French TV network M6 has bought the Canadian police drama King, which airs here on Showcase (Sundays at 9 p.m.). The show stars Amy Price-Francis (The Cleaner, 24) as Jessica King, the head of Toronto's major crimes task force. "Jessica King is a unique character in the television landscape. She’s a creative thinker who not only celebrates her femininity, she uses it as a disarming investigative tool," said Greg Spottiswood, co-creator of the series, in a news release. "We’re delighted that King translates so well.” M6 is described as the third most-watched TV network in the French-speaking world. The series has also been licensed to the Astral specialty channel Séries+.
