Very few TV shows that only air 11 episodes are as revered as Firefly. Joss Whedon‘s space-western starring Nathan Fillion, Summer Glau, Adam Baldwin and others was famously canceled by Fox but has lived on thanks to a rabid fanbase known as Browncoats, a reference from the show. Their passion for the series helped Whedon direct Serenity, a movie based on the series, and continues to drive interest in the franchise, spawning fan events, merchandise and more.

ReplyDeleteI love Outlaw Star! Not quite as much as Firefly though. Of Course :P haha.
ReplyDeleteThat was a very interesting read. Thanks.
I only just read "Those Left Behind" last week.
I'd like to watch Firefly, I know that with the DVDs there were episodes that weren't aired and there's a movie as well, what order should I watch them in?
ReplyDeletefirst you should watch the TV show in the production order (that how it is on the dvd set), not in the order it aired (Fox first aired the 3rd episode and then the pilot...stupid FOX!) Anyway, then watch the movie!
ReplyDeleteI knew most of the stuff...BUT NOW I WANNA PRINT THIS!!
ReplyDeletethank you!
ReplyDeleteGreat read. I am a big fan of Firefly, but there were a few things there I didn't know.
ReplyDeleteGosh fox are such idiots!
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe this show was ever canceled. Long Live FireFly!

ReplyDeleteThe sound. I noticed it the first time I saw Firefly. I just love the dialogues. Mal is freaking awesome. And Wash. And Kaylee. And Jayne. Great show.
ReplyDeleteI want firefly back >.< <3
ReplyDeleteThanks <3 Firelfy
ReplyDeleteGotta love Firefly!
ReplyDeleteInteresting stuff. Just watched all the episodes and movie on Netflix (gotta love streaming) and while I may not be as enamored with the show as many are it does suck that it was cancelled before it should have.
ReplyDeleteI didn't discover Firefly until the Serenity dvd came out but I fell in love with the show and then automatically bought the show on dvd and have watched them a bunch of times since and they never get old. I'm always keeping my fingers crossed for something more because we all know " You can't stop the Signal"....
