ReplyDeleteBwah! There are some very unequal matches in this part of the round. More so than the other parts overall. The difficult round I thought was today was actually yesterday so I'm guessing there won't be a whole lot of struggle for most people today.

The ones that pained me: appoinent in samarra vs 2 minutes to midnight. I went with the former. Both are amazing episodes, mainly because death was in both of them and he was awesome. One of my fave side characters. To be honest, I voted for appointment because death was in it so it was better and then afterwards I realized he was in the other one too. Oh well
Next toughie was hammer of the gods vs all hell breaks loose 2. Maybe not too hard a decision, more a painful one. But, as much as I love hammer of the gods, I love all hell breaks loose 2. Probably my 2nd or 3rd fave episode. I was just upset i couldnt vote hammer Of gods. I love the trickster
Last was on the head of a pin vs ghostfacers. Seems I went with the unpopular vote by choosing the latter. This one I gave the most thought too because head of a pin is an absolutely incredible episode. But I just love ghostfacers. I dont know what it is about them but I find them funny and I always prefer the funny to the serious on supernatural. But either one is awesome

ReplyDeleteAlways a good choice. I just rewatched the Curious Case of Dean Winchester and found that I loved it more than I remembered. I thought it was great in my memory. I'm upgrading it to awesome because of all the funny lines and Dean's monologue/verbal smackdown to keep Bobby from contemplating suicide..

ReplyDeleteHere's my philosophy. There are good episodes, bad episodes, and freaking amazing episodes. However, 90% of the bad episodes are better than 90% of most shows' best episodes. Supernatural, even when it sucks, rocks my world in ways other shows cannot.

I just whizzed through the polls UNTIL I got to Appointment in Samarra vs. 2 Minutes to Midnight. *typing thought process* We had Death in both, Crowley in 2 Min. & Tessa in AiS. The introduction to Death in 2 Min. was AWESOME! But I remember how 2 Min. started with Pestilence (Ewww!) and Sam gets resouled at the end of AiS. YAY! So.....

That was my same thought process when I chose Appointment in Samarra. Pestilence is the biggest down side to 2Minutes and Sam being resouled along with the kitchen Death scene was the biggest plus for Appointment. I also liked the Death's ring plot. Although I do admit the first meeting with Death was the preferable Death scene of teh two.

I chose Its A Terrible Life though, only b/c Sam and Dean were the focus of the episode and as much as I love Cas, I love them more

It's a Terrible Life is up near Mystery Spot for me, so it gets my vote.

Well Jo and Ellen's death made it a compelling episode not to mention the unfruitful
meeting of the boys with Lucifer.
Two Minutes to Midnight gets my vote for the meeting of Dean with Death but it begins my angst for the forthcoming death of poor Sammy, and for Dean's pain at the losing of his brother.
I'll give my vote to Born Under a Bad Sign for possessed Sammy and for loyal big brother Dean who would never ,ever, kill his brother, no matter what.
This was an easy one for me.

Mystery Spot - I'm not a fan of Mystery Spot but I'll take it over a Ghostfacers appearance any day.
ReplyDeleteHammer Of The Gods - A fantastic episode. Light years better than either AHBL episode, no matter how many people vote for it.
Great Pumpkin - This is another match-up where I'm not really a fan of either episode.
On The Head Of A Pin - It won by default when I saw the word "Ghostfacers."
TMWWBK - Not a big fan but I'll take it over a "what if" every time.
Abandon All Hope - A standout episode for not just the season but the entire series.
2 Min. to Midnight - Both episodes in this match-up are great but "2 min." is less depressing.
Home - Honestly can't explain why I chose this one. I just like it better.

ReplyDeleteYikes! I'm not sure why it disappeared. I had to adjust the poll's end time because originally I mistakenly put it in the 4th part instead of the third. I wonder why that zapped it completely though. Anyway, the results were Mommy Dearest with 224 votes and 51.85% of the vote. Monster Movie had 208 votes and 48.15% of the votes. I'm a bit sad because I would have loved Monster Movie to move on, but I liked mommy Dearest too so all is good. Besides, no matter which one won, I'd still be voting against it in the next round and now it won't be quite as hard.
ReplyDeleteHell House had the misfortune of going against one of the most popular episodes of them all. I expect Mystery Spot to win to be honest, since while there are people who don't find it funny, there are very few people who don't like it.

ReplyDeleteNo matter which one wins of TMWWBK and IaTL, they go against Abandon All Hope next and I foresee people having problems choosing in that one. I will not be one of them but it should be interesting to see which one takes the lead and even more so, how close it will be.

ReplyDeleteI think this was the hardest for most people. Death is such an awesome character that had his episodes been against other ones, they both would probably make it into to next round. Well, unless they went against Mystery Spot. I'm not sure even Death can outdo the Trickster.
ReplyDeleteMy sentiments exactly for A Very Supernatural Christmas. It's hard not to vote for that episode because it has something for everyone in it. The WeeChesters broke my heart and we got the reason why the amulet is so important to Dean. Awesomeness all around.

ReplyDeleteIt's the one where the angels want Dean to torture Alastair. Dean does, Alastair tortures Dean in turn. Dean learns that he broke the first seal and we end with a drying broken Dean in the hospital with Cas.

ReplyDeleteWe had all but one the same. I came very close to going with It's a Terrible Life. I just liked them both equally, and The Man Who Would be King is a one I just recently rewatched on DVR and I still find that I like a lot.

Thankfully, many of my favorite episodes (except a very notable NOT favorite - grrr ... ;) ) have advanced to round 2 so even if my "preferred choices" in subsequent "round 2 voting brackets" don't advance to round 3, I won't have much issue with the final winner.
