Ed O'Neill received the 2,446th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday (August 30), honoring a career highlighted by his portrayal of shoe salesman Al Bundy on the TV comedy "Married...With Children." Born in Youngstown, Ohio, O'Neill played football at Youngstown State University. After being cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers during their 1969 training camp, O'Neill returned to Youngstown State and was one of the first students in its theater program. He is currently seen on the award-winning ABC sitcom "Modern Family" in the role of Jay Pritchett, for which he received Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
