I know they are saying "Just tell me where you're getting these numbers" and "It really doesn't matter where I get the numbers. What you need to know is that the next number up is hers"
but I hear "I want to meet Jacob" and "...now I'm asking you to trust me, to trust Jacob who told me to do this"
Ok that said.... I am in the minority I think, but I do not see how this show can fail. Awesome cast, Awesome creative team. CBS had enough faith to put it in the number 1 spot on any TV schedule. It all spells success to me.......
Ha! Well, I considered not saying it for fear the TV Gods would punish me by cancelling it, but after years of therapy I have realized I'm not (quite) as important to the universe as I like to think at times.... and my opinion is not some sort of cosmic prophecy.XD
OK, l honesty, I think it sounds too good to be true too. It seems like it's a modern twist on past successes like The A-Team or The Equalizer or Early Edition which all were about helping out ordinary people who are in trouble - whether they know it or not just yet.
Today's TV culture is just so different though I realize it may not be a hit... or even make it a full season. Sigh....
I know what you mean. After I got excited for Flashforward, V, Persons Unknown and The Event I'm going to stay calm about Persons of Interest, Alcatraz and The River this season ;)
Two positive things Person of Interest has going for it compared to the series you mentioned..
It can be a more hybrid serial over arc and episodic plots week to week and it really has no major SciFi elements to speak of. (I may need to change that opinion depending on how they play out the "big brother" aspect of where Finch is really getting his numbers).
AS much as I love SciFi elements and serial TV..... they make for a uphill battle and a much longer shot at renewal.
it's the new show i'm most excited for this season! i don't know how it will evolve, but judging by the information we've got so far it should be successful.
Yeah! and I read countless times that the back story and who this people are/were are another big factor of the series, so who knows all the places a computer genius with government tech and a former black opps agent could go!
I think if people think about this as Bad Robot (most parallels will probably be with Alias and Lost) with new Batman with a dash of Philip Dick, I think their is much to be excited about, but I look forward to getting past the Pilot!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I will watch this but still don't know if it will make it. I sure hope so tho...I want Ben aka Lost to have a hit show!
ReplyDeleteI do like the look of this... but wonder if it will still be intersting after 5 or 6 episodes. I hope it will.

You realise you've now all but killed the show :)
