  1. such an amazing episode! i did not expect jenna to drink the vampire blood & then get sacrificed by klaus! was also really shocked that elijah saved klaus! OMG i wonder what will happen now that klaus is a hybrid & his werewolf side is active!

  2. amazing episode! sad to see jenna go after being turned, since being turned allowed caroline's character to do a complete 360. she could have had so much potential! alas, a vampire had to be sacrificed, and we all knew that it wasn't going to be stefan. interested to see where klaus' information that his siblings are not lost at sea will lead, as it wil likely lead into next season. bring on the finale!

  4. I'm still crying. amazing episode

  5. I don't think Jenna is dead. She drank an original's blood, which means the only thing that can kill her is that special blade thing. Also, wasn't Elena saying, "shh...she's not dead yet"?

  6. They killed Jenna and John.Elena and Jeremy have no family left now.We know why next season IS being called the year of the Originals. Now how are they going to get damon out of the hole they put him In.

  7. Is elena going to be a vampire? I'm watching with this stupid megavideo thing and it stopped right after Klaus fed on her and she dropped down. Can't wait for 30 min! So, is she?

  8. No.A spell was used to keep her human but John had to sacrifice his life.

  9. Greta was not an original. Greta was a witch, meaning she was completely vulnerable to everything human, even death.

  10. HOLY SMOKES! HOLY SMOKES! HOLY SMOKES! I JUST be KNEW big things were going to be happening tonight! I'm already wishing it was next Thursday already!!!!!

  11. No, she is not. She was revived through a resuscitation spell, courtesy of Emily Bennett. Unfortunately, that means we're no longer going to be seeing any more of John Gilbert......

  12. This is the reason why I enjoy Vampire Diaries so much, they keep you on your feet. It was so sad to see Jenna get killed and then seeing John give his life so his daughter would live as a human was just perfect! Then having Elijah at the last minute not kill Klaus (saw that one coming, it just couldn't be that easy to get rid of Klaus) but basically saving his brother so he could know where his family members are, nice twist and a great way to bring in season 3. It was a perfect episode, the writers did a fantastic job yet again.

  13. Thanks! Jeez, this was quit the episode. I think it was a very original ep, but I didn't like the way they kept Elena human. It was a bit like, you know, there's no other option so let's just cast a spell. I loved Jules so that was a pity, even though I hadn't expected anything else. I think the moments with her and Jenna where very, very intense. And the Klaus/Elijah scene was completely genius, wonderful acting, and very emotional. (apart from the fact that I find it very unlikely that an original can be 'moved' so quickly, if you understand what I mean? Elijah has always had his emotions in complete control and now, on such an important moment, he completely breaks down and listens to Klaus.)

And next week looks so good! Poor Damon, they have to cure him, can't run this show without him haha.

  14. Actually each season is thinly based on the original books and I mean THINLY. And by that I mean they have a completely different plot line that somehow ends up to the main point of the book it is based on. And this season is based on on book 2. So if they follow what they've been doin then yes, Elena will become a vampire in the season finale.

  15. This was the most horrible episode of all.
    Jenna dies.
    John dies.
    Damon is seriously infected.
And the worst of all: It was all for nothing. Klaus succeeded with the ritual and still lives.

I will NEVER, EVER forgive Elijah.
First, he promised Elena to keep her family and friends safe. Too bad, he just wasn't there to safe Jenna. How practical.
Then he promised Elena AND Stefan to help them kill Klaus. And then, when Klaus is almost defeated, he safes him. And for what? Probably for the other Originals.
My guess is, Klaus somehow sealed the other 5 originals (there were 7).

  16. Awesome episode! Frankly on shows like this where death is always in play, not enough characters die. It was refreshing to have 2 die in on episode. I hope they stay dead permanently so that death is not cheapened in the series like it is on SPN or so many other shows of that genre.

I never understand why people are surprised when vampires do thngs that serve their self-interest. Hello... VAMPIRE! They are kind of a supercharged "id" monster. Of course they will do selfish things. If they didn't, any vampire series or movie would end up like Twilight. I think we all can agree... that is never a good thing...

  17. If I were Elena I would ask to be turned. For my revenge.
Stefan probably wouldn't do it. But Damon would. He'll do anything for Elena. Or Caroline could do it. She is Elenas friend. She wouldn't let her down.
I would do it without hesitating. Just to get my revenge. Even if it takes me 1000 years. Witch it probably would take to find them.
Even if it is the last thing I do. It probably would be.
I would find and kill Elijah and Klaus. For Jenna. And Ric. And even John.
No matter, how long it takes. No matter, how many humans or wolfs or vampires (or hybrids) I have to kill.
That's the price I'm willing to pay.
I wouldn't stop till I got my revenge.
Jenna was one of the best and purest persons of the show. She never hurt anyone. She never did anything wrong. All she wanted was to take care of her niece and nephew.
    She didn't deserve this.

  22. I knew that Jenna is going to die the moment she got turned into a vampire, and I knew Elijah wont kill Klaus the moment Stephan doubted him. They really shouldn't spoil everything like that.
It would have been a great surprise if Jenna had appeared just before the ritual.
The family of originals shouldn't have been pre-explained at all. It would have been so good if Elijah had run off with Klaus without anyone knowing who wasn't lost at sea. It is so frustraiting.
Also, Elijah sure is stupid. What is to stop the hybrid Klaus from killing him the moment he gets a chance? His word? Seriously?
Of course Damon is not going to die. What happened to Bonnie when she had to die? She cast a spell. What happened when Elena had to die? Bonnie cast a spell. Anybody wanna guess how they are going to save Damon?

  23. awesome episode.

I'm annoyed with Matt, right now. bonnie rocked. Klaus is a punk who weaseled is way to staying alive. Matt punked out. I was starting to wonder if there were going to be any human's left in Mystic Falls. Really sorry about Jenna. Oh, and while I like Tyler and Caroline...I don't like them as a couple. I like them a lot as close friends, but not as a couple.

  24. Cried and cried! poor Elena and Damon, they dont have family anymore, and Alaric without a girlfriend, i think it is time for Kevin Williamson to bring Meredith to the series!!!

  25. Am I the only one who thinks Elena might have come back contaminated? Like "part vampire" or something?I
mean in the books she comes back to life after being a vampire but
isn't normal (though this is those new books, so don't know how you all
    feel about them).

    ReplyDelete
  26. And there nothing about coming back human, only soul intact. So maybe she's now supernatural? Just throwing it out there, should have posted this last night like I did over on tv.com

  27. Awesome, albeit rushed, episode: Stefan wasn't a pretentious douche and I liked him just fine, thanks; Damon didn't act like an obsessed idiot; both he and Stefan got along instead of trying to bitchslap each other like a pair of sixteen-year-old girls; could have used more of my favorite bromance on TV (Alaric/Damon), but I’ll take what I get. I only hope that the awesome carries over to the next episode. The writers have a bad habit of getting too over dramatic with Damon. I'm hoping he'll get to keep his dignity.

    Here's to hoping.

(Man, I can't wait to watch this episode again.)

  28. Pardon? Damon has Stefan. Elena has Jeremy.

  29. My guess is they meant Elena and Jeremy.

  30. Bonnie was AMAZING! HWIC, and hello sexiest ninja-Original-kicking outfit ever to do it in. Loved the PoisonIvy (Batman) kissing trick of sneaky, her keeping Ric safe, working with Damon again - despite everything. "Do it, or I'll end you both." Dang, you go girl!

Greta - Loved Damon for this.
    EmilyJohn.. history repeating.
Matt/Care.. awww. Too sad. Wish she'd yelled a little, but understood he's struggling with loss.
    Tyler: pecs of yum.
Stefan - in love with him more and more. He was offering his own life for their safety - guh. *adores*
Jenna! :( Sara was just getting the well deserved screentime & respect, then they kill her. I can only hope she turns into something else. Those kids are legit Orphans now. Ric as guardian, or neverseen daddy-bennett.

John: He redeemed himself so much this episode. Gonna miss him, won't lie. Loved his speech to Damon about protecting Elena from vampires.

Elijah - Should know better than to start a speech with his hand around his bros heart. If it's still beating, Eli, Klaus is gonna win. Love the difference 'tween Salvatores and them. Damon took the stake out, not putting it in, like he usually is. ;)

BROMANCE.. my ship is alive and well. The end scene was gorgeously them, despite it all - they would fight to the death for each other. <3 Damon ain't gonna die - he's got Stefan, Ric and Bonnie in his corner. Winning team if ever there was one.

  33. My favourite episode ever. The standard of acting on this show is so consistently high. Balled my eyes out when Jenna died. The episode sets up a really intersting finale. Can't wait.
