I loved it. I can't believe that all happened in an hour. I think Chin joined HPD again to protect Steve. It was his only way of making sure that whatever is happening he can investigate and clear Steve. Rachel seemed pretty sure it was Danny's baby. I am ok with that.
The Danny/Rachel subplot was awful. Seriously she couldn't stick around long enough to talk to stan? She and Danny have been cheating long enough to get pregnant? So OOC. Bad way to leave the series.
Steve and Kono!! Oh no!!! I can't wait to see what happens to them. Oh my!
What the Hell, Chin!? I hope he's playing an act and plans to get the others out of this!
The only thing I disliked was Danny/Rachel storyline. No matter how cute they were together, I thought their story just didn't fit in the season finale. At all.
Holy crap, now we wait an entire summer??? Seems like forever to me...
I loved everything but the Danny/Rachel soap opera storyline. Loved the money and the neighborhood watch lady coming back to cause trouble. Awesome ending with the set up by Wo Fat, the Governor's involvement, Steve's impetuousness by barging in and landing him in serious jeopardy and the dual bookings at the end with Steve and Kono. Great foresight by Chin, joining HPD so he can help 5-0 from the inside I can't wait to see what happens.
On the other side, I absolutely abhor the cliche soap opera trope of Rachel's pregnancy. Danny was always the moral compass for H50 and suddenly we find out he has been sleeping with a married woman and long enough for her to become pregnant. That is disgusting and so out of character. She isn't even separated from Stan and is already sleeping with the ex. It doesn't make sense. No birth control? Where is Grace while they are sneaking around. Thank goodness for the kick ass ending or this would have ruined the show for me. My only hope is that Rachel, if she is pregnant, is pregnant by Stan and that is why she wanted to leave so quickly. I hate, hate, hate this storyline. I could watch Desperate Housewives or General Hospital if I wanted this kind of "love in the afternoon."
I want the team and the bromance! Hope that is what the second season will bring.
LOVED it! Well, everything except the Danny/Rachel stuff - I'm just going to be optimistic and hope that next season their story is better. Aside from that, everything else was great, exciting and action packed, and really brought many past story lines full circle. The Kelly Hu stuff wasn't a big surprise to me, but everything else after that was, and the WoFat and governor stuff was great. Can't wait for next season!
I think they needed something to tie up Danny's time & leave him conflicted about taking care of his NEW family vs his OLD family.......so they came up with the PG scenerio. Don't particularly like it myself.....I thought better of Danny and Rachel. Knew that litttle old lady was gonna come back & haunt Kono! SuperSealSteve should have waited & gotten help the the family that HE built....but as usual.....Ninja Steve waits for NOBODY! Wished away my weekenends all season.......guess I better get started wishing away my summer waiting to find out what happened!
White Collar on USA Network is a good show, fun an lighthearted. Plus as an added bonus the two main characters, Peter and Neal, banter and snark in a way that totally reminds me of Steve and Danny.

Everything was great except the whole Danny/Rachel drama. It almost ruined the show for it. This is not a soap so why bring this into it? I can't not wait to see how Steve is gonna get out of this.
Chin has some explaining to do, he better be working from the inside to help Steve out and Kono, seriously even if the lady wasn't sure, she made herself look so guilty that anyone would have picked her out of the lineup.
I was sure the Governor was going to die but I didn't see it coming that she was working for WoFat.
I hope the writers focus more on what really is important and leave the Danny/Rachel drama out of this show or they'll be losing fan support for the show.
I think the Danny/Rachel relationship stuff was good..Danny has always said his family came first..always...and now we've shown through the year how his family circle has expanded to include Steve, Chin and Kono...so his huge conflict comes from having to choose between his family who he followed to Hawaii to be with and his new found family who he's been loyal to and protective of for the last year...this is good stuff...something had to give and it looked like he choose helping Steve and Five-O over his daughter and wife..you know there's repercussions to come from that...
All in all..outstanding..I sort of predicted the big death scene halfway through the episode but still some great twists, great acting from Steve (way to go Alex) on confronting the Governor and getting the answers he's been searching for and setting up new some questions...dammit..I have not idea how thw writers are going to fix it....THIS is good television. the answers he's been searching for and setting up new some questions...dammit..I have not idea how thw writers are going to fix it....THIS is good television.
well for starters....Danno and Rachel's daughter doesn't look like either of them so perhaps having one more is just par for the course. Throwing them into bed is a tired plot device for drama. Then Rachel heads out before she can split from her STAN??? Weak writers.....
WHO called Steve in the Gov's office??? Did they hear everything that happened (auto pickup on the phone) and if they did, were they smart enough to record it??
It was so amazing and full of shocking twists that I never expected. Hawaii Five-0 and its cast had me on the edge of seat. I cannot wait for September 2011 on season 2 to begin.
Agreed. I was shocked that they were sleeping together and more shocked that it had been happening long enough for her to get pregnant. She's an awful person. I forget the story she told about their breakup but what I can remember is that she married a rich guy and took Danno's kid to Hawaii. He uproots his life and moves there to see his child and she makes his life hell. Then he helps out her husband and she starts to be nice to him. Then apparently they start sleeping together behind her husband's back. She wants to 'fess up but can't be bothered to really face the guy so now she's going to take Danno's kid back to Jersey. She's kind of a selfish bitch and I hate her. Keep her in Jersey!
I enjoyed the finale and can't wait for next season. As with many, I hated the Danno storyline. That whole thing came right out of left field and felt forced. Though I will say that people are too quick to slap a Soap Opera sticker on any romantic entaglement. Relationship issues happen on just about every show, it may not be why you watch the show but it's a huge staple in storytelling. Now, if Kono kidnaps the baby and tries to raise it as her own after faking a pregnancy to keep McGarrett from breaking up with her, then we've gone into soap territory. Right now it's just an odd occurence which I hope they rectify.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Were we serious with the "Rachel's pregnant" plot? And are we 100% sure the baby is Danny's and not Stan's?
ReplyDeleteCHIN, WTF IS THE MATTER IS WITH YOU? And then poor Steve and Kono! And holy crap, the deaths.
Not the greatest finale, but can't wait until season two!
I'm sure Chin took the job to help Steve, I can hardly wait for September, it is going to be a lonnnng summer

ReplyDeleteIs it September yet? I want the next episode now.
Can someone tell me what there is to watch over the summer? Pretty much everything I like has either hit, or is about to hit its finale.
ReplyDeleteRepeats or any of the summer shows that are starting to pop up, like The Glades or Leverage.
ReplyDeleteThe Danny/Rachel subplot was awful. Seriously she couldn't stick around long enough to talk to stan? She and Danny have been cheating long enough to get pregnant? So OOC. Bad way to leave the series.
ReplyDeletePhenominal episode! Can't wait for Fall!! Stellar performance from Alex. Especially at the end!!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, everything is happening so fast!!

ReplyDeleteCovert Affairs is also ok - nothig mind blowing but it will while away the summer ... Oh and yeah TRUE BLOOD!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG! I hate cliffhangers! Great job though. I have to see the outcome!

I thought it was Danny calling Steve in the office, because he had been trying to call Steve from his car.
