The Mentalist has become really boring and predictable..
We all know that FBI guy is red johns associate for almost half-season, and they have been dragging the same story for 3 years now with almost nothing new.
Agree~ And it seems unlikely we wouldn't have heard anything about Lisbon dying. And even if it were to be kept so well under wraps, they wouldn't give it away like that in the promo.
I wouldn't be so sure if I were you. I suggest you stick around the finale and see. You might be surprised and start watching the series again. It's anything but predictable :)
Robin Tunney has also a 5 year contract so I doubt she'll be gone after this season. It's just to hype up things. And obviously it's working since everyone is freaking out about it.
Oh damn! It's insane for me to wait 6 days after seeing a promo like this! I wonder what happened to Lisbon...Seems she's just unconscious but if he finds her after open the door with the smiley face would be really creepy deja-vĂș (and a nice touch of the writers).
I love this show so much. Yeah, it had its lows this season but it really worths my patience :)
I didn't tell i would stop watching it :) It is good time waster, and fun to watch, but I just wished for some kind of serious back-story.
Also Jane himself has become very stupid since season one. He used to read killer almost instantly, and now for the whole season he just uses cheap "tricks". Seriously, how stupid are these killers?
I think RJ or the mole kidnapped her. Don't think she will dy or be injuried but that the explanation how we will discover RJ's face. I think Jane will save and find her and at that moment he will see who is RJ. Lisbon is just a way to permit RJ to be closer to Jane.
yeah, Jane's ideas were really creative in first season and in some episodes of second season... it's deteriorating as the show continues.. hopefully it will improve next season...
Don't know if you worked it out or not, so, it's Gary Jules' and Michael Andrews' cover version of 'Mad World'. :) Beautiful track, i first heard their cover of it in Donnie Darko.
That would be interesting. If Lisbon is indeed behind that bloodied-smiley door, RJ could have led her there. It would be interesting if both Jane and Lisbon came face to face with Red John.
I doubt that he will kidnap her. Because she would be most likely dead then. It also looks like she's wearing a kevlar so I think someone knocks her down while she searches this place. The Tv Guide article suggests that Jane will meet Red John at a public place so it's most likely that scene when he asks "How do I know you are who you say you are?" I know it's a fantasy of shippers to have that scene where Jane saves Lisbon from Red John but if that ever happens it'll most likely at the show's ending.
This episode will be mostly about Jane and RJ. Maybe Lisbon was led there and held against her will while RJ and Jane met. This way, to keep Jane from doing anything to him during the meeting, could be using this information about Lisbon's whereabouts to keep Jane in place. Like in the Season 1 finale, where Jane shot the man to save Lisbon's life.
I love the Jane & Lisbon dynamic (I won't call them "Jisbon" since I hate that shipper name) as much as you do but people need to be a bit more realistic. They are friends, nothing more and I'm just not sure if Red John will hurt Lisbon to get to Jane at THIS point. Maybe later in the series. I'm in this fandom since the show started and I used to "ship" J/L but some people really make it sore for me with their no nonsense attitude when it comes to "their ship".
I know how some shippers can go to extremes. I for one would hate to see them together right away, as I like the teasing and flirting too much for that.
What I wrote above didn't imply anything 'romantic', just that Jane wouldn't have her killed on purpose. I don't think RJ would hurt Lisbon only to get to Jane. I think he can get to him easily without ever using Lisbon as bait. I just think as a way from keeping Jane from doing anything drastic during their meeting, he uses Lisbon as a 'shield'. There's a big evolution in their trust for one another since season 1, so we can't ignore that they've become close friends over the years.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
the song featured is "Mad World" by Gary Jules.
ReplyDeleteLisbon!?! *My Jisbon heart boom-booms*
ReplyDeleteOh God, how will I survive until next Thursday?!?
I've watched the preview 1587 times and counting xD

ReplyDeleteWhat's crazy is to wait 6 days to see this episode!! :O

I think this promo replaced the air I breathe O_O
Agree~ And it seems unlikely we wouldn't have heard anything about Lisbon dying. And even if it were to be kept so well under wraps, they wouldn't give it away like that in the promo.
ReplyDeleteits probably her Jane is telling "red john killed my wife and child"
ReplyDeleteI am almost certain that it's not...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought the same. The hair gave it away.
ReplyDeleteNo that's a scene from the season 2 finale when he talks to Kristina Frye.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be so sure if I were you. I suggest you stick around the finale and see. You might be surprised and start watching the series again. It's anything but predictable :)
ReplyDeleteyeah, i watched it a few times too... but mainly to figure out which was the song that was playing in the background...
ReplyDeleteyeah... you're probably right...
ReplyDeleteRobin Tunney has also a 5 year contract so I doubt she'll be gone after this season. It's just to hype up things. And obviously it's working since everyone is freaking out about it.
ReplyDeleteI think the first time I heard it was in an episode of Without a Trace, but I'm not sure. Such a long time ago :/

err, remind me, what happened to Kristina? I thought she was fine at the end?
ReplyDeleteIf you call being in a cataconic state and thinking you're dead sounds "fine" to you....
