Hawaii Five-0: Masi Oka promoted to series regular

Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that Masi Oka — who joined H5-0 as the socially awkward coroner in October on a recurring basis — will be returning next season as a full-fledged series regular.

This marks Oka’s first full-time series gig since Heroes was put out to pasture by NBC in 2010.

The Eye network has yet to formally renew Five-0 for a second season, but a pickup is seen as a foregone conclusion.

    I'm actually a bit surprised by this.  I'm also indifferent.  Good for Masi Oka though.  He gets to live in Hawaii for 9 months a year and CBS doesn't have to repeatedly pay his airfare for his recurring appearances.
