I loved how Jane was unhappy with Bertram 'dumping' Lisbon. I loved all his mind tricks and using hypnotism on one of the Agents xD Not enough Lisbon but she was awesome in every scenes.
Loved the LaRoche/Lisbon hug :D Will miss him :(
Loved when the whole team was at Lisbon's house. How they wanted to work with her and no one else. Really touching, I absolutely loved it!
Loved Jane liking the tea Lisbon prepared for him and asking her if he could bring it with him lol
Did not really like the ending where Jane and Lisbon discuss in her office, "Good, honest people always bad liars" to which she replies, "That makes you what then?" So she's calling him a bad and dishonest person? That's kind of harsh... and Jane's face kind of demonstrated that. Unless I got the meaning all wrong. Correct me if I am, please :)
Jane/Lisbon are always awesome! Jane is always superb! Cho is priceless! Van Pelt is heartbroken and Rigsby is always the last one in when it comes to helping Lisbon! xD (Red Badge) but at least he's in :P and so great it was seeing rosalind again!
& I Loved your post .. u should write The Mentalist reviews on Spoiler TV ;)
I share your opinion completely.. And about that "That makes you what then?" comment .. yeah I felt it was very out of place.. I was like "this isn't Lisbon".. but I believe her intentions were pure and not as they seem at first..
I really liked the episode.. I loved the lifts joke.. At first I thought it might be a dig @ robin for wearing those on the show but I thought it was funny regardless of that..
I also like the continuity of following up on that Timothy Carter case.. & kudos for bringing Rosalind Harker back to identify the body.. Another person I liked is Ray Haffner, he was the only one from the new team that I took an instant interest in, though I expected him to be a bit tougher..
Completely disagree. I think this comment was very Lisbon-ish and probably meant sarcastic. She was far mor in-character in this episode than in the episode before.
Thank you :) I think I wrote an even more elaborate review elsewhere, but it would have been much too long to post here. lol
I just thought of something else about that last scene. Jane does lie quite often and Lisbon is very aware of that, which is why she can't trust him 100%. Maybe Lisbon did not call him bad and dishonest, I think she asked this because it's how HE sees himself. He considers himself bad and dishonest (for killing and/or lying to the jury in the premiere). He did say he felt guilty for lying to the jury but was something he needed to do. So I think I got the whole scene backwards, I don't think it's true to her character because she wasn't implying he was bad or dishonest, she was only fast enough for Jane to read between the lines.
My only complaint about this show is why was Lisbon going to be the fall guy. Yes I heard all the riff raff that was said and why. But I didn't agree. My daughter and I talked about this last night. lmbo She said I am not one of the writer's so deal w/it. Ok, I am dealing w/it.
I think it's normal for her to have a bigger 'punishment' since she is the senior agent on the team. She's responsible for the people under her and people got killed. Craig seems to be considered as a 'victim' since there is no way to connect him to RJ. So two policemen and an FBI Agent died in this operation (and Carter), all who seems innocent (except Carter). The bureau needs to figure why she, as the leader, would let Jane, a consultant, run the whole thing. From their point of view, it does seem logical that she'd have to face an evaluation. Imagine if Carter would have been innocent for real, things would have looked even worse for all of them. We know Craig was bad, but they don't.
But, I agree that the decision to reinstate Jane before Lisbon is off. He killed someone! He should have gone through an evaluation or some kind of meeting before being allowed to work with the bureau again. I don't know where I stand with Bertram, if he's innocent or has a darker agenda, but maybe things will fall into place as the season goes on.
Jane systematically going after and basically destroying each member of his new team was pretty damned hilarious to watch. But is that the end of Reed Diamond's character? I thought he at least would be in a few episodes more before he's gotten rid of. I'll also hate to see Pruitt Taylor Vince go so soon; I would have liked LaRoche to hang around for another season.
It was neat to see Jocelyn back again, though. I was always hoping that character would come back, though in a much larger role. Perhaps we'll see more of her this season?
Anyway, nice to see the team back together. I'm looking forward to more Red John cases (I'm starting to miss the old smiley faces).
Pure Jane awesomeness :P You can see all of his genius in term of mastering people's mind. The last scene where the girl confirms it is not Red John was well thought.
It was very cute to see VanPelt states with such strength that she wanted to work for Lisbon, and the reaction of all the team members to that (through their body language) was priceless.
One thing that was not believable for me was how the new boss recruited Cho, with the expectation to get some info/surveillance on Jane... I mean, the guy should know better... Cho was in the same team as Jane, and threatening him to get sent with Rigsby to security if he does not take up his offer is not a good way to have an "all compliant and trustworthy" Cho there...
Apart from this small detail, I loved the episode, and now that the team is back together, I am looking forward to some more smug-Jane-versus-pissed-off-Libon interaction :)
I think it was purely sarcastic on Lisbon's part. As for Jane, he simply doesn't consider himself a good and honest person, which explains the long look. I wouldn't call in an inferiority complex but he's got huge amounts of guilt inside him. He never sugarcoats his past - he openly admits he used to be a liar and a fraud, and he still has practically no qualms about lying, albeit now for a good cause. ;) And he obviously knows there's enough dark inside him to actually kill another human being, even if it's the man who killed his family. To be honest, I'd like to see Lisbon taking a harsher attitude with him. He killed a man, he did exactly what Lisbon had been trying to prevent him from since the beginning of the show. What's more, if Red John is still alive and kicking, and now we know he is, Jane is probably going to kill again, maybe wreaking more havoc in the CBI than he'd done already. Yet despite that their relationship is practically as it was before. I'd like to see more tension between the two.
God I really loved that episode ;) it was hilarious and Jane was plain awesome ;) My money is on the little guy ;) or his last sentnece to Bertram ... Then you will continue to have a problem ... fantastic ;)
I don't think she was being sarcastic, with her expression and tone of voice she used, it seemed more like a tease him/bug him on how he saw himself.
It doesn't seem to bother Lisbon much that he killed someone. I thought it would, but in the last episode, she seemed almost happy that RJ 'dead' and put a lot of efforts into trying to find a way to ease Jane's mind by proving it was him (in vain). I think what'll bother her more is the fact Jane firmly believes RJ is still alive but she thinks he's dead. So from this point on, I think they'll be in disagreement for awhile until one of them is proven wrong.
I don't think Craig is considered a victim, since he shot Lisbon and that's why VP and HT shot him, otherwise they should've been put in jail for killing and innocent man. Plus, as you said, his gun must have been proof that he killed the policemen. And I think they did find his phone, though none of the calls were to Carter's phone. Maybe they couldn't find a conection with RJ but he certainly wasn't innocent, they probably thought that Craig went mad and tried to killed everyone, but at the end I guess somehow it was considered he was with RJ since everyone thinks Jane did kill him. I don't know, those are some of the lose ends that need to be tied :P
Much better than the awful premiere episode. Despite all of Jane's shenanigans, it was LaRoche who was the real scene stealer. I wish he was sticking around instead of the new kid they're bringing in.

NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Somehow I thought we hadn't seen the last of Red John, but since it gives such good TV it's OK by me! Glad Lisbon is back.

"Lisbon would never purposely say something harsh after the stunt he pulled to get her job back."
ReplyDeletethat's my point exactly ..

Anyone can see that Timothy Carter wasn't Red John. I didn't, even before the premiere.
