Cancelled Shows Person of Interest RevengeAt ABC, the push for Revenge is just incredible. The promo time for The Hamptons soap is now almost double the level for the #2 priority (Charlie's Angels).
CBS has given a healthy dose of on-air promotion time to Person of Interest inside the past few installments of Big Brother (which is really starting to hit its ratings stride). Person is now the #1 new show priority for CBS, passing Unforgettable during the past week. The other CBS new shows received very little attention last week, except for brief mentions within generic fall schedule promos or nightly line-up spots. Also, this is the time of year that second- or third-tier new show priorities start to disappear altogether, as more promotion time is allocated to premieres of returning series, to new time periods, or to new cast members (such as Ted Danson on CSI or that new guy on Two and a Half Men).
At FOX and NBC, X-Factor and Up All Night remain the big bets. Also on NBC there has been a big surge in activity for The Sing-Off.

I am surprised that Revenge is being promoted so much.

ReplyDeleteReally not much to pick from. I have a feeling this season is going to be a bust for some stations.
ReplyDeleteI think the big push for Revenge is mainly due to the fact that most of ABC's publicity funds/resources for Once Upon A Time, Charlie's Angels and Pan Am have probably been used up for Comic-Con.

Once Upon a Time (120) and Last Man Standing (105) have low numbers but they are still a long ways off yet, those numbers will look very different next month.I'm wondering if NBC will start pushing Grimm (Oct.21 with Chuck) in a couple weeks.

ReplyDeletePoI is gonna be awesome! But it will be premiering at the most competitive hour which has some very good, established shows with existing fan bases. To get people to watch PoI when it airs will take a lot of advertising. After that, it's about how good the show really is, and word of mouth
