SCENE 1
The whole gang, including Amy and Bernadette, are at the guys’ apartment. Leonard’s cleaning up the table, and asks who wants the last dumping. Penny says she does. Sheldon tells her that they’ve just had Thai food, and in that culture the last morsel of food is given to the person who’s the most respected of the group, it’s a big honor. Penny snatches it anyway, stuffs the whole thing in her mouth, and tells them around it, thank you all for this high, high honor. Sheldon first told her something like she can one-up him or eat without chipping in in their apartment, choose wisely. Then his line was changed, to, “I’ve seen pictures of your mother. Keep eating.”

Sounds like the start of another great episode
ReplyDeleteNot impressed with the idea of a fat joke. When will sitcoms realize that fat jokes are as funny and socially acceptable as jokes about African-Americans, people with disabilities, gay jokes, and jokes about how dumb women are? In other words, NOT FUNNY.
ReplyDeletei love the banter between sheldon and penny...pure comedy
ReplyDeleteI dont understand why people have become overly sensitive about any and everything. The beauty of comedy it has a license to be provocative and not always PC, that's why its comedy. It makes light out of things that people are so stirred up about. It doesn't necessarily have to be construed as a negative or insulting take it as a joke and keep it moving. that's the problem with people that want to be offended by everything instead of just taking for what it is a joke not necessarily anything more. I mean im a black, female and I'm not offended by the jokes b/c i accept that its just entertainment. I think people need to acknowledge when a joke is meant to be a joke and when a joke is performed to be malicious. My belief is that if your content with yourself whether your a different race, maybe be skinny or fat, gay, disabled or what have you it doesn't matter what someone else says. You know who you are so why should it hurt you when someone makes a joke about a particular group. If you do get offended then you have some insecurities and need to work on it. Personally I make jokes about everyone my own culture and everyone and everything in between and I'm not evil, racist or what have you. I actually find that when I do make my jokes it sometimes opens up an intelligent discussion.
ReplyDeletethanks for this I can't wait!!
