The 2011 STV Character Competition - R1 - Day 12 - Kurt Hummel (Glee) vs. Parker (Leverage) & Fox Mulder (The X-Files) vs. Juliet Burke (LOST)

11 Sept 2011

Hey Guys,

Yesterday had two polls which could have swung one way or the other, with the end results swinging one way for the drama fans and John Locke of LOST and the other way for the vampire fans with Elena Gilbert of The Vampire Diaries. As a result, Rachel Berry exited in disappointing fashion for Glee and despite a great effort, Game of Thrones' star Tyrion Lannister could not muster enough support to see off the show that continues to surprise.

Today sees four more vastly differing characters, with Kurt Hummel of Glee taking on "The Thief" Parker from Leverage. In the second poll long time favourite X-File Fox Mulder challenges LOST's Juliet Burke for a place in the next round.

Currently leading the prediction competition is Todd German, holding on to the top spot he has occupied for the past few days. To see your score head HERE

For anyone new to the competition the rules are simple. Every day there will be a new set of polls between characters who are bidding to become the winner of the second STV Character Competition.

All you have to do is to vote for whichever characters are your favourite and at the end of the 24 hours whichever character has more votes will be the winner and will progress into the next round. There are three rounds before the quarter finals, semi finals and then the final...

Don't forget to tweet, facebook, google+ and spread the word about the characters and shows you love to try and boost your chances of winning.

All that is left to say, is let the battles commence...

  1. Just voted for Fox Mulder today...

  2. Parker and Juliet. It was so hard to choose between Mulder and Juliet, though!

  3. Parker, definitely Parker.  Even if I didn't find Kurt to be one of the most annoying characters on Glee, I would still go with the emotionally stunted thief.  Parker is one of 3 reasons to watch Leverage and her character gets more entertaining every year.  While I don't think she has a chance to move on, I am excited that she made it into the contest.  She's definitely a character worth it.

Fox Mulder is a legend.  He's half the reason why I discovered online fandom in the first place and one of four people I would root for in the finale.  May Fox Mulder go far in this competition.

  4. Parker and Mulder.  I like Kurt and Juliet well enough but not nearly as much as the other two.

  5. Parker and Mulder for me, though my bracket says otherwise. I've never watched the X-Files, but I suspect I'd like it a lot more than LOST, and Parker is one of my favourite characters on TV. If it wasn't for her, Eliot and Hardison, I certainly wouldn't have been able to put up with Nate and Sophie enough to watch all 3.5 seasons of Leverage!

  6. Kurt and Fox Mulder! :D still shocked about Tyrion!! :(

  7. Parker and Mulder even though Juliet is a great character

  8. Parker & Mulder.
Although I like Juliet a lot.

  9. Agreed 100%.  Parker, Eliot, and Hardison are the reasons to watch Leverage.  They make Nate's screentime more bearable.

  10. The Truth is Out There...and it's clear. Mulder is better than Juliet any day of the week (though I do enjoy her character, best female character on Lost)

  11. To be fair, I think it's worth watching the X-Files till Season 7 (even though it gets weaker)...followed by a select group of episodes to get to the conclusion. Whether you like it or not, you have to see the last episode.

  12. Don't watch any of the shows but Mulder gets my vote because X Files opened the way for so many other supernatural shows.

  13. I only voted in the second one - for Mulder.  Juliet's character started out with great potential but stalled after Darlton lost interest in writing for her. She went through a silent phase when she had little dialogue but gave a lot of meaningful looks.  In the end, she re-established her role as the fourth cog in the romantic quad - she was there to make Kate jealous and then die as an insecure almost-wife so that Sawyer's character could get to where the writers wanted him.

  14. Voted Mulder. I really really really didn't like Juliet.

  16. Kurt and Mulder, but choosing between Mulder and Juliet was surprisingly difficult. But, G-man FTW.

  17. I love Parker.  I own the first three seasons of Leverage.  It's a great show.  Parker is a unique character and I love her.  I've never seen Lost, so I vote for Mulder.  I did watched X-Files most of the time.  To be honest there are very few shows I've never missed and episode of.  The only two I can think in the last decade would be Supernatural and Moonlight.

  18. Kurt and Juliet, though I like Mulder aswell.

  19. too easy. Mulder FTW

  20. Kurt (cant believe he's losing so far) cause I like him =) and I've never seen Leverage.
And Mulder even though I only saw a few eps of the Xfiles, and I never really liked Juliet that much.

  21. Parker and Mulder. I've seen only a handful episodes of Glee but didn't like Kurt at all. Parker is awesome! And Mulder is a legend!

  24. Kurt and Fox Mulder for me, sad to hear about Tyrion

  25. He really lost against that Vampire Diaries girl? Oh man, what has the world come to.

  26. Same. Never saw Leverage and hit Glee-oversaturation a while back.

  27. Always Fox Mulder<3No patetic Juliet bleah

  28. Parker is made of so much win!

    ReplyDelete
  29. haha same here, I'm not really a fan of Nate or Sophie, but Leverage is one of my favourite shows

  30. I loved Jules, one of the very few characters that never pissed me off as we got to the end of the series, but Mulder is Mulder, end of ;)

    ReplyDelete
  31. well Kurt and... ARGH! NOOOOOO..... Juliet..

    ReplyDelete
  32. Wow Moonlight, you don't hear that show brought up very often. I loved it. Too bad it was canceled so prematurely.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hands down Fox.  Can it be anyone else.  I don't think so.  I really wanted Parker to win but I know I am dreaming.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Tyrion is great characters, love Peter Dinklage even if he too good looking to be Tyrion. I have never watch Vampire Diaries, it always seem a bit generic.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Heh yeah, I read the first book after the first season and thought, hey, GRRM describes him much uglier than Dinklage is ;)

    ReplyDelete
  36. I might try that with the X-Files, I suspect I'd really like it, but I keep hearing that it ended terribly so that's kind of been turning me off: I don't really want to get invested in a show only for it to end badly!

    ReplyDelete
  37. That's a good idea, the only problem would be knowing which select episodes to watch! Which I probably wouldn't be able to discern without actually watching them all. :-/

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anyway, is a hard thing choose someone between Mulder and Juliet. But "LOST" is my favorite tv show, and Juliet is one of the best characters ever. So, Juliet.

    ReplyDelete
  39. 2 fo the best females in the competition and unfortunately I have to vote against one - Parker & Mulder for me today.

    ReplyDelete
  40. To be fair, I could probably give you the episodes to watch are musts. Feel free to message me.

  41. Keep it up XPhillies...I love my Lost, but X-Files is and forever will be my first love.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Parker and Mulder of course !

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm proud of you, Parker! We'll do better next year, I promise! :D

    ReplyDelete
  44. No, you don't hear of it very often unless you are checking out and Alex O'Loughlin page on Facebook.  Since Hawaii Five-O, his fans have been pretty active.

  45. Kurt and Juliet (but it was hard to vote against Mulder... )
