Check out my thoughts on tonight's Hawaii Five-O season finale here. What do you want to see in a (likely but not explicitly confirmed) second season?

  1. While I don't completely disagree about the governor being corrupt, I don't think this episode was bad at all. First of all for a season finale it was perfect in some aspects. Two people died one minor character (Hills) and one semi-major character (the governor). The plot while could have been written better was not very far fetched other than the governor storyline. The plot made sense when you look at the season as a whole. The Five-O task force broke the rules pretty much any time they had to. To not punish them for that would be unbelievable in a strictly good vs bad storyline kind of way. I mean stealing $10 million dollars and then having Hess burn the money, only to find it a couple of eps later without an explanation where the money came from. That was very unbelievable to me but even more unbelievable is how much this reviewer completely undervalued the episode. Yes it was not the best episode of the season but it also was not one of the worst either. I loved this season finale. It will be fun to see how Danny and maybe Chin can get McGarret and Kono out of trouble. I can't wait four months to find out what happens. Nooooooooooo I like this show a lot and am looking forward to it's return in the fall

  3.  I loved it.  It was fast paced and action packed.  I thought the story made sense.  I know that Chin is working with HPD, only to help clear Steve.  I loved that Danny was there saying to Steve I am going to get  you out of this.  As far as Rachel and Danny go, it all started when he went to her after his brother left, so it had been going on for a while now, even if it hadn't been on screen.  I was surprised to killed off two characters, I wasn't surprised about the one, but I was surprised about the governor.

  4. Wow, I disagree, I loved it, and don't see how it was all that different from the rest of the series - a little darker and more intense, sure, but it was the big season finale!  I thought it was really fast paced and tense, and full of surprises (I try to avoid all spoilers and most speculation).
I will really miss Jean Smart, but I think she got another show? and I was not suspecting her at all, so I was pretty shocked she turned out to be who she was.  JS was great in that scene with AOL.  I figured Kelly Hu (who we've seen at least twice before, not just once) would go, but wasn't expecting the governor to go also.
Loved Chin and Danny's tense confrontation as Chin was arresting Steve.  I do have a guess as to why Chin so quickly rejoined the force though.  Kono getting busted was pretty surprising too, and I liked the end with her and Steve sharing that look.
The only thing I really didn't care for was the Danny and Rachel plot.  I was one of the ones hoping his "a little while" was more of an emotional thing rather than physical cheating, and to think of them messing around behind Stan's back is very disappointing.  The pregnancy thing seems like a soap opera-ish twist too, and I now really dislike Rachel.  She cheated on Stan (who seemed to be an OK guy), is uprooting Grace yet again and with no warning, and is probably going to end up hurting Danny again because their original problems are still the same.  I like flawed characters, but it's disappointing to see Danny, the moral compass of the team, lose his way like that.
Really looking forward to next season to see how they try to put things back together.

  5. First I really loved the finale, I really did not think the Governor was so corrupt, something changed though when she was with Hiro, for lunch, why is she with him, but I did not make anything of it. I kind of felt sorry for Steve, how much can he take before he has a break down.As for Danny/Rachel I wouldn't have gone there, they should have waited a while, plus at the beginning of the season they really hated each other. At least none of the main characters were killed.

  6. Well the money was never put back, it was the Governor sceaming, ,with Wofat, something up. So this would happen to them at the finale. After we found out the Governor was in it with Wofat. Lot of things from some episodes started making sense, like when the governor was having lunch with Hiro (I thought to myself she was dirty, but after the conversation with steve I made nothing out of it.The finale was good.

  7. I know the Rachel/Danny thing happened too quickly for me too.  Oh well.

I just want to hug Steve.

  8. Well remember when Chin left after the police showed up to arrest Steve.  He said he was going to do something about this.  I think that meant going to HPD and taking his badge back, so that he could be on the inside to help Steve.  He arrested him, so that he could protect him.

  9. I'm with you there,Judy, I'm sure that Chin going back to HPD is to help Steve, being on the inside he knows what is happening. You know something Judy now that Steve is going to Jail he has to confront Victor Hesse, I"m sure they are going that way.I canhardly wait now to see what's going to happen. It is good that Hawaii 5.0 has been renewed, plus another of my shows has been renewed Nycsi yes 2 of my shows are back. Of course HF0 being the first.

  10. I agree, and that's exactly what my guess as to why he rejoined was.  He can't do anything sitting around watching IA investigate them, but from the inside can steer the investigation to help Steve and Kono.  I think Danny will soon learn this, but it was good drama to have him and Chin sort of face off a bit in front of the rest of HPD.

  11.  I agree, I thought it would take a few seasons for them to reunite.  Not happy with how it happened, but will be patient to see how it's handled.  I have a growing suspicion that maybe Rachel isn't being 100% honest with Danny.  We'll see!

  12. It also helps establish that it looks like Chin has betrayed them, if Danny doesn't know what is going on.
