After an exhaustive search, Alias star Victor Garber is in final talks to supply the voice of Charlie in ABC’s Charlie’s Angels update, TVLine has confirmed.

ReplyDeleteI really don't understand why the-powers-that-be insist on doing re-makes of old and glorious tv shows.
The new versions are at best mediocre, never better than the originals, and usually end up getting scrapped afrer the first season.
What a waste of time and money.
I wonder who are the people that have these brilliant ideas!
Remember the Wonder Woman debacle of a few months ago!

ReplyDeleteI always thought they should have William Forsythe do the voice.... He's not related to the original John I don't think but it would have been a fun lil factoid in cancelled TV show bar trivia at some point....
Oh well, no matter I guess since no matter who the voice of charlie is, my voice of reason tells me to not watch this series.
I don't get it either! Let's not forget Bionic Woman (2007) and Knight Rider (2008) on NBC. Awful.

ReplyDeleteThe names of other shows don't come to my mind right now, but there surely have been a plethora of remakes that have disappeared into the waste-basket of tv shows.
I just read that they are going to invert the order of the eps. of Once Upon a Time and PanAm, other two ABC shows that I cannot imagine having a very long life.
I can't understand why they don't invest their time and money in coming up with a show that could really interest the public.
I refuse to believe that there is such a lack of creative ideas in TV land, after all they managed to come up with Lost which kept you coming back week after week.
Another thing I notice is the copy-cat syndrome.
When a show has success all the other networks want to copy it.
At the moment we are on a Sixties high, AKA Mad Men, so we get Pam Am , the Playboy Club etc,.
It's also happening with Supernatural, we're getting Grimm, which seems like a SPN spin-off and the afore-mentioned Once Upon A time which also tends towards that genre.
