Prodigy Pictures and Shaw Media Announce Start of Production on Season 2 of Supernatural Canadian Drama Series, Lost Girl

Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media, announced today that the supernatural Canadian drama, Lost Girl, has started production on Season Two this week in Toronto. Thirteen one-hour episodes will be filmed at a west end Toronto soundstage and on location in and around the city until September 22. Season two is expected to premiere on Showcase this fall.

Anna Silk (Being Erica, Billable Hours) reprises her role as “Bo”, the tough yet loveable Succubus who survives by feeding off sexual energy. Kris Holden-Ried (Ben Hur, The Tudors, Underworld 4) returns as “Dyson”, the shape-shifting Fae, homicide detective, and Bo’s love interest. Other popular returning cast members include Bo’s human confidante and street-smart survivor, “Kenzi” (Ksenia Solo: Life Unexpected; Black Swan); “Lauren” (Zoie Palmer: The Guard, Instant Star, XIII), a human doctor who competes for Bo’s heart; “Trick” (Rick Howland: Billable Hours, Murdoch Mysteries), the mysterious owner and bartender at The Dal Riata tavern, with a secretive past that is yet to be unlocked; “Hale” (K.C. Collins: Owning Mahowny, Doomstown), a handsome male “Siren” who is the eternal bachelor, ultimate wingman and Dyson’s partner on the force.

Joining the Lost Girl cast this season is Vincent Walsh (Republic of Doyle, Saving Private Ryan) in a recurring role. Notable guest stars include Emmanuelle Vaugier (Two and a Half Men, Covert Affairs, Human Target) who returns as “The Morrigan”, the leader of the Dark Fae and Conrad Coates (Covert Affairs, Tron) who guest stars in episode two.

Season one introduced viewers to Bo, a drifter who learns she is a succubus, a creature from the world of Fae, who live among humans. Bo refuses to choose an allegiance to either the Dark or Light Fae clans. Her independence proves problematic for both sides, threatening to topple an age-old system, as she embarks on a personal mission to unlock the secrets of her origin.

Season two will challenge Bo’s resolve to stay free and force her to question her own morals and beliefs. While Bo grows stronger and learns more about who she really is, relationships will be tested and passions will ignite, but answers will not come easily. Through it all, Bo will remain true to herself and loyal to those she trusts as she continues to forge a path of her own in a dangerous world.

Lost Girl was developed by Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media and Showcase. Executive Producers are Jay Firestone, Plato Fountidakis, and Paul Rapovski. Co-Executive Producers are Michelle Lovretta, Jeremy Boxen and Brad Markowitz. Vanessa Piazza is Associate Producer and Wanda Chaffey is Producer.

Lost Girl premiered on Showcase in September 2010 with record-breaking audience numbers and continued to draw viewers in each week. During its run in Fall 2010, the series ranked number one on the channel for adults 25-54 and was the top scripted series across all specialty channels.

  1. More Emmanuelle Vaugier is always a good thing.  I'm hoping that she'll eventually be a regular.

  2. yeah im surprised she was only in 2 episodes of season 1, interesting that The Ash is not mentioned in the press release, has he been replaced or killed?

  3.  That's a good question.  I hope he wasn't replaced.  I thought he did a good job.

  4.  I was wondering the same. I think he didn't survive. That would be interesting.. who will be the new ASH then? I doubt it will be Vincent Walsh... but who knows?

I hope we will get more to see of Zoie Palmer and in that case more of Doccubus. I'm still waiting for the well-declared triangle. Always wanted to see a nice well-balanced triangle.
