Okay B, it all worked out in the end, get over it. You've done worst before. Why is Eleanor okay with Blair's sudden engagement? What are parents for on GG?
Who said she didn't? Although sometimes it doesn't seem like it, Blair is an adult. All a parent can do is let their opinion be known and try to guide them with sound advice. The rest is up to the son or daughter.
At the end of the day, Eleanor is still Blair's mother and even if she doesn't agree with her choice doesn't mean she's going to miss out on her own daughter's wedding.
Eleanor, aka Blair's mother, called her childish about five episodes ago. So no, Blair who's only 20 after all, is nothing like an adult yet. She still schemes to get even with her friends for crying out loud! Yes, no one could really stop her from marrying Louis if that was what she really wanted but Eleanor could AT LEASE demand some reasoning for this rushed wedding.
Blair not being an adult emotionally doesn't change the fact that she is one legally.
I agree that Eleanor should demand some reasoning for the rushed wedding but she's likely overlooking it because he's a Prince. Let's be honest, not many people would object to their children marrying a person they only recenly met and barely know if that person was Royalty. If Louis wasn't a Prince, Eleanor would no doubt be lecturing Blair about rushing into marriage.
There's a giant incomprehensible leap from name-calling to not participating in your daughter's wedding and Eleanor isn't in a position to demand anything of her adult daughter.
Even if Blair does marry the prince, what's her mother going to do? Cut her off financially? She's marrying a prince.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
WHAT? Eleanor is on board with this shitty engagement stuff? Geez, I think I lost faith for this show now for good.
ReplyDeleteYeah. God forbid there's a mother on this show who will stand by their daughter for better or for worse. What an alien concept.

ReplyDeleteWell, I am sorry but every normal parent would give their children good advice instead of an engagement party to a guy she just met.

Because may be she knows that if she openly opposes it, Blair will only get more motivated.
