  1. "The car was aimed at the house, not at the individuals inside." That does make me feel better, although I know few will agree. I wanted confirmation that even though House did something incredibly dangerous, irrational, thoughtless, and stupid, his ultimate intent was not murder. It's like his leg self-surgery or any of the other things he's done to himself that nearly got him killed. They were bad, very misguided decisions that could have killed him, but his focus was not suicidal. That I can deal with.

  2. “The car aimed at the house, not at the individuals inside”...
If that’s what they wanted to show, they did it badly. We all watched (House included) four people in the dinnig room, they still bringing things to the table... And the next scene was this crazy man crashing his car in that dinnig room. On purpose.
That’s murder attempt. House was always House, but now they converted him in a murder!
I don’t know, but probably it’s over for me. House wasn’t only House, House was House, Cuddy and Wilson. I think I’m not interested in the story without one of the trio.
So... Next season could change the series title. What about House en el Caribe, chico?

  3. Well, they were removing things from the table, but generally I agree, they should have made it clearer that House saw they were leaving the room if that's what they wanted people to think. My guess is they wanted the controversy, so they intentionally made it look really bad but still wanted some room for doubt.

  4. I saw nothing but a murder attempt.
When you want to show a man destroying a house, you do it. It's simple.
James and Greg arrive. He rings the bell many times. Nobody answers. Greg can't give the hairbrush back because the house is empty. Then Greg enter in the house with his car to let the hairbrush on a table (in the kitchen, in the bathroom, maybe the bedroom...). No doubt Lisa will have known who destroyed her house. See ? That's simple.

  5. Could someone enlighten me why was Cuddy so monumental that you won't watch now that she's gone. In my opinion she only was a dead weight. Best seasons, and best episodes don't feature her, but the medical mystery, she being in the background. Remember 'DNR', 'Three Stories', 'All In', 'Failure to Communicate', to name a few. Was she essential in those? Not by a long shot.
Also, please enlighten me why does it matter if he wanted to smash them with his car. Maybe he did in that moment. Maybe he didn't care, he just wanted to do this. In any case, I would want them to write good stories next season.

  6. The finale sucked. That's a reality. But people, don't start on a morality arguments about House being a ""murderer"" as a so much worse thing than House being himself. Because basically you are drawing a line where House can do pretty much anything, including screwing up with this peers and everyone around him, but it's all OK as long as he doesn't kill anyone? Come on.

  7. You really wouldn't think any worse of someone that tried to kill you compared to someone that only screwed you over? No one said his actions before were ok.

  8. House couldn't possibly have known who was in that room, since it didn't matter where Cuddy and guests were at the time he approached the house.  He stepped back into the car, kicked Wilson out, drove down the street, turned back and drove into the house.  They could have been in the front yard for all he knew and Rachel could have been in that very room.  This episode was absolutely ridiculous and I think the writers have lost their minds and lost perspective of this character.  They have opened a can of worms that cannot be recovered in one year.  I hope they plan to continue further.  How does anyone forgive utter stupidity.

I can't speak for everyone, but Cuddy is important to the show because she's the only person who stands up to House and pushes him to be better. Wilson tries to stand up to him, but always ends up enabling him. House needs both of them. And the way the three of them play mindgames and gang up on each other is fun, like a mini outwit/outplay/outlast every episode. This dynamic is the heart of the show. So just as Wilson is indispensable, so is Cuddy.

Again, can't speak for everyone, but the problem I have with him smashing a car into Cuddy's house is that it's not cool for anyone involved, audience included. What made me love House is that no matter what he did, there was an integrity to his actions. He's always done things outside of the social norm, but always inside his own code of rationality. It's enjoyable to watch him do something insane for the good of someone's health or to defend himself from the world's morons. At the end of this episode he just behaved like a psychopath. It's not fun anymore.

  10. I think House was incredibly careful in choosing to crash the car.  Not the decision to crash itself, but the damage he would cause.  He knew that with a bunch of grown ups in the house, the toddler would be either at a babysitter or in her room.  He saw everyone leaving the table -- he must know that there's a living room somewhere else where everyone was headed.  It was still a gamble, but a calculated one.

He also had a plan to leave the country apparently. Maybe he's just in Florida, but it makes more sense to leave the country all together after something like that.  Perhaps he intends to stay there indefinitely.

Often the boldest moves are the moves that revitalize tv shows. People really hate them at first, but as things unfold, they come around to it.

  11. Shore has taken House from a brilliant doctor to a dumb criminal. Sad day for all involved.

  12. That scene was really poor directing. I believe anyone assumed the four were still at the table. To me it looked like attempted murder, no matter what Shore says. Sloppy and out of character, like the rest of the season.

  13. I wish Mr. Shore good luck for next season. He's got many issues to solve.
    1) During 7 seasons it was hard to make twice the same scar on Greg's leg. Now there are two.
    2) Hugh Laurie often insisted on the fact Greg was a lovable character because people wanted to cure him. Now, half people writting on this board are afraid of loving a psychopath.
    3) If Greg can't accept that other people can be happy around him, he'd better stay in jail.
    4) It will be hard to start writting not knowing if Lisa is back. It's the same for Olivia Wilde who signed, but may not be available all the season. Jesse Spencer is about to sign.
    4) What about the medical drama ? If Greg is in jail, the ratings will rapidely decrease if Eric, Robert, Chris or 13 are the only one in charge. And Cameron can't come back.
    Good luck Mr. Shore.

  14. Cuddy is the only character so far that has been able to sew any moral fiber into House.  He truly tried to bring out his human qualities  in order to obtain love and happiness.  The good  in House lies so deep, that it rarely if ever came to the surface.  It was Cuddy that allowed all of us to see that the potential was there.  The finale demonstrated the character that House could have been.  The patient was a direct mirror image of House who chose love before career, choose happiness before destruction.  House on the other hand chose destruction of himself and Cuddy's happy home.
