As annoying as she may be, the few episodes with her this season were a highlight for me... this season has been eeeh they even kind of made Katie Cassidy boring who I love :-/
If this is a problem with Taylor Momsen, maybe they'll have Jenny come back at the end of next season after having some work done. If any show can pull that off, this one can.
As soon as Taylor Momsen stops dressing in idiotic outfits that I'm certain she thinks are cool, but just end up making her look trashy, and wearing an entire cosmetics aisle on her face, I'll care about her not being on the show. Until then, things are better without her.

It's hard to separate Jenny from Taylor Momsen. Whenever Jenny is on screen, I remember that I had seen a picture of Taylor looking something like this whenever she goes out into public:

If the actress makes me makes me want to stage an intervention, how am I supposed to tolerate her character?

I suppose that every viewer is different but, as far as I'm concerned, if the person in question isn't breaking any laws and isn't a danger to themselves or others I consider a stranger's personal life none of my business.
I get that there are people who vehemently disagree with Ms. Momsen's personal comments and her personal style but, as long as she's "Jenny" onscreen and not Taylor, that shouldn't matter.
Ugh, I know people are either happy or don't care about his, but I'm kinda pissed and really disappointed. Jenny and Vanessa were my favorite characters. I feel like now the writers are catering to what the majority of fans want rather than just writing stories for all characters. I really hope they do come back as guest stars, cause I will definitely miss their characters on the show. Personally, most of the other characters annoy me, but I guess I still have Blair and Dan. *sigh* RIP Jenny and Vanessa, you will be missed by me if no one else.
I was never a big fan of Vanessa but the one thing I found interesting about the evolution of her character is the same thing that ruined her character. Vanessa, like Dan, was an outsider who had a good moral compass. Seeing the social politics of the Upper East Side infect Vanessa like a virus and watching her sense of right and wrong spin wildly out of control, changing her into a totally different person, was fascinating but it also turned her into a grating, overly self-conscious, self-destructive whelp who became utterly unwatchable onscreen. Her character was a significant cautionary tale in many ways.
I think when the broke the story on this season last Spring, they were intending to go Dan/Blair and Chuck/Vanessa, but Ed Westwick's issues with Jessica Szhor killed that second part. It makes a lot of sense, given how little she's been used and how the groundwork they laid in Season 2.
I hope they add another regular girl. The pairings on this show are running their course, they need new blood. Their "Autumn Reeser", to reference The OC 's creative resurgence.
I always considered them two of the least interesting characters and far from being the best actors on cast, and especially since neither of them has had much to do this season I don' think I'll miss them, but over all I'm findind myself indiferent.
I really don't hate Vanessa. She's annoying. So is Dan.That's why I had my hopes that they could get married and be annoying away from the NJBC.About Jenny...I liked the character,at first, but then she got to complicated. "I'm a saint","No,I'm a psycopath" "No,wait,I am a saint".I'll miss her, but,as a huge fan of The Pretty Reckless,Taylor's band,I think is for the best.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Not really gonna miss either of them.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't remember what the show was like with them on it anyway. XD

ReplyDeleteSorry about Jenny but I don't care at all for Vanessa!!!

I'm not getting your logic here.

ReplyDeleteYay for Vanessa but I'm kinda sad about Jenny. She was a good character.

shitty
ReplyDeleteI am glad that they are gone. But I honesty thought that the writers would do at least one more round of Nate/Vanessa and Dan/Vanessa.
ReplyDeleteOMG! after the episode, I was quite afraid to see Leighton's name here.
ReplyDeleteI won't miss either of those.

ReplyDeleteRight there with you. I watch the show for Leighton. She's awesome.
ReplyDeleteCan't say I'll miss either Jenny or Vanessa. Haven't really taken to Charlie either, though.
i figuered considring Taylor has her band & Vanessa (Jessica) said to Charlie that she's going to be studying abroad or something

ReplyDeleteGOOD RIDDANCE I would say (;
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised. Hopefully Jenny can pop in now and again like Georgina does.
ReplyDelete(It should also be noted that the article said Kaylee DeFer has been made a series regular for next season)
