I'm surprised Amy Price-Francis took this gig. She really didn't have a whole lot to do over the course of this double episode. As for the first half of the 2-hour show, it was alright but certainly not great.
I don't really get the "back to basics" storyline for Christina. If her basic skills as a surgeon were in question, no one would allow her to operate. I didn't need the "Mark treats his assisting surgeon like crap" story either, since they already did it with Alex. Derrick is acting like a child, and they're overdoing the hapless April story. I get that the character has shortcomings but they're wildly exaggerating them for the purpose of amusement.
The only thing I really liked was Arizona looking out for Alex.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Good effects!
