create a show open and have it for the rest of the episodes.

Sadly, others (unnamed) decide to keep a 1-second title card since it is so cost effective.

  10. Yes, I was hoping that would be the case. We'll wait for next week's I guess.

  11. Great start. Familiar premise like some have mentioned, (throw in the "Wanted" movie as well) but definitely entertaining. Sure some work to do in the character part, but overall a solid pilot and always great to see Micheal Emerson onscreen.

  12. I loved it.  I already love James Caviezal (ever since I saw him in Frequency)  I think they did a good job of only sort of explaining how the "machine" worked...basic points but just enough for the computer literate to extrapolate but without the confusing technospeak.

fun, I liked the fact that they don't really start with anything but a name.  It has lots of potential.  I'll be checkign it out weekly.

  13. That's the movie I thought of when I heard the premise. Like a combination of Wanted and and old TV series called The Equilizer (starred Edward Woodward).

  14. Absolutely loved it! Loved the story, the characters and the acting but most of all loved seeing Michael Emerson back on my screen again.

Can't wait to find out more about their backstories.

  15. prpleight Frequency is one of my fav films. Love Caviezal.

  16. The premise and the two leads are interesting enough for me to keep watching, despite the obvious flaws/cliches that often burden shows like this.

I think I'll stick around for awhile.

  17. The episode has a certain cinematic feel to it. Very well executed and needless to say, very well written.

  18. Michael Emerson with that familiar shaky voice. What's not to love?

  19. Good Episode,Looking forward to seeing more.

  20. I really enjoyed this show.  It's going to fill the "Human Target" void.  I like a character that is a damaged good guy.

  21. seemed a bit over hiped  and the premise overworked but not a stinker. Might be a watchable show until bones returns

  22. We'll have to wait and see but I don't think it will have as many twists and turns as Lost. Every week will be the same thing. We'll think so and so is the good or bad person and then by the end they will prove to be the opposite. Thus we'll be able to guess off what they are leading us to believe... its the opposite. I hope there are more serialized things. I didn't see anything worth carrying over to future episodes in this first one.

  23. Other than Detective Fusco played by the underrated Kevin Chapman and Detective Carter (Tarji P. Henson).

Those two elements will be continuing I'm sure. Maybe as Carter's investigation into the one many wrecking crew that likes to suit up will bring out some backstory.

I think there is much more to Mr. Finch and his machine than we know just yet.....

  24. I thought of it replacing Human Target for me too! XD

I actually liked Person of Interest! I was looking forward to it and it really didnt dissapoint. The only thing i think they played out bad because it was totally obvious was the part where finch had the recording of the girl being attacked and wanted reese to break out of the restraints. Finch explains he wants to save people so he wouldnt purposly let someone get hurt just so he can get reese to help. I was surprised how bad that played. Other than that tho, the backgrounds, the mystery, the stlye of character and the specialness that each show should have was strong. I am very curious and looking forward more to reese's story especially the cia part because if they think he's dead and he quit then how would that play out if they found out they were wrong. Would the CIA hunt him down? Would he get help from possible friends? More questions are there and I think that would help the story with using the technology mixed into the cia. Overall I really liked the pilot and I think this series has potential to do much. But as a small tip I think they would be better out using smaller story arc then big ones except that they should have one big whole arc focusing on the technology finch created. The CIA, the backgrounds, the girlfriend dont really need to be a season long arcs. 5/5!

  26. I think this show has a great potential. I remember seeing the Pilot of Fringe for the first time and afterwards I said to myself: "This was just OK. I wanted something great and shocking." But I got invested in to the show later that season.

So the thing I`m trying to say is... I`ll keep watching Person of Interest `cause right now I think it`s only OK. But I know that later it`s gonna be awesome.

  27. The best new show on TV right now !!

  28. I'm admittedly burned out on procedurals, but this is a procedural drama I can get behind.  It's much different that CBS' typical fare and I really like the premise.  I'm a bit concerned about how they're working Taraji P. Henson into the show but I have hope it will get better.

I'll definitely be adding this to my queue every week.

  29. Caviezel has a Bronson / Eastwood thing going on with his character that does fit his acting style.

  30. I'm waiting for him to say: "We're the good guys Micha...ähm John!" :D

  32. Hey did you see that Person of Interest 1.4 there is a scene Doctor looks at x-rays and asks "did you have a spinal surgery before?" and Finch (Michael Emerson) answers "Yes"  I think it is definetely easter eggs. You know Ben Linus had a spinal surgery operated by Jack. I couldn't believe that when i saw this scene. And I said: "Is that you Ben? really is that you?" Maybe it is absurd thing but I'd like to see Ben Linus doing good job as a cover name of Finch. If that is true hats off to JJ Abrams.
