POLL : What color will the new Fringe title sequence be?
19 Sept 2011
Cancelled Shows Polls
Hey, if they can do it for Supernatural, we can do it for Fringe!
Since its inception, the color (or hue, rather) for Fringe's title sequence has always been blue. But over the seasons, we've gotten different versions of the title sequence for "special" episodes. For the alternate universe, Fringe turned red; in both flashback episodes, a retro-themed opening aired; and in the season finale "The Day We Died," Fringe turned greyscale. All of these title sequences, embedded below, have helped audiences map out in which universe, or time, we're staying in throughout the episode.
And that's not all. In the second season finale, when Fringe shifted between our universe and "over there," we got a blue and red opening, which transitioned from one color to the next.
Normally, a title sequence wouldn't be such a big deal since they are used for just one episode. But, in the season finale, Peter created a bridge between both universes, essentially bringing duplicates of each character face-to-face with one another. Will the new title sequence be Red-Blue to signify the bridge (perhaps split down the middle as shown here) — or will it be Purple (a combination of red and blue) to symbolize the overlapping of both universes? Perhaps it will remain blue to show that we're still in our universe except Walternate and Fauxlivia have been brought here via the bridge. And what about Peter? With Peter's existence erased, will the title sequence reflect this new reality?
Sound off below!

Magenta
ReplyDeleteRed and Blue!
ReplyDeleteOther than the color, I think it will show something related to non-existent Peter.
ReplyDeleteHas to be red because we don't know where Peter is.
ReplyDeleteRed and Blue makes Purple/Magenta
ReplyDeleteBoy this is a tough one. It means I need to commit to one single theory... either we are in Blue universe that has been altered due to the events of last season.... or we are in a parallel universe where Peter is.
ReplyDeleteEither could be blue..... so I will play the odds and say blue, but somehow I suspect chartreuse or citrine or something odd.
Fuchsia although I don't really like this color...i prefer red!...but it has to be a mix of the 2 universes
ReplyDeletePurple for me.... Maybe the hand will disappear to signify Peter being gone. Although Peter doesn't have 6 appendages on his hand...
ReplyDelete...Or Does He? :P
I voted for transitions between Red and Blue.. however I'd love to be surprised ^_^
ReplyDeleteYellow.... Dunno why though!
ReplyDeleteYellow!!
ReplyDeleteCould be wrong, but I just can't see Fringe go purple. Some sort of split or transition betw. red and blue.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking a new and more interesting transition from blue to red.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I voted for Purple, because I hope!
ReplyDeleteGreen for me! (as it's my fave colour and I have no idea XD)
ReplyDeleteBlue but with new words!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping for purple!!
ReplyDeleteYellow or Purple would be great!
ReplyDeleteRed and blue transition, possibly purple
ReplyDeleteMix red and blue and you get purple...
ReplyDeleteHowever, wouldn't that be too predictable for Fringe?? Maybe...
We will know in 4 days :)
I didn't think of yellow. It *could* be, given that this is a different reality altogether since Peter doesn't exist.
ReplyDeleteThe best combine of the red-blue openings would be a 3D opening! a bit of work from the editors to create a red-cyan version (which suits to every TV) and when you use a basic 3D glasses it will just stick out of the screen :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think there will be a new intro. They'll probably just go with the red and blue alternating one from "Entrada" and maybe add some new fringe sciences.
ReplyDeleteand yellow is the last primary color in the spectrum.. the rest are mixtures of these three
ReplyDeleteWatching the grey one, I'm starting to see a purple or indigo-ish hue. Anyone else?
ReplyDeleteThis is true!! Methinks I should have included yellow :D
ReplyDeleteCould be Red and Blue, but I voted Purple just 'cause I like the color :)
ReplyDeletePeter created a "BRIDGE" but not a new world. Episode 1 is featured Over Here and Episode 2 is about a killer Over There. therfore, I don't think anything will change, since we're still going to be crossing between universes.
ReplyDeletePurple but perhaps yellow as some people have suggested
ReplyDeleteI think you're missing the biggest part of the differences between the title sequences: the hidden messages. Between seasons and between worlds the terms that are displayed in the opening sequence are differing between all of them... :)
ReplyDeleteAri Margolis tweeted a review from someone who's seen the first two episodes, and they say the new title sequence is sepia. So... there you go. :)
ReplyDeleteWhile a I think I prefer a split blue/red I think they will go with a purple as I would be easier and less time
ReplyDeleteReally, thanks
ReplyDeleteGrey.
ReplyDeleteThat was me. It's sepia/yellow.
ReplyDeleteBlack, the Observers's color! I think that observers have used Peter and doomsday machine to fix their original mistake and rewrite history! Daniela
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately an advance review of the first 2 episodes has already given it away.
ReplyDeleteIs it sepia or yellow? They aren't the same color...
ReplyDeleteThey're very similar -- sepia is sort of a brownish yellow. So those who are saying yellow aren't wrong, but it's more accurately described as sepia.
ReplyDeleteIt's changed from a poll to a news story!
ReplyDeleteI'm going with the majority just because (for whatever reason) the first thing I thought of when the universes came together at the end of the finale was "so, are the titles going to be purple now?"
ReplyDeleteGreen vote here!
ReplyDeleteEither they will continue with the finale them which is black, white, gray with ULTRAVIOLET highlights, or maybe mostly Black with white (to play on reversed engineering), or green (bridge made them nuetral act as one reality)
ReplyDeleteI still think the yellow deals with "soul energy" (the essence of a being and it's reincarnation aka the spirit or the soul)) and will not be presented as a reality...
ReplyDelete---as many atoms as stars in the skies, like fireflies...our spirits light the way in darkness...
Well, maybe yellow? Or they simple use that opening sequence from Entrada. Red & Blue. And sometime a bit purple.
ReplyDeleteI am more excited about the new words! <3
Purple is too obvious. They wouldn't do something like that. My guess is an entirely different intro. Diff words or something.
ReplyDeletePurple!
ReplyDeleteI loved how they did the red & blue... I would like to see that again, shows the two universes are going to get some screen time.
ReplyDeleteI think purple is the most likely but they tend to surprise us so who knows? A yellow or a green opening would look nice, too. The fan in me that likes the good old fashioned openings wishes that they would do a completely different thing with a song (This is War - 30 Seconds to Mars) and you know something like SMALLVILLE or Charmed had...
ReplyDeleteThere's a review of the first two episodes over on TV Overmind, and the reviewer, Sam McPherson, says that the color sequence is sepia.
ReplyDelete^^; *HUG* ♥
ReplyDelete{Yellow also means "A new beginning" }
Sepia? That's cool, I was hoping for a yellow-ish intro :D
ReplyDeleteI hope it's my favourite colour purple! I like that it's a mix of blue and red too, think it symbolises the joining of the 2 universes nicely :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hug :D
ReplyDeleteGreen hope and other shades of green to indicate that there is still the possibility of a future for both worlds
ReplyDeleteVerde Speranza per indicare la possibilità di un futuro per i due mondi
ReplyDeleteYellow or green the color of hope.
ReplyDeletespoiler...
ReplyDeleteits orange.
