We are down to our Final Four and I will be happy no matter who wins at this point. All 4 are fine examples of Supernatural at its best. No matter how this tournament turns out, I hope you got to revisit some past favorites and learned how others viewed ones you might not have liked as much. It's been eye opening for me and lots of fun. Now on to the show. In round 5 we have: The End, In My Time of Dying, What Is and What Should Never Be, and All Hell Breaks Loose - part 2.
Happy voting everyone and don't forget to cast your predictions for the Character Cup. It will be starting a week later which gives us plenty of time to hash out who we think will win. It's harder than the Best Show contest - at least for me. Good luck to everyone participating.
"What is and What Should Never Be" is a gimme. No question about that choice. I went with, "In My Time of Dying" on the other ballot, but that was pretty much a toss-up. I'd be happy with either one.
That's pretty much how I see it too. Any episode left is a winner for me so it's hard to get upset about something losing. Of course, I want WiaWSNB to win the whole thing, but since I thought it would be out in round 3, everything else is gravy.
4 amazing episodes and I'm so happy that 3 of these are from season 2 because that is my favourite season. First one was easy. I love the end but in my time of dying wins hands down Next one was harder. I love both of those so much and I think it would have made for a great finale poll but I ended up voting all hell breaks loose 2 because, with no better way to describe it, it was just awesome Can't wait for the finale :)
No matter what wins this round, I'm voting the episode on the right. I think WiaWSNB and AHBL2 are superior to The End and In My Time of Dying. Next round is the easiest of all for me.

I'm going to vote for the End, not because I think it's superior to INTODying but because of my love of time travel/alt.universe scenarios. Having to make a difficult decision I have to find some detail to convalidate it...!
Every thing that can be said has been said about these two episodes. Both great ones, both of which I love, but having to choose, my above-mentioned inclination forces me to vote WIAWSNB.

I can never vote against What Is And What Should Never Be....even when it's up against All Hell Breaks Loose Part 2. The End and In My Time Of Dying is cruel on all levels. I ended up going for IMTOD. Both eps are in my top 5. Really tricky one for me....so I went on the good old girly feeling thing....IMTOD just grabs me from every direction. So that's the one I picked.
Well,after The End vs Lazarus Rising,I can take whatever you throw at me. In My Time Of Dying is a great episode,but The End is currently at the top of my all time favorite episodes.
Second poll was harder..Still,Dean's speech and YED's death are nearly impossible to vote against!So,All Hell Breaks Loose,Pt 2!

In My Time of Dying - I love The End, but this one is just more classic Supernatural. In the end, I couldn't vote against dying Dean, protective Sam, Tessa and John's death.
All Hell Breaks Loose 2 - I love both episodes almost equally, but AHBL is just much more important to the show's plot and has much more action. Dean selling his soul and killing YED are two huge steps on pushing the storyline forward, while WIAWSNB is practically all about emotions. I still love it to pieces, but I guess I don't love it enough to defeat AHBL 2 :P
I love all 4 episodes and consider them a good representation of the show as its four finalists (I’m especially happy that so many episodes of season 2 have come so far). I have chosen to vote for the two of them that I like completely, without any complaints at all, and those are In My Time Of Dying and What Is And What Should Never Be. They are both totally awesome. IMTOD - I like Dean experiencin g how it feels to be a ghost and thinking about the possibility to become one day the very thing they are hunting (before the idea of possibly having to hunt or even kill his brother ever crossed his mind), my favorite moment being when he sees Sam with the Ouija Board trying to communicate with him. It’s awesome how Sam could feel his absent brother was around somehow, and then he was totally clueless about what his present dad was planning. The End is awesome too and I heve voted for it a few times, but I don’t like so much seeing stoned Cas, and despite the good acting I can’t enjoy seeing Sam as Lucifer (although I keep wondering what those red roses could mean, in some scenes I would say they seem to be coming out of his shoulders, as devilish red wings). WIAWSNB – I love the deep symbolism of the situation. Dean has got all he always dreamed about, but it’s just not real, and so he has to desintrincate himself from the dream, one of the hardest things he ever had to face. It reminds me of Matrix (which I like a lot, not the sequels though), and somehow the episode depicts what the rest of people do, those who do not believe in monsters, they live peacefully but far from knowing the truth. Dean and Sam (and the other hunters) fight the monsters in silence, keeping their heroic deeds secretly in the dark, so that everybody else can live their dream lives. It makes me think of my own comfortable life, while other people fight our today demons (hunger, oppression, illness, poverty, lack of care or love), but it’s just too hard to renounce to so many comforts in order to confront life’s true challenges. The season 2 finale is of course brlliant too and I guess it will win the contest, and I will be happy to see it. It has the unbeatable scenes of Dean crying over his dead brother and YED’s death, but I don’t like Sam killing Jake nor the demons breaking loose as smoke columns, I always disliked that plot. As an aside, I know the Anime has no weight on these polls, and has nothing to do with them, but I do enjoy their versions of especailly these two episodes that I have voted for, those that it seems we are going to leave behind today in this interesting race for the championship. I know it’s not our guys, not Jensen nor Jared (and unfortunately they also have an awful Bobby, nothing like our Jim), so it can’t even compare, but their versions of IMTOD and WIAWSNB do change a few little things that I find really interesting, and that makes me appreciate better these two episodes in the live action original versions.
WIAWSNB also reminded me during my first viewing of Lost's episode Dave, in which Hurley is made to believe that he is dreaming everything, so he has to kill himself to get out of the dream. In that case it wasn't true, he would have killed himself for real if he had believed 'Dave'. The whole family asking Dean not to hurt himself at the end of the episode seemed like Libby telling Hurley not to jump the cliff because her love was real, so I was really confused about what Dean had to do, and was really astounded how brave he was to cut himself with the knife, renouncing to everything. I must say I love this kind of plot and totally applaud the outcome chosen in the SPN episode.
For me, out of the four episodes left, In My Time of Dying is the weakest mostly because of the excessive John sitting and Sam and John fighting. The first felt more like filler and I don't like John at all anyway. The second was 200th verse, same as the first.
However, I only think it's weaker in this particular group. It's still in my top 25 episodes, as are all of these episodes.
I'm glad French Mistake lost too. I like that episode. For a "meta", I really love it, but that round culled the last of the episodes that weren't on my best episode list. Now I can be truly happy no matter what comes out on top.
I actually think the last two rounds will be fairly easy. Everyone knows what is coming and has time to think about all possibilities. It may be harder to push the Vote button, but I've known what I was going to vote in these instances for awhile.
I too have watched the new promo a lot. Easy to get excited about the premiere now that we are getting new footage.
I agree that AHBL2 is more important. In fact, of the episodes on the right side of the bracket, the only two I could stand WiaWSNB to lose to are Mystery Spot and AHBL2. I'm glad it got so far. Still it is my favorite.
I confess I haven't seen much of the anime yet. I can't afford it so it's on the Christmas list. I look forward to seeing how they change and tweak plot points and of course I want to support Supernatural.

I've seen What is and What Should Never Be more than any other Supernatural episode. Probably more times than I've watched each episode of seasons 5 and 6 combined. I never get bored and I'm always engrossed. Quite frankly, I may be drinking the djinn juice because it always makes me happy to watch it.

I think IMTOD is equally great as the WIAWSNB and AHBL 2, with The End being only slightly worse. All of them are amazing episodes indeed.
