I haven't watched in two years and even I'm shocked by this!
ReplyDeleteWow, so shocked. This really is a sad day for House.
ReplyDeleteMust be some joke or some red herringMust be some joke or some red herring
ReplyDeleteOMG!!
ReplyDeleteshrugs. I guess Huddy isn't happening after all. My sympathies shippers.
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOO!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope she at least returns for an episode or 2 to be written out properly.
If this is true HOUSE really ends with the 8th season.
ReplyDeleteYep, and that's good.
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated.<3 Haha, this sadens me!!! =[ =[
ReplyDeleteSeriously? And you put no SPOILER on it?
ReplyDeleteI don't blame her.
ReplyDeleteGood riddance. I was never as big fan of her character and the Huddy crap made it even worse.
ReplyDeleteThis is by far the biggest shocker of this upfront season! (Second to "Chuck" surviving the axe once more, I guess...)
ReplyDeleteFinding it hard to understand why she isn't coming back for one last go-around. Not even at a reduced workload? All I can say is, didn't see that one coming!
On SPOILERTV.COM? Kinda logical that most things posted will be, you know, SPOILERS.
ReplyDeleteBut I consider it as a BIG spoiler
ReplyDeleteWell the site that broke the news TV Line did not post it as a
ReplyDeletespoiler, so neither will we I'm afraid.
Less Wilson, No more Cuddy... So what are we going to get ? More screen time for Taub's sex life ? Congrats, you're killing your show.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree it's rather odd. BUT given it's very likely to be the final season, I don't suppose there's any length they didn't go to to try and keep Lisa. I guess she was really eager to get out.
ReplyDeleteI don't feel as passionate about this show as I once did but I'm still so shocked and a little upset by this. I know so many fans who absolutely adore her.
ReplyDelete....And I'm officially out.
ReplyDeleteIt ends with season 8 because Hugh Laurie already said weeks ago that he won't sign for another season. No LE needed for that. I'll gladly tune in again, can't stand Cuddy anyway :D
ReplyDeleteLisa Cuddy is important for this show. I love her character... :'(
ReplyDeleteI thought this was a joke. Damn! I was hoping for a happy ending for Huddy.
ReplyDeleteWhat!?Noo!!...it have to be joke!
ReplyDeleteIf this is a joke its a really bad one. Its all about Cuddy too even if its named House. I mean what the hell? She's been the reason why I watched and watch the show for years now because of the way she interferes with House. If she leaves it's a reason for me to stop watching it. Reminds me a lot of David Duchovny leaving the X-Files ... the show was shit after William was born.
ReplyDeleteNice reference. I'm totally with you about X-Files sucking after DD bounced. Season 8 is going to be badddd.
ReplyDeleteHardly, X-Files was entirely about a partnership. They worked together in every episode until Duchovny left. Even if you love Cuddy, House is still all about House. Cuddy isn't even close to being in every episode and when she is it's often for only a scene or two.
ReplyDeleteSo "House" won't end with happy end. Probably he will die in the final episode. Maybe OD.. ;]
ReplyDelete:(
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell. I hope this wasn't really about money. What a waste of 7 years to not be able to end the show on a high.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of excited. House will be upset. His world will be shook up. He'll have to try to deal with someone else in charge. It might be pretty interesting to not have Cuddy around to protect his job. I just hope they knew this before the finale so her departure is written into the show and not just thrown into the beginning of next season through exposition. From the promos, it looks like that might be the case.
ReplyDeleteThis surpasses shippers' dreams, IMO. This is a sad day for the show. Unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteDon't care if House and Cuddy are together, but with RSL aka (Wilson) not going to be around as much and now NO Cuddy they've basically gutted the show. It was a stool with three legs and now we're down to one and a half. I was sticking through this season to see if it got better, apparently it doesn't matter anymore. Without the three main characters the show is shot. I will be saying good-bye to my favorite tv show on May 23, 2011. Well done. That is all.
ReplyDeleteThey just killed the show. Cuddy is the heart while House is the brain. Season 8 is over before it begins. What a loss to what was once the best show on television!
ReplyDeleteWow so that leaves:
ReplyDeleteDepressed, whiny 13
Devoid of emotion Foreman
No one I do is enough Taub
There's no way anything good will EVER happen in his life House
Let's pick up the pieces Wilson
and... Chase
Guess I'm out too...
Bad :( I hope House will be happy, but now... Maybe House will die in last EP 8 season's ((((
ReplyDeleteNeed an option for..." I quit watching because of her, if she is gone I may come back" because of her, if she is gone I may come back"
ReplyDeleteSeason 8 will most likely be the last season and hopefully the writers and executive producers will plan it that way. Yes, I'll watch.
ReplyDeleteOuch but truth tbh..
ReplyDeleteYAY !!!! :D:D:D
ReplyDeleteidiot writers and universal bosses...they just kill the show...I am not gonna watch the season 8.
ReplyDeleteReally bad news. Couldn't believe that. I've been on Twitter. Lisa sent a pix today. Fans support her. I really need her by House side. Can't imagine season 8 without her.
ReplyDeletenooooooooo, so terrible news!
ReplyDeleteWow. I am in shock. I mean, even those who didn't love Cuddy have to admit that she was and is a crucial part of the show. The dynamic between her and House, even before they were in a relationship, is one of the core elements of the show. Without Cuddy, there is no House.
ReplyDeleteLike Wilson said, House NEEDS Cuddy in his life, even if they're not sleeping together. So what now? Cuddy leaves, and House spirals into a deeper depression? How much more depressed can he get?
I'm so sad to know now that my favorite show is just going to complete its run with most of its viewers gone and one of its core elements destroyed. I guess this means that next season will be Taub knocking up more chicks, Chase and Thirteen finally doing it, and oh yeah, House's Green Card wife, Dominika! What a stellar season to look forward to!
Luckily for me, I'm checking out along with all of you guys. Next week's episode will be my last.
OMG, this is horrible... :( I'll probably still watch because of Olivia Wilde, but that's the only reason. Cuddy was one of my favorite characters...
ReplyDeleteHmm. Not a reaction I was expecting to see...
ReplyDeleteChi McBride is available I think...
ReplyDeletebring him back as Volger. I liked House sparring with him.
You quit watching because of Lisa Edelstein? She hardly gets any screen time anymore. Not since "Huddy" ended.
ReplyDeleteReally? The Vogler and Tritter episodes were my least favorite of the entire series.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to hear what hugh has to say about all this
ReplyDeleteI've never really liked Cuddy and that feeling grew when they retconned the show just to put House and Cuddy together. She was perfect in small doses (strictly as House's boss) and the show would have been better if it had stayed that way. Hugh and Lisa had no romantic chemistry and it was awful watching them force it. I can't say I'm sad to see her go. I guess now the Huddies are getting a taste of what the Jennifer Morrison fans went through. Doesn't feel good, does it?
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe it, they probably asked her to take a pay cut and she told them where to go. The show will definitely never be the same. Here's hoping for an ER ending when Julia M reunited with George Clooney in her final episode. We can only hope!!! I don't think I will continue to watch.
ReplyDeleteHe's probably relieved the poor man. He always looked so uncomfortable around her. I'm not trying to be catty or mean. That is just the impression I always got watching them interact.
ReplyDeleteI am a Chi McBride fan so While they may have been terrible to many (or most) people, the ywere good to me... Not the best by any stretch. It was more a thought of helping a FOX cancellation victim out by having him walk across the lot to an old role than anything else. Still bitter Human Target was cancelled maybe....
ReplyDeleteTritter I never cared for I guess. Never liked Morse as an actor... not sure why
She was the reason I quit the show during season 7 then... yes, I will watch season 8.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big Chi McBride fan myself from way back in the John Larroquette Show / Boston Public days and Emerson Cod is one of my all-time favorite TV characters. Unfortunately, the fact that the House writers made Vogler a one-dimensional, hand-wringing, evil villain upset me and I never could accept his character.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree about House being the brain and Cuddy the heart. After Cameron left we were only left with Cuddy as a representation of emotions from the female side. There was a breath of fresh air when Masters was around but that lasted too little. Now there will be no Cameron, no Masters, and no Cuddy only "my life sucks, I care about nothing, everything is awful" 13. Thank God Wilson will still be around. As for the rest it'll be a very gloomy show I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteNo Way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe role didn't play to Chi's strengths or versatility... no doubt about that.
ReplyDeleteHE was teh janitor on The John Laroquette Show right? Hahah! I forgot about that. Wisdom from a grey (blue?) workman jumpsuit....
I will never understand his wrinkled skull flesh, but I do like watching Mr. McBride!
She wasn't the only reason I watched, but I chose "No" anyway.
ReplyDeleteEverything about this whole plot-line was handled in the wrong way. It happened too late, in the wrong way, with then wrong attitude, ended the wrong way and... really, I just have no interest in this show anymore. I wasn't even sad that one of my favorite actresses was leaving what was one of my favorite shows.
Wow it's like we've watched two different shows and actors interact!! I have to completely and respectfully disagree.
ReplyDeleteHave to agree. I thought it felt very forced with Cuddy. I didn't like him with Cameron much either, but at least they had chemistry.
ReplyDeleteI stopped watching when House and Cuddy got together at the end of last season. If this means no more Huddy, I will be back on, full-time. :)
ReplyDeleteWow I am so...so....so....not giving a damn about whether a particular character is here or not..as long as Wilson and House stay. Come on, this is Watson and Holmes! Its the only thing that matters
ReplyDeleteWhy exactly? Just because Cuddy is gone? A bit narrow-minded, don't you thing? He's better off without her anyway.
ReplyDeleteI won't miss Cuddy at all. Good luck for her future to LE though.
ReplyDeleteI agree. He probably doesn't mind.
ReplyDeleteNot really. I mean, not anymore. Wilson was important in the first few seasons and did some good stuff in the first half of Season 6, but recently he has been like a ghost. Foreman and Taub are more prominent than him right now.
ReplyDeleteThe reactions here are surprising to me. Almost everyone I know is in the "Who cares?" category. She's always been tangential to the main plot and almost always breaks the flow of the episodes she is in.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little surprised by the amount of response too. How can someone watch a show purely for a character that's not in every episode or typically only a couple scenes? My guess is the "who cares" people aren't as passionate about the news, so not as many are posting.
ReplyDeleteSo sad to hear this. I've been watching the show on and off and it's been Lisa who's kept me coming back. Guess I don't have to any longer...
ReplyDeleteOf course i won´t watch. What for? Hookers and idiotic wifes? Oh yes and 13. No fucking way
ReplyDeletethe show is about Greg House, so there is no problem for me, but I will miss Lisa Edelstein. I'm not worried, I still hav the dvds LOL
ReplyDeleteNo, she really wanted to come back. I don´t understand :(.
ReplyDeletegood riddance, coming way too late though.
ReplyDeleteNo more house for me - I will miss her and the show, but after watching the last third of this season she is better off on a different project
ReplyDeleteVery sad. I will still watch because I have been devoted since season 1 and will ride it out til the end. I just hope they don't decide to show her departure in the beginning of season 8 by saying something like "Cuddy got hit by a bus" and thats the end of her. I still don't understand why. She's always said that she will be with the show as long as they will have her, and now she randomly decided to quit? I don't know about that.
ReplyDeletethis sucks the core of the show is House, Wilson and Cuddy. Wilson and Cuddy were Houses' balance they were like a well oiled machine. This is a major blow to the series.
ReplyDeleteWhaaaaaaaaaat?!
ReplyDeletelisa wasn't the reason i started watching, but she's the reason i've stopped. they ruined her character, destroyed her character's relationship with house (starting in season 6, when they retconned it to pieces), and then asked the actress to take a pay/episode cut? nuh-uh. i fully support her decision to leave. and i will be leaving right along with her.
ReplyDeleteShe left because of money, not creative differences. She said she wanted to do season 8 until they cut her pay.
ReplyDeleteNo way !!!!! What's the fuck ? They signed the end of the show !
ReplyDeleteThe way the poll choices are phrased isn't exactly ideal to be honest -- as with so many other people, she's not the *only* reason I watch, but I also definetely won't watch without her.
ReplyDeleteSeriously that's a load of crap. I'm sorry about my language but I can't stand people like her. There is no reason why she is leaving the show except because of the money. Even with the salary cut she will still earn a lot of cash. And besides she played what was probably her most important part in the show this year so it's normal that her salary is going to be smaller. Also she doesn't have any real offers at the moment so a smaller payment beats being unemployed.
ReplyDeleteWhat she is trying to do is to turn her fans(if she has many) against the network so that FOX will renegotiate her contract. The fact that FOX hasn't announced this officially means that they are thinking about it. Give it a week or two and she will be back or the network will finally confirm that she is leaving for good.
I'm sorry about Cuddy fans. I'm not trying to be unsympathetic about the cause. It's just the fact that this comes after the news of her reduction in salary. I hope the writers will do a great job in overcoming this inconvenience.
Very cleverly put the question. The only reason ... Do not be ashamed spoilertv? But I still vote for Lisa! I don't likes [H]ouse anymore. All this is so disgusting...
ReplyDeleteLet's suppose you work for a company and they are doing money cuts.
ReplyDeleteAll you co worker got to have the same pay check but, when your job is as important as their, no matter if spend more or less of your time.
Would you be ok with that?
Its not about the amount of money she earn or if she has or not better offers. Its about Work ethics!
We all deal with it at our jobs, all the time!
And what the network did is not right, HL and RSL got the same paycheck as before!
Why cut off LE's only?
Let's suppose you work for a company and they are doing money cuts.

That's true, but I can't stand hypocrisy. If you really have a problem with the money then say it out loudly and don't try to stir the fans against the producers of the show. Also as I've said she played probably the most important part in this season because of the Huddy relationship. I see the cut in salary perfectly justifiable since her screen time is going to decrease in the next season as it has been with the ending of this one.
ReplyDeleteHa. How did you want the poll to phrase the YES question? "YES, the show will suck without her but I will still watch?" Because that would not be biased at all. And if you won't watch without her it is because she IS the only reason you watch, lol.
ReplyDeleteI liked this comment because it's just too hysterical. Only important in the "first few seasons". Good one (you almost got me there). I'll go ahead and keep up with your sarcasm by highlighting just how important and ESSENTIAL was Cuddy in those first few seasons, too. *Up high!*
ReplyDeleteJudging by the way the actors interact during interviews, I'm guessing Robert Sean Leonard would be more bothered by that than Hugh.
ReplyDeleteI was not talking about the 'Yes' answer, I think that is formulated just fine. I was talking about the first option. That should have been phrased something like "No, the show's just not nearly as interesting without her." Would have been a more accurate description of how a lot of people feel.
ReplyDeleteShe's not the only reason I watch, but to me the dynamics and relationships between House & Cuddy and House & Wilson are crucial to the show. THOSE are the main reasons I watch. House is not an island, a lot of interesting stuff (MOST of it) comes from his interaction with other people, and particularly that with his two closest friends. And both Cuddy and Wilson have become so entwined with House and he with them that there's just no way the show can work without either of them. They're both too much a part of his story. The show is about House, but it/he heavily leans on the two most important side characters. I'm gonna do what a lot of people have done and compare it to a three-legged stool -- with one leg chopped off, the stool is completely out of balance and just won't function anymore. As interesting as House himself is (though I think he's become somewhat of a caricature this season), both Cuddy and Wilson are needed for balance and to keep things interesting.
The POLL options are wrong and you did it on purpose to create a WAR between fans, Huddy and non-Huddy ones, and that's pretty low and chauvinistic of you!
ReplyDeleteShe is not the only reason I watch cuz I watch the show for ITS stories in which all characters fit in perfectly and blend to give us a masterpiece. And that's why I have been watching the show for the last 7 seasons. Now that they have sacked someone who has been an integral part of that story (from DAY ONE) I am not sure it makes any sense to me anymore. I would have the same reaction if they had sacked RSL. It doesn't matter who I ship or even if I am a shipper at all, what matters is the show and the stories told which will (and have been for S6&7) missing the bubbly, dynamic, provocative banter Lisa Edelstein brought to it.
Wonderful news. The show was better when she had 30 minutes of screen time per season.
ReplyDeleteThe show is about House. The huddy ruined the ratings!!!

This is a huge blow to the show, since Cuddy was the only real formidable female in the show's history. In the end though, the show is about House. As long as Hugh Laurie is playing that character, the show will still be great.
ReplyDeleteI will miss Cuddy though, she made for some interesting interactions with House over the years.
I agree. Even if this is the last season, she should still be back.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch or not watch based on any one character. I judge shows by the whole package. If I ever stop watching it'll be because of many factors. I didn't stop watching scrubs when Zack Braff left, same thing applies here. but to a lesser extent. I mean its not like Hue is leaving.
ReplyDelete
