The New Girl - FOX Picks Up Comedy Pilot to Series

Fox just opened the series order season with a pickup of early frontrunner The New Girl starring Zooey Deschanel. There had been speculation that the network may order its strongest comedy pilots, New Girl and possibly Family Album and/or I Hate My Teenage Daughter early this week. Picking the shoe-in pilots to series early allows their producers to get the best available writers. Created by Liz Meriwether, The New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel as an unlucky-in-love elementary school teacher who moves away from her former boyfriend and in with three unruly guys. Jake M. Johnson, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr. co-star.

    I planned to be upset by this pick-up because it meant one less spot for Lie To Me, but I love Zooey Deschanel, so I really can't be mad.

    Where is FOX executives' brains located ? In their pants. Zooey Deschanel is hot, the plot is pure crap but who cares, it's fun to say we have both Deschanel sisters on our network, yay.


    Still not over Breaking In, The Chicago Code and Human Target's cancellations. Fuck FOX.

    I guess that's the final nail in the coffin of
    Deschanel's HBO pilot about band groupies...This doesn't sound like the stuff I usually watch, but it has
    Zooey Deschanel, so I might give it a try. Not sure yet.
