    yeah pretty much chair centric with a less then 2 mins of them :D and pretty much 5 minutes in total for the second half of the season...ooooo and who was on the screen when CB wasn't....yeah you know but you can not say...GG pretty much lost his real fanbase for the known reason don't try to blame CB...

    I loved how "Chair" centric the promo was too. It looked like Blair was running away from Chuck, and Chuck was being dragged to the loonie bin. As Dennis

    I totally disagree. For me, the only reason GG still exists is because of Blair and Chuck. Not necessarily as a couple, but because of the characters themselves. What else is there to see? Nate, who doesn't have a decent storyline since... forever? Or Serena, who repeats the exact same boy meets girl arc every single season? At least Blair is decently played by Meester.

    I really don't see how that comment has any merit. There technically hasn't even been any Dair yet. You're oversimplifying it to fit your reasoning. I'm quite certain the ratings are dropping in no small part due to Chair.


    Think of about it. Which pairing is having the most problems, yet again? Chair. Which pairing has the most drama? Chair. Which pairing is most certainly going to end with the two of them getting back together yet again? Chair.


    People have seen this crap between Chair so many times that they just don't care to watch it happen all over again. People love Chair when they're actually in a relationship, but when problems start appearing, or when those two break up yet again and go through the process of finding their way back to each other, people are going to tune out because we've seen it all before.


    Dair hasn't ruined a single damn thing, the predictability of the Chair drama most certainly has.

    I agree when ever they say chuck and blair are over the ratings decrease ! HMMM .... I wonder why that is ! could it be that chair and derena make the show . Dair just creates haters .On a nother note ED WESTWICK is an amazing actor! He and leighton have sucj amazing chemistry as where penn and leightons has as much chesmistry as oil and water !

    Sorry, but what is this "real fanbase" you refer to? Chair shippers? How tiresome... I don't know why what's left of the fandom has to engage in silly
    pissing matches over shipping wars. Well, yeah, I get that Gossip Girl
    is all about the relationships, and one upon a time it never pretended
    to be otherwise - you know, when it was good. Now it's all about silly
    plots like Lily's fake cancer, and Chuck's Bass Industries shit - and
    the problem is that these ridiculous plots get front and center at the
    expense of characterization and organic storytelling.


    I don't think a lot of the positive Dair response had as much to do with people hating Chair as it was a reaction to simple, character-based storytelling that had nothing to do with corporate "intrigue" or overblown parental scandal.


    I don't blame Chair OR Dair for lowered ratings - I blame the increasingly absurd plot-focused nature of a character based show and the endless parade of guest stars nobody gives a shit about dividing the main cast into separate spheres and stealing time away from the focus on the relationships between ALL the characters that once made this silly show so compelling.

    I wouldn't say Ed Westwick is amazing, but he's far better than Chase, that's for sure.
    And about Penn and Leighton's chemistry, I'd have to agree with @ellaxoxo:disqus They are not as bad together as people use to say...
