Cancelled ShowsLooks like NBC is planning an at least a 2 hour long female comedy block.
NBC just picked up 4 more comedy pilots to series: the Chelsea Handler project Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea , the British adaptation Free Agents , Bent (for midseason) , starring Amanda Peet and untitled Parham/St. Clair project. NBC has picked up in total 5 new dramas and 6 new comedies.
Are You There Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea is a comedy about the lives of a group of twentysomethings living and working together, headed by a very outspoken young woman
Free Agents : is a comedy which explores the attraction between two quirky PR executives who are both on the rebound, one from a divorce and the other from the loss of a fiance
Bent: is a romantic comedy about a recently divorced single mother who tries hard not to fall for the sexy surfer-dude contractor she hires to re-do her kitchen
untitled Parham/St. Clair project:
comedy about a woman who moves back in with her best friend only to find out he's now living with her boyfriend

all those comedies sound alike...have to see it in order to make a difference.
ReplyDeleteyou really can't tell from the descriptions whether they'll be fresh or even funny. Comedies really need to be seen before you can judge them, except for some truly dumb ideas such as #&! my dad says.
