  1.  I am so pleased they are talking HP Lovecraft. I am a huge fan of the myth of Cthulhu. That man's mind was a wealth of imagery and darkness.

  2.  I'm so glad they are NOT doing H.P Lovecraft! It seems his stories will simply play the role of the key to unlocking/where is purgatory.

    Sea? anyone? :)

    R'lyeh!

  3. I love these little sneak peeks with Sera, she's giving us some great inside info.

But I would so prefer a different music, maybe something more... chilling or exciting? I mean, never before have I realized just how big a part of the TV/film experience music is. Seeing Ben run for his life to what is, basically, elevator music is kinda... funny X)

  4. I agree, as someone else pointed out (was it you?), putting the epicness of the monsters that are beyond description from H.P. Lovecraft's would have been too much.  I was hoping and it seems they are simply using the man himself and his books as a stepping stone for their own story which is great.

Also, love the shout out to the brilliance of H.P. Lovecraft and his truly astounding work.  Side note - I purchased a collection of his books in a big tome using the name Necronomicon (which made me grin with pleasure) and on the back it has a quote from Stephen King talking about how H.P. paved the way for horror/sci-fi writers and H.P. is the epitome of them all essentially.  I love that he's getting more recognition to clueless people like Dean (he lost a bunch of points in his supposed cool factor cause of this).

  5. I don't think that is the music for the episode, but for the promo.

  8. I know that. But the promo would be way more exciting with better music. One that would fit what we see on-screen, you know?

  9. I was with Dean on this one, "I'm supposed to know who that is?"  I still can't bring myself to care that Ben and Lisa are in trouble.  I'm really hoping they wrap up the Ben/Lisa storyline in the first half hour and spend the rest of the time on the Heaven/Purgatory/Cas/Crowley/Sam storyline.

  10. I get what you're saying, but I think that's the point. To shield us from the excitement and dramaticness that you know is coming for the episode. They want us to be hit with the anvil per episode, not promo.

  11. I actually like Ben, but I'm with you on this one––they need to end their storyline.  At this point, it's just dirty laundry. Just END it.

  12. Yeah, in my mind the Lisa/Dean relationship ended in Exile when Dean realized he'd rather be out hunting than living with Lisa and Ben, and that he couldn't do both.  So Lisa and Ben should have faded away shortly after that. Let's just hope that the Lisa and Ben drama plays out quickly so that we can get back to the story quickly.

I'm guessing there will be some big moral dilemma that Dean will have to face in connection to the Lisa and Ben situation.  If Lisa and Ben are injured or die, does he call Cas to heal them even though he basically threw down the gauntlet with Cas last episode?  And if he does ask Cas to bring her/them back, does that mean he really hasn't learned the lesson that Death tried to teach him - about letting people die and the natural order?  And if he brings them back, when Death finds out does that mean there will be some Dean ass-kicking by Death next season?  Or does Dean make a deal with Crowley to save them despite his righteous indignation with Cas last episode?

  13. The way I look at it is, Dean will probably not bring them back, IF they were to die. He didn't just lose one brother to Hell, he lost two (where's Adam?), but they haven't really shown him going all out to look for him. I know Sam's the brother he grew up with, but Adam does have some sort of importance through their Dad's side.  I don't know. I don't really care if Lisa and Ben die (I actually care if Ben dies. I don't know why, but I've started to like him), but I just want them to leave already!

Another theory: What if Castiel is asked to erase their memory?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I don't see the point of erasing their memories.  He'd have to erase Dean's memory (erasing an entire year) and send out a bulletin to every evil creature notifying them that Dean no longer remembers Lisa and Ben so killing or kidnapping them to get to Dean is pointless.  If Cas does do that, could he please erase my memory of that storyline as well?

  15. i can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. I love Ben but I'm not a huge fan of Lisa. I mean I like her and all, I'm not bashing her, I jsut thought the Lisa storyline came almost out of nowhere last season. Doesn't mean I want her to die though as I suspect may happen (I didn't like Jo but still balled my eyes out when she died!). Poor Dean. First its Cas, now its Lisa and Ben :(

  17. Having Lisa/Ben show up yet again is my worst nightmare.  Just bury them, Show, and never mention them again.  God, what an absolutely awful storyline that choice was.

  18. Saw the promo last night and actually squeed...so unlike me. I'm in the .0000000001% that actually like Lisa so can't wait to see how that storyline ends. Castiel stop being an assbutt and stealing Bobby's stuff.

  19. I'm conflicted about Ben killing Lisa...first I thought the two unexpected deaths would be Lisa and Ben. But it is SPN and anyone female and family that takes a Winchester in dies so that would be expected, not unexpected (if that makes sense). So I'm thinking now at least Ben lives and doesn't kill his mom but something else does.

    I want more promos!

  20. You are not alone!!!! We are at least two lol. I love Ben and Lisa and I think it's a shame that there isn't more people that do. I am really afraid for next Friday and what will happen to them but at the same time really excited and curious to see how it's going to end :)

  21.  After I posted my comment, I realized all the things you said. LOL I guess, I just want them to leave and not remember the shit they had to deal with because they were involved with Dean, ya know?

And while he's erasing your memories, he can also do the same for mine.

  22.  I wouldn't go far and BURY them, but I would like this stupid storyline to be salted and burned. It needs to be dunzo already.

    ReplyDelete
  23.  I am in the same boat as you! I love Ben, but I hate Lisa (but I do differ from you, in the sense that, I loved Jo). But without Lisa, Ben cannot exist. Sigh.

  24. Everyone keeps talking about  the natural order and when  they die to stay dead and all that ok whats the point of that when Dean himself has died what 150 times gone to hell and heaven countless times we found out  and each time God brought him back were dose the natural order fit in there dose that mean in Supernatural God plays favrites and Deans one of them??

Well in 5x19 we found out Dean was a True servent of God what ever that is!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sam has died quite a few times too. I really dont lie the idea of God playing favourites and that Dean just has to be one of them.

    ReplyDelete
  26.  Well no they dont both die. We see in some pic who is the other death

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't think that God is playing favouirites.  Most of the 150 times were in one episode and that was dueto Gabriel, and I think it wasn't so much that he died like when he went to hell, it was just Gabriel showing Sam what his life would be like without Dean.  More like snippets than actual deaths.  Also God sent them back from Heaven once according to Joshua, but Dean being raised from Hell was because they knew that he was going to start the seals being opened and wanted to stop this.  It was'nt a matter of favourties as Castiela nd Bobby have both been brought back fromt he dead.

  28. I don't think God brought Dean back, I think the angels did because they needed Dean for the Apocalypse.  The angels often put their own selfish needs above the natural order, which is why Death said that Dean and Sam were an "affront" to the natural order by coming back from the dead so many times.

  29.  I love how sad Sam looks for Dean, he looks SO brotherly concerned.

  30. Omg i dont know how no one has brought up the kid playing Ben's acting is in that scene. Hes suppose to be running for his life in terror and he sounds like hes just annoyed that his mom told him to do something. I cant even concentrate on anything else its so incredibly bad. Also I think the reason people dont like the Lisa/Ben storyline is because 1. it wasn't written very well and 2. Everyone just wanted to c the boys back together on the road fighting evil
