Lots of news badges for you to unlock today!
We have three shows that have all gone live this week, the first one being NCIS which is now live, followed by How I Met Your Mother & just today we launched White Collar badges for you all to collect. You can preview the level 1 badges further down the page
Also excitingly, we have new badges available for Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries & Chuck, with three new badges available once you have passed the level ten badges. They will be a Bronze, Silver and Gold award for each show. The one we tested a few weeks ago was the Bronze Award for Supernatural, The Impala, which you can see here:
The other badges you will need to unlock to achieve them. We will be launching more of these unique badges for other shows over the next few weeks.
A huge shoutout is needed for Fatma, who has designed these exclusive Bronze, Silver and Gold awards for us... They are brill and we can't wait for you to unlock them all!

Hey Guys,
In case you weren't aware, we have been introducing a variety of badges on STV which you can gain by being a part of the community. This involves just visiting the site, commenting on posts, tweeting, facebook-liking, using the Google+1 buttons, voting in polls amongst other things...

The exciting development is that we now are introducing show specific badges, which you collect by being a part of the community for a particular show. Each show we introduce will have an original 10 badges which get harder to unlock as you progress.

ReplyDeleteAwesome! White collar has such a great cast of secondary characters that there are a wide variety I'd love to see on a badge. Here's hoping Alex gets some love along with the main characters.
ReplyDeleteI just finished Castle season 1. It was much better than I thought it would be and I'm looking forward to watching season 2 when I get a new computer.

ReplyDeleteI'm surprised True Blood and Gossip Girl aren't high on the list for badges considering how many comments their posts get.
ReplyDeleteLet's talk about Grey's Anatomy for a second also. From what I recall, the show gets some of the most page views on this site and also the fewest comments. I suggest a set of badges for that show to encourage all those people to stop lurking so much and get involved in the Spoiler TV community.
Before I ask this, I will state that yes, I am blonde. I don't get it. Where do you find these mysterious badges? I'm afraid this has completely passed me by. *sigh* Oh well, not the first time and probably not the last.

Basically once you log in via the Twitter Button on the right, you get rewarded for your activity here on the site.
a secret Supernatural badge? Now I'm really intrigued! although I think that I know the final three order of the Supernatural badges-- Castiel, Sam and then Dean :)

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how that would work. I don't know anything about the software involved, but if it's connected to the lables, Buffy is simply a "cancelled show". Then again, I've been pushing for the continuation of all tags even after cancellation, so maybe this will help get that started lol?

ReplyDeleteFor some reason I have a really hard time getting the show specific badges. I've been commenting alot on some of the shows the last couple of weeks but haven't got a single one in a month or two. And I'm either only on level 1 or haven't even unlocked them. Buuh..

ReplyDeleteJust curious really, as this is a great idea to promote people being more active.
We plan on doing probably the 20 most popular shows and then see where we're at. It takes a fair amount of time to setup, create and configure each new set of badges.
ReplyDeleteIf we get time we'll try adding more but currently we're aiming for 20.
I think 20 is more then enough but that's just me lol.
