voted renewed: CSI,CSI:Miami, The mentalist, the good wife, NCIS, NCIS LA, hawaii 5.0, criminal minds and cancelled: CSI NY and two and a half men... not sure about any of them though...
- CSI : Lawrence Fishburne's departure won't hurt the show much, the face-off with L&O SVU will though. - NCIS : could go either way, taken off the air after 2 eps or renewed. Long shot but I'm gonna go with renewed. - NCIS Los Angeles : USA Network bought the syndication rights, it helps a lot, it'll get a 4th season. - Hawaii Five-O : TNT bought the syndication rights, it helps a lot, it'll get a 3rd season. - CSI Miami : I would've said it would be the final season but Pan Am/The Firm don't target the same people. - Criminal Minds : Given the ratings last season, there's nothing to be afraid of. - Two and a Half Men : The premiere will be huge and then it'll maintain well enough. - Mike & Molly : Still less popular than Two and a Half Men but this big lead-in will get M&M renewed. - The Big Bang Theory : The show is already renewed for seasons 6 and 7. - Blue Bloods : It was a big hit on old people on Fridays, it's the same timeslot, no problem for season 3. - The Mentalist : I don't think the show is in danger at all. - The Good Wife : Facing DH will be tough but this is a critically beloved drama, CBS will give it a pass. - Person of Interest : I don't think it has the potential to be a massive hit but it'll appeal to the young viewers. - The 2-2 : There are some talented people behind this show, if it gets the 10pm timeslot on Tues it could work.
Cancelled :
- CSI NY : I think this might be it, the CSI franchise will start being disbanded in a few months. - 2 Broke Girls : the post HIMYM timeslot didn't work out well these last few years.
Pulled early :
- How to be a Gentleman : I don't want this show to fail, but I feel like the bromance might not work. - A Gifted Man : people won't get what it's about, it's at 8 so there's no lead-in... dead after a few weeks. - Urforgettable : I already have a clever pun for when this show will be taken off the air.
I'm predicting that one of the CSI's will go. I think I said Miami (I voted an hour ago and I forgot). I just think CSI exhaustion will start to set in. Maybe the same for one of the NCIS's. I think this will be the last season for 2 1/2 men. The Sheen/Kutcher excitement will die down and the show will die of old age. The Good Wife, Hawaii Five 0, and the Mentalist are hits and will stay. Two Broke Girls doesn't look too good. It'll be pulled. Unforgettable, same thing. I never heard of 2-2. It's bad if people haven't heard of it. I hope Person of Interest proves to be--interesting. It could go either way. I've read good things about Mike and Molly. I'll have to start watching. It'll stay.
Criminal Minds and the Mentalist will get renewed, CSI, CSI: Miami, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles might get renewed, CSI: NY might complete the season but then will probably get cancelled. Unforgettable will probably be pulled early...it just doesn't sound unique enough to grab it's own audience... Same with Two Broke Girls... Person of Interest might make it though... The rest of them I don't know.
Both NCIS shows will be renewed, since they are two of the highest rated shows on CBS and Television, I really don't see either one being canceled for any reason. H50, Blue Bloods and Criminal Minds will also be renewed as they did well last year and will continue to. One of the CSIs will go I hope Miami, but probably NY. I don't really pay attention to the comedy side of things.
I wont be watching any new CBS comedies until Season Two so I wont get attached and have it pulled away like they have done so many times in the past. 2 Broke Girls looks like dumb. I can't believe that crap is replacing Mad Love. F off CBS.
"I agree on all of yours listed, but think 1 of the CSI's could get the boot this year after coming so close last year."
So do I. That's why I listed CSI: NY under "canceled." :)
"I'm not sold on The 2-2 or Unforgettable honestly, but CBS procedurals tend to do well... especially cop procedurals"
Poppy Montgomery's last CBS cop procedural averaged over 10mil. viewers and her new show has a cushy time slot behind the NCIS franchise. Since the show fits the lineup better than The Good Wife, I expect it to do well, even if the show is mediocre or lousy.
The 2-2 is a wild card. It's a midseason show with no premiere date. I figure since Leelee Sobieski is as appealing as sour milk and since I really like Adam Goldberg and everything he's in gets canceled I figured this show was going to get the hook. :)
I guess I can see both CSI: NY and CSI: Miami being cancelled.... Outside chance, but possible.
I dislike cop procedurals usually and feel I am biased and cannot judge Unforgettable and 2-2 fairly... Poppy is a draw so like you stated, it should be safe. It just looks terrible to me personally though.
The 2-2 looks bad to me too, but honestly it looks better than Rookie Blue and it was renewed. I know it was a different network.. so different rules. CBS viewers do seem to like cop shows.... For your Adam Goldberg liking self, I hope it's picked up! XD
I love CSI NY, I really want that show to get renewed but it has the lowest ratings of all the CSI's :( I voted for Hawaii 5-0, Blue Bloods to get renewed as well. I hope CBS does the right thing
There's some shows I've watched off and on through the years that I am glad are still on. I usually the dvds from Netflix and watch them without the commercials. I am so glad to see Hawaii Five-O being such a hit. Alex O'Loughlin is a great actor. He deserves a great show.
The Good Wife is always on the bubble and people were surprised Blue Bloods got renewed last year. The sure bets are NCIS and The Mentalist getting renewed. I'm hoping 2 Broke Girls is as funny as the promos. It looks like the best bet for new comedy to me.
The CSI franchise seems to be waning. I'd say it's a fair bet that at least one of them will go after next year, possibly two. Las Vegas has the best shot of staying in my opinion. Two and 1/2 Men doesn't need the ratings it formerly got to be renewed so that's the most interesting race. My guess - Either it will tank so badly it will be pulled early or renewed for 1 year and then out.
I think yours is the closest to what will actually happen so far. However, I think Unforgettable will prove to be utterly forgettable in a sea of procedurals. I'm also not sure on Good Wife and Blue Bloods. I think their fate lie solely in the hands of the freshmen shows. If too many do well, my guess is they get booted.
I don't think it's an outside chance that both CSI Miami and NY get cancelled. The franchise is faltering, they both already have syndication deals, and they are expensive. I think that if given a chance, CBS will drop them. Of course, the freshmen series will have to do well and CBS will need a good roster of pilots for the next season also.
I'm pretty sure Hawaii 5-0 is a sure thing, too. From what I've heard, 2 Broke Girls is actually funny. And if any of the CSI's gets cancelled, I'm gonna guess it would be the original (and best one) since the three of the original stars have or are jumping ship and they're moving them from their cushy Thursday timeslot. I like Ted Dansen, but I'm not sure he can carry it without the rest of the support cast. George Eads has his work cut out for him.
Shows that i think/know goin to get renewed are: CSI: Miami and CSI: Las Vegas The Good Wife NCIS and NCIS: LA Criminal Minds The Mentalist Blue Bloods 2 Broke Girls Person of Interest Mike and Molly
Shows that i think/know goin to get cancelled are: Two and a Half Men A Gifted Man How to Be a Gentleman Unforgettable CSI : NY
I think they should cancel at least one of the CSI... as the one I like least is NY, I hope it is that... LV is the best of the 3 i think, even without Grissom... and Sara is back, so I think it'll stay at least 1 or 2 years more! :)
CSI NY should be cancelled (and Miami too). 2 broke girls has no chance for me. The only important shows to be renewed are the mentalist and criminal minds!!!!!! And I beleive in Person of interest, looks good!!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
can someone tell me what "pulled early" means exactly ? is it that they are gonna air it before they were suppose to ? or something else ?
ReplyDeleteIt's explained in the original post.
ReplyDeleteIt means they "pull" it before it's completed it's season.
Judging by their popularity, these shows will likely get renewed.
ReplyDeleteBlue Bloods
Hawaii Five-0
The Good Wife
I am not entirely sure about 2 Broke Girls. I would like to check out the first episode first. Will it be Lucy & Ethel or Laverne & Shirley good.
Gotta find out what The 2-2 is.
there should be a renewed and then cancelled next year option because I think that applies to a few of them.
ReplyDeletevoted renewed: CSI,CSI:Miami, The mentalist, the good wife, NCIS, NCIS LA, hawaii 5.0, criminal minds
ReplyDeleteand cancelled: CSI NY and two and a half men... not sure about any of them though...
We're only doing it for this coming season. It would be too complicated to keep track of everything.

ReplyDeleteAs long as The Mentalist is renewed (which it almost definitely will be) then i'm happy!
ReplyDeleteThough I do like Blue Bloods as well. Thankfully I can see that being steady on Friday nights again this year, and getting a 3rd Season renewal.
Criminal Minds and the Mentalist will get renewed, CSI, CSI: Miami, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles might get renewed, CSI: NY might complete the season but then will probably get cancelled. ReplyDeleteCancelled:
ReplyDeleteBlue Bloods
CSI: NY
Person Of Interest
The 2-2
Pulled:
A Gifted Man
How To Be A Gentleman
Freshman Renewals:
Two Broke Girls
Unforgettable
(all shows not listed are presumed to be renewed)
I feel like the only new show that will get renewed is Person of Interest
ReplyDeleteTHE GOOD WIFE. :D
ReplyDeleteIt must be renewed!
As well as Person of Interest, hopefully.
I agree on all of ours listed, but think 1 of the CSI's could get the boot this year after coming so close last year.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sold on The 2-2 or Unforgettable honestly, but CBS procedurals tend to do well... especially cop procedurals!

ReplyDeleteThe one sure bet here: NCIS renewed. The Mentalist renewed is next surest. Most interesting will be Two and 1/2 Men.
ReplyDeleteThe Good Wife is always on the bubble and people were surprised Blue Bloods got renewed last year. The sure bets are NCIS and The Mentalist getting renewed. I'm hoping 2 Broke Girls is as funny as the promos. It looks like the best bet for new comedy to me.

ReplyDeleteNCIS is the number one scripted TV show. It will definitely be renewed. It's a surer bet than Mentalist.
ReplyDeleteI think yours is the closest to what will actually happen so far. However, I think Unforgettable will prove to be utterly forgettable in a sea of procedurals. I'm also not sure on Good Wife and Blue Bloods. I think their fate lie solely in the hands of the freshmen shows. If too many do well, my guess is they get booted.
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point that it is after NCIS. That's the best place to be if you are on CBS. I might need to reverse my prediction on that basis alone.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's an outside chance that both CSI Miami and NY get cancelled. The franchise is faltering, they both already have syndication deals, and they are expensive. ReplyDeleteAlso NCIS: LA, and Hawaii 50 are basically safe bet.
ReplyDeleteHoping that The Good Wife and Person of Interest will be renewed as I predicted.
ReplyDeleteUnless it's a total disaster of a show, Unforgettable has "time slot hit" written all over it.
ReplyDeleteCBS needs to keep renewing Hawaii Five 0 for the next 10 years.
ReplyDeleteI quit counting the episodes by the time NCIS reached 150 episodes! I can't believe it's been that long! I'm so proud of them! *-*
ReplyDeleteCSI NY should be cancelled (and Miami too). 2 broke girls has no chance for me.
ReplyDeleteThe only important shows to be renewed are the mentalist and criminal minds!!!!!!

well lets hope the shows i watch survive another year
