  1. I loved it! Great info on Duke's past. Evi and Chris both need to go.

    Great episode!

  2. I agree! No "recurring guest character" is ever randomly introduced on Haven and now we know something about why Evi is still hanging around (the mystery surrounding Duke, a character I like more and more). Vince and Dave are both Audrey/Nathan "Shippers" - the question is, is their interest that A/N are a great "romantic pairing" OR is that they think/feel A/N have some "destiny" to fulfill in Haven because they've known (but aren't telling yet) the "relationship" between Audrey and Lucy from the beginning.

I "booed" :-) and hissed  when Audrey and Chris started tearing each other's clothes off - I hope that Chris is just another "troubled person" that Audrey is "immune to" that was introduced as a Audrey "LI" to add another "distance" in the "will they or won't they?" to the triangle between Audrey/Nathan/Duke.

  3. I don't see what the big deal is with Chris. He's a temporary character, like that woman from season one that Nathan was dating. I don't remember hearing any complaints about that. Just like Nathan, why shouldn't Chris be attracted to her. Her emotions for him are real, and not something forced on her because of his ability. If I was in his position, I would find myself drawn to her as well.

Audrey needs to decompress. Her entire life revolves around Lucy and the troubles. Passion is nice wherever you find it. Also, it's still too soon for Audrey and Nathan. Unlike most tv shows, this one can't rely on the "get them together then break them up then get them together" tactic that most shows use. It would just feel totally out of place.

Emily said in an interview that Chris is a fling. That's it.

  4. Chris has a role to play and I am intrigued by that idea. Then again I was never shipping Audrey and duke or Audrey and Nathan. To me he adds a new dynamic that allows both Audrey and Nathan to evolve... always needed!

Evi I think is connected to Audrey's "agent" Howard. I haven't heard his voice in a while , but I thought that may be him on the phone with Evi. Plus having a new "inside man" in Haven would b important to "agent" Howard now that the Sheriff is dead.

It's playing out slowly, but I think we will get more behind the Haven history or answer what it's all about by seasons end. I hope.

  5. Hmmm, was thrilled for the Duke background (had Evi's number from the moment she showed up.  So did Duke but he's let himself be wooooed.)  But the main story just wasn't really working for me.  Least convincing engaged couple EVER.  They fell apart so quickly and easily I was surprise (but I think I missed something about why they were getting married).  Did NOT buy the hand holding at the end.  My attention kept wandering.  It was disappointing after last weeks ep.

  6. I thought the same thing about the person who answered Evi's call but the voice sounded to deep for, well for it to be the same actor.  But I think you're likely right and that's all connected to Audrey's agent howard.  I was kind of bummed they got rid of the second audrey so quickly.  I had hoped her presence would speed up some of the mystery clues.

  7. I thought/hoped Audrey 2 would stick around longer too. : /

  8. That couple was TERRIBLE on every level!
They couldn't act together or separately. I couldn't feel them as a couple.. couldn't feel him as golddigger, she was overplaying everything.... it was like a community theater production....

Not a great episode at all, but I hope it set up some advancement on Haven's mysteries.... If it does lead to Evi being more deeply involved or Chris somehow connected to Audrey or the town.... then it will be a lot better in my mind I guess.

  9. For me, this broke down into who had the best character story lines. The trouble was interesting, but I'm far more interested in the mythology side of Haven, so I wasn't thrilled by it. Audrey had a very typical Audrey arc this episode. She has better material when she's focusing on the long term stories. Nathan's storyline with Vince and Dave very well could have been dropped. It was boring to me (but I've never been sold on Nathan/Audrey. Duke by far had the best storyline of the three, but even then, it was slow to pick up.

I must say, I'm way more interested in Evi now than I was in any of the previous episodes because of that phone call. Still not a fan of Chris. I think he's a pretty flat character, but I do think he's necessary for Audrey's emotional development. At least Jess (Nathan's love interest first season) had some interesting depth when she was introduced.

My only complaint about this show is really the way the recurring guests are written. These side characters become plot points and are not fully developed as people, which can make them annoying at times. Fraudrey was very interesting, but again, just a plot point and proof that these characters are all expendable. I take it we'll be saying goodbye to Evi in a little bit and Chris is just in four episodes, so he'll be gone, too, and most likely never mentioned ever again...

  11. ITA - let the poor girl get some. My only issue with Chris is that I'm having a hard time buying Audrey being interested in him... their scenes together don't really generate a lot of spark. I like the idea of this cranky guy fending off the adoration of the town, and I see why Audrey's immunity to said trouble is intriguing to him, but I don't really see what he brings to the table for her. I wish they had a more fun, flirty vibe - more chemistry.

I do think enjoy Chris' scenes, though - he's amusing, and I like the different sides he's bringing out in other characters. It's hilarious watching the regulars fawn over him, and what his presence meant for Nathan in this episode was definitely, uh, interesting... Actually, I'm kind of surprised to see them go there with Nathan/Audrey. I'm not sure if I'm 100% on board, but I guess we'll see how it all plays out. And, of course, this is Haven so maybe things aren't quite as they seem...

  12. It was a great episode ! But i felt like the Nathan-Audrey thing was forced in this episode the fact that dave and vince (thank god they wrote it on the wall i can never remember their names for some reason) kept telling him about audrey when they never did before ( not that i can remember...) and Nathan never really mentioned anything about loving her before etc. I like the fact that Audrey has a love interest, but something is off, too quickly when there was no "spark" no sexuel tension or anything...I don't know it feels a little weird. Over all I like the fact that Audrey has someone and i'm excited to see Nathan's reaction...
