Game of Thrones ratings rise in US and UK

10 May 2011

HBO’s Game of Thrones inched upward in the ratings for the second week in a row.
The 9 p.m. airing was seen by 2.5 million viewers, up slightly from last week’s 2.4 million. This is yet another positive sign for the fantasy series, climbing in the numbers despite the show’s story pace lessening a bit the previous week. The show’s action kicks into high gear starting on Sunday’s fifth episode, which could result in Thrones gaining even more traction in the weeks to come, just like True Blood its first year.
And in the UK, the numbers have risen as well. Digital Spy reports that this week’s episode was watched by 628k viewers, which is up 23% from last week.

  1. I generally don't care much for this genre but this one is good Really good.

  2. It really is the least "fantasy" fantasy series I ever read or seen on TV. No less epic, but so grounded in gritty reality.

  4. Haha... thanks!

It's actually 3 pictures i merged in a collage. 2 of Arya from house Stark Promo video (the head shot ends just below her shoulders if you look closely) and then I added the title to it.

  5. That is very well done. Maybe HBO should make a high-res version for a promo pic. *Saves*.

  6. You made this pic yourself? You're a freak... Well, you know, in a positive kind of way.

  8. haha thanks.. I think.. Last night I started from scratch building a group shot collage for the DVD art I am making. Arya's was one of the pics i made up. One of Catelyn too, but it is not as "fun".

Still need to finish the overall collage.. I can't be happy with the finished product. I think I am on my 10th version or so ... ha!

  19. I'm glad there's room for a show as complex and sophisticated as Game of Thrones on the same network as Entourage. It's reassuring.

  20. HBO is really pushing their new online streaming service HBO Go, which is available only to HBO subscribers. We have already noted that they have added
a bunch of cool special features
    for
    Game of Thrones
episodes. And now HBO has announced that they will stream episode seven of
    Thrones
on HBO Go a week before it airs. The Hollywood Reporter has
    the story
    :
The executive [HBO co-president Eric Kessler] on Tuesday also said that HBO Go will exclusively make available the following week’s episode of new HBO hit Game of Thrones right after the May 22 episode, which ends with a cliffhanger that Kessler said will entice fans to immediately see what happens next. The move is part of a plan to offer exclusive content windows on HBO Go to “encourage registration” of users for the service, he said.

  21. Gaining momentum. I like :) Not that I was worried, but it's always nice to hear that the shows you love are successful.
