The Office - Catherine Tate is producers top choice for new boss

Thanks to Bruce_F for the heads up.

What do you think? Would she make a good boss? If not, who would you like to see takeover?

If The Office producers have their way, Catherine Tate will be the new manager of Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch.

The British comedienne, who will appear on the NBC comedy's Thursday finale episode alongside guest stars Jim Carrey, Ray Romano and Will Ferrell, is said to be the top choice of the show's producers, though her ability to take the job is in question due to her current theater commitment.

Tate, who is best known for work on England’s hit series Doctor Who as well as her eponymous U.K. sketch comedy series, is reuniting with her former Who co-star David Tennant as Beatrice in this summer's Much Ado About Nothing in England. The Telegraph recently dubbed it "this summer's hottest theatre ticket."

  1. I doubt she's going to be it. They're not going to let this get out before the finale or season eight premiere.

  7. Lol, I'm not sure if you said that purposely, or if you are legitimately unaware of who she is.

  8.  Ha!  Just got that.

  9. If they could get both her and David Tennant, then they would be a smash for the Office and anything else.

If you haven't seen how good those two would be together get ahold of "Partners In Crime," the first episode of the series four of Doctor Who.

  10. Take this report with a grain of salt, they have Will Ferrell listed for the episode, but he completed his 4 episode guest arc.

  11. She can make anything she say funny.

  12. I honestly have never heard of this woman so I have no idea what to expect with her, if she does end up in the position.

  13. Ah, lol, I thought it was funny because she was on Dr. Who. If you don't watch British Television then you won't have heard of her.

  14. That must be why, I don't really watch British Television.  Did a quick scan of all her work on IMDb but didn't recognize anything.  So I will take your word on it that she's good at what she does and hope for the best.

But if I could pick, I'd pick Jim Carey as the new manager because in my opinion he's the epitome of comedy.  I'm excited to see how it'll all turn out though.

  17. She's in a lot of stuff and is very funny. Probably too funny for The Office though.

  19. Also, she is doing Much Ado About Nothing in England, with David Tennant (who she was with in Doctor Who) I really doubt they will let her out of it.
