Yesterday saw one of the biggest shocks of the competition with the very popular Castle & Beckett finding themselves knocked out of the running by Kurt and Blaine of Glee. Congrats to the Glee fans who pulled off a fine victory and now have two couples into the second round...
Also yesterday Buffy & Angel did what Buffy & Spike could not, and saw off their round one opposition, this time being Meredith & Derek of Grey's Anatomy and as a result take their place in the next round.
Today sees Damon Salvatore & Elena Gilbert of The Vampire Diaries challenging True Blood's Sookie Stackhouse & Eric Northman in an all-vampire mashup, as well as Sawyer & Juliet Burke of LOST challenging Nikita & Michael of spy thriller Nikita.

What?! Are you kidding? That's the hardest pole yet! Sookie and Eric get's my vote. Even though both female characters are starting to get on my last nerve there just something about Sookie and Eric.
ReplyDeleteI dislike Nikita/Michael and Juliet/Sawyer equally. At a push I'd probably vote for Juliet/Sawyer because I really dislike the way Michael has become Nikita's whipping boy, but I just cant bring myself to vote for Juliet/Sawyer as best couple.

ReplyDeleteHad to be Eric and Sookie. Damon and Elena do nothing for me. Damon is such a walking cliche. Plus, I'd have a hard time dating someone who snapped my brother's neck in anger. My ideal pairing on that show is Elena/Elijah but the awful Elena/Stefan/Damon triangle seems set in stone so whatever.

And for those of you saying they're not couple... since when are Dean and Castiel dating? How about Caroline and Tyler? And yet they're in this competition as well. So stop whining, being an official couple has nothing to do with this.

If that were true, then every relationship in the show (niece/sister/brother/friend/boyfriend) would be pointless. People wouldn't be sad about death, angry about betrayal. If emotions have no basis in reality, then where do you work from? They drive the plot. It's pretty much the first thing you learn in film school/creative writing. Doesn't matter what the circumstances, honest emotional responses are the key to success. Lol!!!

ReplyDeleteAny doubts who is the best couple on TV> They're truly, they act as a true couple should act. Nothing forced, everything so nice and sweet. They're the best.
ReplyDeleteSawyer and Juliet are soulmates, something real and believable and not based on sexual tension. And never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her James. Putting them up against a couple that's based one chemistry and so-called "hotness" is just ugh I don't even. Either way, if Mikita does win seeing as how Nikita fans are a bit rabid and it IS the one that's on air whereas Lost ended almost a year ago, we all know their story could never be as beautiful and pure as James and Juliet's, hotter maybe, but I don't think any couple could come close to how beautifully written and executed as James/Juliet. Des/Penny and Sun/Jin (Peter/Olivia and Lincoln/Altliv one day maybe but not quite there yet) maybe but not an on and off, lusty, UST-based relationship like Mikita. That is just so cliche now.
