  10. This episode made me finally realise (and once I realised it I wondered why it took me so long) that Meredith is a horrible, horrible person. I remember at one point during the episode (either this one or Free Falling, same thing) I turned to my boyfriend and said something like "she has the brain of a surgeon but the mind of a child", amongst other things like "don't you just want to strangle her right now?"

She didn't deserve to get her job back. She screwed up bigtime. All she ever really does is screw up her own life and this time she took Derek's medical trial down with her. She is ignorant, selfish, naive and just irritating as hell now. I think this was summed up when she had some stupid selfish little personal "emergency" and paged Christina WHO SHE KNEW WAS BUSY SAVING LIVES. I mean come on....

  11. Disagree with everything you said. How was she selfish? Because she wanted to help Chief's wife? She was there for Christina when she needed it and Owen left ... Derek is the bad guy here. She always does everything for others but somehow ends up as the bad guy.

  12. I agree. Meredith is annoying, selfish and Im sick of her whining all the time. She had a bad childhood, deal with it. But no, she uses it as an excuse for her mistakes the whole freaking time, it's so exhausting. Not to mention I totally understand Derek's reaction, she completely ruined his trial, stained his reputation and compromised his career, all of this behind his back. Ughh I wish EP would just BE GONE and Lexie could take over as the main Grey on the show.

  14. I would have to disagree with everything you said.  Im not sure if you saw last season and the circumstances surrounding why meredith did what she did.  Meredith is one of the moth selfless people and has been throughout the series.  Meredith did what she did b/c of Chief to save Adele to possibly spare Adele anymore heartache or trauma as Merediths mother and Chiefs actions did to her.  The only reason Derek even took on the trial was b/c he thinks meredith will one day have Alzheimer b/c of his messiah complex he wants to be he hero & possibly save her life. Anytime Meredith takes the lead and doesnt fit into some stereotypical 1950's female Derek has pictured he gets pissed off.  I can see why Addison cheated on him with Mark.  Meredith has opened her home, her heart and arms to anyone that needed her.  She stuck her hand into a body with an active bomb. That is not a selfish, stupid person.  Meredith maybe be flawed but she has a bleeding heart and what ever she does something she does it for other people despite the consequences for her.

  15. The fact that you're actually criticising Derek for wanting to use his work to save Meredith from Alzheimer's... I can't even respond to that. Wow. And the fact that you're standing up for Meredith for completely destroying a medical trial that had the potential to save countless people from a terrifying disease, I also don't know what to say to that. Bottom line is Meredith is supposed to be a professional, and that is the last word I would ever use to describe her at this stage.

  16. How is Derek the bad guy at all? Are you saying that he doesn't have the right to be incredibly angry at Meredith for invalidating his work and destroying a potentially ground-breaking medical trial? If she wanted to help Adele she should have let the trial run its course so that it could be proven successful and then Adele would still have gotten the treatment the right way. What she did instead was reckless, irresponsible and unprofessional.

As for selfish, well paging Christina in the middle of a medical emergency to help Meredith with her personal life when Christina is a busy doctor who is being paid to SAVE LIVES, that is extremely selfish and you'd be foolish to deny that.

  17. In a lot of ways, the second half was both much better AND much worse than the first half.

I swear, Meridith seems like a really awful person now.  This person, who refuses to take responsibility or admit culpability for anything she's done, absconds with a child, allows the Chief to cover for her wrongdoings, pulls Christina away from work and makes her complicit in what was basically kidnapping, and by extension drags Alex into it by flat-out lying to social services.  Not once has she acknowledged how her actions have negatively affected others, nor has she shown the slightest remorse.  I'd have more sympathy for Derek but he's handling this very poorly.  His childish silent treatment is quite irritating.  He and his wife obviously have major issues and running away to build a house while ignoring your problems is just plain stupid.

I liked the way they resolved the Christina / Owen pregnancy situation.  No complaints there.  I also like that Arizona and Mark are getting along.  Teddy was much more tolerable in this half than in the first half.  Her story with Christina is awful but she was much better as the concerned wife in the second half.  There was no improvement on April's suddenly exaggerated ineptitude, so that was disappointing.

All in all, it was better than part one, except for Mer / Der which was actually worse.

  18. I'm not criticizing Derek its an honorable thing to do.  You try to protect and save the ones you love by any means necessary.  Was it stupid to do what Meredith did yes, was it a malicious attach done to Derek no, she was doing what she thought was right for someone she cared about.  Meredith knows the trauma first hand of dealing with someone with this terrible disease.  She didn't want Chief to have to endure that pain.  It was a selfless act.  The person who completely destroyed the trial was bis mouth Karev. If he don't say anything no one would have been the wiser.  So lets not be fooled she did't go out exclaiming i tampered with the trial look at me look at me.  Karev was put her on blast.  Is she at fault yes did she think this would occur no, but it doesn't make her a terrible person. This nonsense about her paging Cristina during an emergency, she didn't know about the Gunther surgery she was to busy dealing with her "personal" issues.  You act like these people don't harass one another thinking their personal lifes are more important then the patients they were dealing with.  Cristina went to find her after she was done with her emergency so you cant blame Meredith for that either.  You speak of professionalism, their is not one doctor who has not been unprofessional in that hospital, i cant believe your claling her out.  All those doctors are the most unprofessional people you can find.  Plain and simple was stupid for her to do it yea, did she intend for people to get hurt no, I doubt they were the only hospital doing a clinical trial to cure such a terrible disease.
