I hate what they've done to House and Cuddy. I especially hate what they've done to Cuddy's character. It's like she can't stand him at all or like she was the one dumped. Even after all the crappy, humiliating things House did to her during all these years she always was compassionate towards him. Now SHE dumps HIM because he wasn't the "perfect bf" and she is the one avoiding him and talking to him and treating him like crap. I'm very disappointed in the writers as to how they've handled Cuddy after the breakup. I think they've done an ok job with House, not so much with Cuddy.
I agree. It's totally against her character to 'kick the puppy when it's down' so to speak. House is obviously having a hard time with the break-up, and she seems to be harboring nothing but hatred towards him, and I really can't figure out why.
I couldn't agree with you more, that's exactly how I've been feeling. I'm not sure what exactly the showrunners are trying to achieve. Because for now I think that she is hugely loosing fan support or sympathy. And it's sad, she used to be such a likeable character back in seasons 1-5
I strongly agree with all of you guys. They are making no sense with where they're taking their relationship. Especially where Cuddy's concerned. I loved the last night's episode, but this just seems ridiculous. Feels like we're made to think that Huddy is the worst thing on this planet and that will never ever work again.
I guess you can never anticipate the behaviour of a drug addict. Maybe this is where they introduce or set the foundation regarding his abusive past. I couldn't agree with you more with regards to Cuddy. Nothing like destroying her character. I still have yet to figure out why she is so angry, it does look like she hates him. They should have waited until after House tries to blow up her house to feel this way.
Yeah, what with the way she just called 911 instead of staying up all night with her 3 year old to help him after he recklessly tore up his own leg... oh wait. I don't know what causes the issues in the promo, although I have my theories, but up to this point Cuddy has not been treating House like crap, at least no more than general irritation and their usual tit for tat. He hasn't exactly been a saint to her about this either. I think the only cruel thing she did was to give him hope in the first place. She obviously still cares about him and the breakup clearly wasn't easy for her, but they both knew and said from the start it wouldn't work. He's too reckless, unreliable, and just generally damaged for Cuddy to be able to trust and rely on him for anything.
I know! I can't figure out why she's so angry at him. He didn't live up to her expectations, fine... she already dumped him so why all the bitterness? At first I thought they were going for the "she's still very much in love with him so she can't be around him and she's putting this front to help her deal" idea, BUT I only get the "she's bitter and angry and treating him like crap" vibe. She really IS kicking him while he's down and that's not Cuddy. I really don't understand were they want to take them with all this Cuddy attitude. The one that's supposed to be giving all the attitude is House and he actually seems more in love with her than ever.
I wish, really wish, her irritation would be the usual irritation. It isn't. Yes she was there, yes she helped him, but what I don't get is why she is so angry with him. Maybe it was the way LE acted the part, but I never saw compassion in her face, or eyes, just anger. The anger is what I don't get. I got the guilt, sadness, hurt that she portrayed right after the breakup, now she's just bitter.
The way I see it, there's a lot of emotions going on in Cuddy. She cares about him, hates that he does stupid things like this, she's tired physically and emotionally, probably feels guilty since chances are he wouldn't have become obsessed with his leg if she didn't dump him, which she deflected as him just being generally unhappy. Maybe LE's performance showed more anger than compassion (there's a lot of room for interpretation here, I saw compassion a few times), although if you couple that with her actions which started with reluctance, but always ended with support, I think there's a much broader, more complex, picture. There was nothing keeping her there except for her concern for House. She was even there when he was out after the surgery, although it's interesting that she left before he woke up.
It's hard to imagine what will happen. I hope there's a part of dream in it. I had the feeling the episode 7x22 ended well. Rachel wants Greg back and Lisa wrote the message : "I hope your leg feels better and I hope we can be friends again soon, you bloody scaly wag".
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
This is so sad. House wouldn't push Cuddy :'(
