Yesterday saw strong performances from Chuck & Sarah of 'Chuck' who easily made it into the next round of the competition, as well as a close but clear victory for Mulder & Scully of 'The X-Files'. As a result we say goodbye to the Tenth Doctor and Rose of 'Doctor Who' as well as Clark Kent and Lois Lane of 'Smallville.' They did well but not quite well enough :P
Today sees an all 'Gossip Girl' showdown as Chuck and Blair take on Dan & Serena for a place in the next round and we also have 'Glee' vs. 'NCIS' with Finn and Rachel challenging Tony and Ziva for a place in the next round!

ReplyDeleteI voted Dan/Serena on poll #1. Two reasons: I really liked D/S in early years, and I NEVER liked C/B. So, easy choice. D/S was a really good relationship, it defined Gossip Girl and some part of me want them to go back to it, shared brother or not.

ReplyDeleteI don't know but it's unfair. This is supposed to be a 24 hours kinda thing. It's spoiler tv a serious website. But this poll have been open way more than 24 hours and because of that they second winner should not have been. Tony and Ziva fans have been all over this poll all day finding people to vote and we were first by more than 100 vote for hours AND at the time where this poll should have been closed. I'm not voting anymore. This competition sucks and is invalid. If people cannot organize a competition fairly and correctly they should just not do it at all.
ReplyDeleteThe NCIS couple was ahead at oen time by only 40-50 votes--it was not 100 or more than that. At the 24 hour mark, it was actually still close (I was checking the hour countdown against Adam's comment above). Also, yesterday, Finn and Rachel were ahead by 100-110 votes early on. It will be interesting to see if NCIS fans make a stink about this,

ReplyDeleteNo, that's a fact. She swept his legs out from under him and he fell to the ground (had a broken arm - from Rivkin - so he couldn't even break his fall). She then pulled a gun on him and put it 1st against his heart and then his left leg.

2nd - Tony and Ziva aren't together and have never been together. Come back in, the water is just fine. (The only time they were "together" was when they were undercover as married assassins and right near the end Tony asked for a divorce).
Actually I'd be interested in the results of you were asking about Gibbs-Tony being (or possibly shouuld be) a couple. The main argument from the NCIS fanbase that ship TIVA is that Tony and Ziva have this amazing onscreen chemistry that is VISIBLE to all and sundry and those of us who don't see it should a) stop watching, b) stop commenting on how toxic Tony and Ziva are (fraught with neurotic banter is the kindest statement I could make about that couple and down right poisonous given some of Ziva's actons), and my all time favorite c) get life.
ReplyDeleteLily18's behaviour is, unfortunately, somewhat representative ((what I hope is a small) of a sector of the NCIS fanbase who believe that they are entitled to TIVA (having reduced Tony to a single letter in a smoosh name no less); the problem is these people are also very LOUD.
Mind you, seeing commentas about how Tony should MAN up and be the man for Ziva. How Tony is a man-whore for even looking at EJ and he should fall on his knees and beg Ziva's forgiveness. That Tony will go after anyting in a skirt. That Tony is a clown and they have no idea why he was hired in the first place. Comments like this lead me to believe that these people are projecting onto ZIva and that becaise Michael Waetherly is incredibly handsome and plays Tony DiNozzo then ZIva (they) should have him be totally in LUV with ZIva (them).
That some of us long time fans of NCIS (may of whom happily ship in FANFICTION) but don't want or demand that the possible romantic ships we see become canon have despaired at how the Tony we saw in season 1 and 2 has been slaughtered onthe altar of TIVA (as we believe was a directive from Shane Brennan) and made to look like the class clown who couldn't investigate his way out of a wet paper bag and must always be rescued by the super-ninja-assassin-kick-ass-Ziva. That NCIS seems (finally) to be stepping back from that cliff and producing the sort of tight, quirky stories we fell in love with is a joy... though I still fear we are going to have TIVA shoved down our throats.
That Tony and Gibbs have been ret-conned almost out of recognition in an attempt to justify WHY Ziva is even still on the team is another beef; This is the woman who actually asked Gibbs to throw Tony off the team becasue she couldn't TRUST him anymore after he'd killed her then 'boyfriend' in self-defence as the ending of a plot line that should have had Ziva being arrested as an accomplive before the fact, as an accessory after the fact and obstruction of justice in regards the death of the ICE agent. There is also the question of Ziva's complicity in Kate's death due to the ret-connong that she's been sent to Kill Ari in the first place. This doesn't even begin to touch on the glorification of violence that character repeatedly shows, up to and including killing a restrained suspect because he 'annoyed her' and the biggy Pushing her partner (the man she supposedly loves) to the ground, kicking him and pulling a gun on hm, even though he has his arm in a sling and is still recovering from when HER boyfriend tried to kill him all because HE (Tony)asked for it. Talk about Abusive behaviiour and it's always the victims fault.
PS: still waiting for NCIS to deal with that one but me thinks they are too cowardly (the executive) to address something even though they were the ones who created the problem in the first place.
Sorry for long post but some of us really don't want to see Tony in a relationship with Ziva and that desire is not based on wanting our own 'ship' but because of reasons stated above. If TIVA sailed it is an implicit statement that the sort of behaviour the character ehibits is acceptable which it is not.
There is no such thing as It's ONLY TV.
Actually serious polls are the last thing some of these people want; the only valid result is that TIVA is the be all and and all couple of TV. When called on ballot stuffing etc the TIVAnistahs repy is that they don't do that it's just everyone sees that Tony and Ziva are this amazing couple... and anyone else who doesn't see it is as blind as a bat. The phrase you are looking for is ENTITLED litlte persons.

I'm not sure if there's anyway to actually prove that, but it is true. I do realise however that you are only human so I'm not going to be one of those people that yell at you, I understand you have lives and can't be on here 24/7. All the other polls were fair which is great, it just would have been good if this one was too. But oh well, we can't change things now, so I'm just going to go vote on the other polls now :)

ReplyDeleteSorry you had to take the brunt of the Tiva entitlement issues. They're like this everywhere I go online. They're extremely aggressive about their ship, which I suppose isn't surprising given how extremely aggressive one half of their ship is towards the other. I guess they just think that kind of behavior is okay which is why they can't see why so many of us find the Tiva ship utterly toxic and hope it never happens onscreen.
