Okay, Olivia seemed to think that Xman in the cartoon ep was the man who was going to kill her but in the original timeline it was Walternate who actually killed her. Now we have a new timeline and there's still a chance that Xman could kill her or at least try. That tells me that Liv may be able to see through the various timelines as well. I think eventually she'll remember the original timeline and what part Peter played in their lives. She has all those fancy powers after all.
I've been wondering a lot of things myself since I read that season 4 will start with Walter still in the psych hospital because Peter was never around to get him out.
I don't have the answer to that one. Here's the excerpt from TV Guide's Mega Buzz column:
How is Fringe going to handle Peter never existing? — Amanda
NATALIE: Au contraire, Amanda! Peter did exist, according to the man who plays his father, John Noble. He says the final scene of the season finale, in which the Observers appear to negate Peter's existence "was a slight teaser in the wrong direction, because Peter did exist, but Peter died as a child; both Peters died as a child." As a result, the Season 4 premiere might remind you of It's a Wonderful Life, as we'll find Walter in a familiar predicament. "When we meet him in Season 4, he's still insane, locked into the lab with guards, and mad because he's never had Peter to bring him out of it," Noble says. "He won't have had that motivation to repair himself, so he's quite mad and neurotic and obsessive-compulsive. He's agoraphobic, so he won't go out of the lab."
I didn't even think about that guy being the person who kills Olivia instead of Walternate in the altered timeline. And I think you're right. I think it's going to be her that remembers or knows about Peter.
Nope it's all good! I just wanted to make sure you hadn't heard it from somewhere else and I hadn't misunderstood it. I wonder what Astrid will be like with Walter if he's still like that...or if she's really be in the lab a whole lot...
That's a good question. I'm not sure it has been brought up before. For all I know, Astrid could be a gun-toting field agent in this reality and Brandon is Walter's assistant. :)
i read this, but i disagree with john noble. if they said he never existed, it means he never existed. it was pretty clear. if it turns out that he did exist but didn't survive, then the finale was misleading and they will have been fooling us...
I really miss the comments section of darkufo. People were thinking about what's happening (even if it was all for nothing at the end). It's different here. But hell, it looks like Fringe is gonna endup like Lost anyway. Didn't Blair Brown mentioned that season 4 could also be watched by newbies who don't have the knowledge of all the former seasons?
I thought the idea of a an astral projected Peter (just like John Scott) in "The Plateau" was super important! --It plays on 'white tulip' ---> hidden layers of time and space (memory)---proof of timeline/memory alteration.
I think September says, they won't remember him---
I know the showrunners are trying to play 'the non existence card, but I think they probably mean 1. Something will happen to red Peter--he won't reach adult hood. 2. White Tulip---their memory of what happened has been altered (because memory is the key to reality and identity, time is fluid), but that doesn't mean what happened before didn't happen, nor does it mean there won't be proof of something left behind... (deja vu/material objects)
Assuming he didn't die of natural causes or in an accident since events have changed, yes - he should be. I seriously doubt he will be though. Nimoy, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to like working regularly.
Realistically with the past now altered, depending on how changed the present is from the events of last season..... anyone we know from the past three years that died could be back. Charlie and John Scott both have new series (or the actors do) so they won't be back in all likelihood, but David Robert Jones or anyone else could in theory return.
The thing is that each monster of the week or episode villain may be totally different since the past was changed. We could be encountering familiar faces that are not quite how we remember them.
To use a Fringe-ism... Imagine the impossibilities.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Aghhhh Where's Peter!? lol
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for new Season 4 footage!
ReplyDeletethis question has just undone the whole three seasons .. I just hope the answer is worth it!
ReplyDeleteEmotional scene for Olivia! Maybe she will haveing some flashbacks with those moments with Peter in spite of his disappearance.
ReplyDeleteEPIC!
ReplyDeleteBolivia and the baby need to get in on this too.
ReplyDeleteWould she have even gone to the other side if Peter didn't exist?! Season 4 needs to start already. This wait and these teasers are driving me nuts!
ReplyDeleteI think that clip was used more for it's story relevance and dramatic effect than it was for its time travel accuracy.
ReplyDeleteSo many questions! I'm so excited for season 4 to start.

ReplyDeleteHere are the two new pictures :)
ReplyDeleteMe likey! Love the Polivia angle being featured
ReplyDeleteOh I know but it's still something I've been wondering about a lot since the season finale and I really want to know the answer.
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering a lot of things myself since I read that season 4 will start with Walter still in the psych hospital because Peter was never around to get him out.
ReplyDeletei agree. i think it will be olivia the one who will become somehow "aware" of peter. after all, her subconscious is a tricky one!
ReplyDeletethese promos are making me crazy!!!!! over a month left... :S
ReplyDeleteyes!
ReplyDeleteI always felt that 'perception Peter' was actually real and not in her mind when she was trapped over there. This solidifies that theory for me.
ReplyDeletewhy would he be in there, to start with. it wasn't so much his experimenting that drove him crazy, but the whole peter and elisabeth thing.
ReplyDeleteOk, Season 4, I don't know if you hear this, but you have to start NOW!!! Please! I can't wait for September anymore.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait
ReplyDeleteI don't have the answer to that one. Here's the excerpt from TV Guide's Mega Buzz column:

I thought he was in the lab under guard at the start of season 4? Isn't that what Pinkner and Wyman said? Season 4 needs to get here sooner.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even think about that guy being the person who kills Olivia instead of Walternate in the altered timeline. And I think you're right. I think it's going to be her that remembers or knows about Peter.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I misread it. My apologies.

ReplyDeleteLove it and can't wait!!
ReplyDeletesuspense is killing me! agh!
ReplyDeletewhere the hell is peter Bishop?! awww I can't wait for new season!
ReplyDeleteCannot wait!
ReplyDelete;-/! Your right Walter, ahhhhhhhhhhhh I can't wait!! omg. come one this moth and a half can't go fast enough. FRINGE!! COme back.!!
ReplyDeletei read this, but i disagree with john noble. if they said he never existed, it means he never existed. it was pretty clear. if it turns out that he did exist but didn't survive, then the finale was misleading and they will have been fooling us...
ReplyDeleteduring comic-con jasika did say astrid would finally be out on the field with a gun!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
ReplyDeletethey are so good at making us more excited for next season

Very interesting thanks :D Maybe Olivia in the key to how Peter come back in season 4?
ReplyDeleteI didn't quite get the sentence, what was it saying?
ReplyDeleteMaybe will happen something like that episode in the apartment..i think it's 6B...
ReplyDeleteI thought the idea of a an astral projected Peter (just like John Scott) in "The Plateau" was super important! --It plays on 'white tulip' ---> hidden layers of time and space (memory)---proof of timeline/memory alteration.
ReplyDeletePerfect clip. Makes you wonder, maybe his being was transferred to the alternate universe, and his ghost was shown to Olivia.
ReplyDeleteI love this show even when I have no idea whats happening. 41 mores days peeps.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely good news. I've been wanting to see that.
ReplyDeleteWell, Noble himself said it was a teaser in the wrong direction so you don't disagree with him as much as you may think. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is very good stuff. Just finished watching all of it. I am very excited about what will happen next.
ReplyDeleteI think September says, they won't remember him---

Ahh. Thank you. Looks like Walter just left the deprivation tank.
ReplyDeletePeter!
ReplyDeleteThinking this through, our side never went to get Peter, which means William Bell should still be alive on that side. Right?
ReplyDeleteAssuming he didn't die of natural causes or in an accident since events have changed, yes - he should be. I seriously doubt he will be though. Nimoy, for whatever reason, doesn't seem to like working regularly.

This is my Favourite Where is Peter Teaser Love it
ReplyDeleteOur Walter never went to take Peter from the other side, which technically means that Peter that died possibly didn't
ReplyDelete
